12 best briggs stratton fuel treatments

Briggs & Stratton fuel treatments are products designed to improve the performance and longevity of small engines, including those found in lawn mowers and other outdoor power equipment. These treatments are related to the categories of Lawn Mower Replacement Parts, Lawn Mower Parts Accessories, Replacement Parts Accessories, Outdoor Power Tools, and Patio Lawn Garden. Here's what you need to know about Briggs & Stratton fuel treatments:

  1. Fuel Stabilization: One common type of Briggs & Stratton fuel treatment is a fuel stabilizer. It is used to prevent the gasoline in small engine tanks from deteriorating and forming deposits over time. Stabilizers are particularly useful for equipment that is stored for extended periods, such as lawn mowers during the winter season.

  2. Ethanol Treatment: Many Briggs & Stratton fuel treatments also contain ethanol treatments. Ethanol in gasoline can cause problems in small engines, including corrosion and fuel system damage. These treatments help counteract the negative effects of ethanol and maintain engine performance.

  3. Cleaner and Conditioner: Some products also act as fuel system cleaners and conditioners. They help remove carbon deposits and varnish buildup in the carburetor, fuel lines, and other engine components. This can lead to smoother engine operation and improved fuel efficiency.

  4. Fuel System Maintenance: These treatments are designed to provide ongoing maintenance for the fuel system. By keeping the fuel system clean and free from deposits, they can extend the life of the engine and reduce the need for repairs and replacement parts.

  5. Improved Starting: Fuel treatments can help improve cold-weather starting by preventing fuel line freezing and maintaining the proper fuel mixture. This is especially important for outdoor power equipment that is used in various weather conditions.

  6. Compatibility: It's essential to choose a Briggs & Stratton fuel treatment that is compatible with your specific engine and fuel type. These treatments come in different formulations, so be sure to read the product label and follow the manufacturer's recommendations.

  7. Usage Instructions: Typically, you add the fuel treatment to the fuel tank at the recommended dosage before filling it with gasoline. This allows the treatment to mix with the fuel and provide its intended benefits.

  8. Regular Use: To maintain the health and performance of your small engine, it's advisable to use fuel treatments regularly, especially if your equipment sees infrequent use or seasonal storage.

By using Briggs & Stratton fuel treatments, you can help ensure the proper functioning and longevity of your small engines, reduce the risk of fuel-related issues, and improve the overall efficiency of your outdoor power equipment, such as lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and generators. These treatments are a valuable addition to the maintenance routine for any small engine-powered equipment.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this for a briggs & stratton platinum 24hp v twin? i have a craftsman t
Answer: Merv 16 captures over 95% of microscopic particles in 3 ranges per ASHRAE 52.2. HEPA-11 captures over 95% of 0.3um particles. This filtration media captures over 99% of the most penetrating size 0.3um particles, exceeding both Merv 16 and HEPA-11. Filtration of airborne micron size particles works using sticky Van der Waals forces where particles touch a fiber and are captured. The familiar mechanical strainer or sieve concept does not apply at this size of particulate matter. Capture happens when a particle touches a fiber. The mechanism of causing particles to touch a fiber differ by particle size. The larger particles have inertia, cannot flow with the curving airstream through the filter, and capture is by Inertial Impaction. Smaller particles flow with the air stream and come within one radius of a fiber and are captured by Interception. The smallest particles 0.1um and smaller are captured because of Brownian motion, or the zigzagging of air molecules causing random motion of the tiniest particles, and capture is by interception and impaction. The most penetrating size is 0.3um as can be seen in the adapted ASHRAE graph. Filters perform better on particles larger and smaller than ~0.3um. Filtration efficiency on 0.1 um particles is even higher than on 0.3um particles. Additionally, with the addition of an electric field, electrostatic filters can capture 10x as many of these particles. This is why the key material used to make graded masks is electrostatic melt blown polypropylene.
Question: Is this the correct kit for 23hp brigg and stratton
Answer: Yes it is!
Question: Is this the correck kit for the intek 24 hp v-twin engine
Answer: From the on line research that I did it’s very good for masks. It’s not as good as the N95 but does filter down to 0.3 microns. From what I have read I understand the smallest particles for Covid19 are as small as 0.1 in size. Hope that helps. I would encourage you to also research the material. In a pinch you can also use vacuum bags😉 Good luck!
Question: Does this tune up kit fit a simplicity model
Answer: This material has a rating of MERV 13 which can filter out particles as small as .3 microns. It's relatively thin and will work well as a supplemental filter to be sandwiched between two layers of cotton or similar material of a Covid-19 mask for extra protection by filtering out water droplets containing the virus. The virus in aerosol form can be as small as .1 micron, so this material is not as efficient as an N95 mask for Covid-19, but it can filter out some larger viruses prevalent during flu season.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this fit a 104mo5-0040-f1 briggs and stratton
Answer: This carb is for the 163cc engine, which on my mower is marked 7.25hp
Question: Will this fit a Briggs & Stratton 7.25 horsepower
Answer: My Toro personal pace mower is marked: 7.25hp - 163cc. This carb works perfectly for me.
Question: Is the OEM
Answer: Yes
Question: the one i just got does not have a choke. there is only 1 hole for a rod not 2. i’m wondering if it’s the completely wrong carb but the part
Answer: Copied from my review, I hope this helps. On my mower this replacement carburetor is slightly different and has a spring to operate the choke on the carburetor. The original carburetor had a linkage bar to a spring attached to the front of the lawnmower. If you come across this remove the choke linkage bar (it's not needed). Just attach the governor linkage and reassemble your mower. Verified with Briggs & Stratton the 594058 carb is the only carburetor listed engine Model 104M020008F1

Product features

Briggs & Stratton Genuine Carburetors

Only Briggs & Stratton genuine parts are specially designed to exact Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards. Not only are Briggs & Stratton genuine parts assured to fit, but using them ensures that the Briggs & Stratton engine they are installed on complies with applicable emission regulations.

Carburetor Problems

Carburetor problems can be caused by blockage from debris, dirt and gasoline deposits. This will cause the main jet to become clogged and prevent the engine from starting.

Cleaning Your Carburetor

General carburetor maintenance can prevent serious damage from occurring. Using carburetor cleaner and compressed air, any debris can be removed from the main jet. Cleaner will dissolve any deposits in your carburetor and choke.

Removing Your Carburetor

Disconnect the spark plug lead and secure it away from the spark plug. Then, remove the air cleaner assembly. Turn off the fuel valve at the base of the fuel tank. Disconnect the carburetor removing the nuts and sliding the carburetor off the studs.

General Lawnmower and Small Engine Maintenance

Are you changing your oil, replacing your air filter and adding fuel stabilizer to your outdoor power equipment as frequently as you should be? General engine maintenance will help your engine last longer and run better. Using genuine parts on your Briggs & Stratton engine will make sure it fits right and runs the way it’s supposed to.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this hose compatible with craftsman pressure washer model no
Answer: No use this filter 30 days and dispose of it
Question: Where do I put the oil in the Briggs and Stratton electric
Answer: Yes, using multiple layers of this material is much better than the p 2.5 filters that you can insert in a mask. Those filters are too small and don't fit your face . Using this material you can cut it to size and it is much thinner and even more effective. The material is much more breathable than the 2.5 filters. It makes a big difference I highly recommend it.
Question: My pressure washer calls for a 6048 o ring kit. will this kit fit
Answer: Filters perform better on particles both larger and smaller than ~0.3um so there is no need to double or triple it up. The most penetrating size is 0.3um as can be seen in the adapted ASHRAE graph. Filtration efficiency on 0.1 um particles is even higher than on 0.3um particles. This is because of the physics phenomena called Brownian Motion, or the zigzagging of air molecules causing random motion of the tiniest particles, resulting in their capture.
Question: My pressure washer calls for pump oil "6033", but later says it needs a non-detergea
Answer: Do not wash the filter. Washing will damage the micron-level structure and reduce the electrostatic effect. Simply dispose of it.

User questions & answers

Question: Is 6 oz ok for my 80cc bike I have a 1 gal tank and I need 20:1 for after breaking in and 16:1 for breaking in need a response fast I need oil
Answer: you can make the mix what ever you want just read the mix instructions
Question: I have never used this before. Do i need to buy anything else for my trimmer
Answer: I assume you have a 2 cycle trimmer. Read the manual on the correct oil/gas mixture. Most American built trimmers use a 40:1 or 50:1 mixture. 40:1 is 2.6 oz. per gallon. A little less oil if 50:1. Chinese 2 cycle motors still use 25:1 or 20:1 oil mixture. Use 5.1 oz. of oil per gallon of gas for 25:1 or a little more if 20:1 mixture.
Question: How many gallons will this treat if one whole 16 oz bottle is used
Answer: I use 50:1. That takes 2 oz per gallon so I get 8 gallons per bottle. It is great having the squeeze section so you can precisely measure before filling gas can.
Question: What size (oz) is the measure cup on top? Say I neeeded 3.2 oz
Answer: It has numerous markings including 32 to 1 or 3.2 oz there is a graduated scale on the side, loosen the cap and squeeze gently until the desired amount is reached. Should you decide to go with this, I used a sharpie to highlight the markings to make then easier to read

Briggs & Stratton small engine oil is designed and proven to meet the demands of 4-cycle engines. Our oil products have been approved by Briggs & Stratton engineers, recommended in all operator manuals, and is a high-quality detergent oil classified SJ/CD by the API.

Small engine oil type recommendations:

Different oil types can work best at certain temperatures. Learn which one to choose for your climate:

  • SAE 30- Warmer temperatures, most common oil for small engines
  • SAE 10W-30- Varying temperature range, this grade of oil improves cold weather starting, but may increase oil consumption
  • Synthetic SAE 5W-30- Best protection at all temperatures as well as improved starting with less oil consumption
  • SAE 5W-30- Very cold temperatures
  • Vanguard 15W-50- Varying temperature range. For continuous-use, such as commercial lawn cutting or pressure washing

When choosing lawn mower oil, use a high quality detergent oil classified as 'For Service SF, SG, SH, SJ' or higher. Do not use special additives.

Synthetic oils are an acceptable oil at all temperatures. Use of synthetic oil does not alter required oil change intervals.

User questions & answers

Question: How about transmission fluid on cars. Thanks
Answer: In my case gas was leaking into and swelling the air filter because of a worn float needle.
Question: Will this work with the Toro TimeMaster
Answer: Yes it will.....you will need to remove one of the parts from your old carb and install it to the new one. It's easy to do, and easy to see what it is. It just pulls out. Once you have it out connect it to the governor rod and THEN just snap it on your new carb. There are utube videos that show how to install the carb but most snap the part in place first and then bend the governor rod. It works, but this is the best and correct way
Question: So does this work for draining oil from a car through the dipstick tube
Answer: Thank you, Jesus Lujan for your answer. I ordered the carb and it fit perfectly on my Craftsman 6.25 four wheel drive mower. Took 30 minutes to install and much faster and easier than installing a kit to rework the carb.
Question: Where or what is the hose clip thing the owners manual tells you to clip off the hose after removing from the dipstick tube
Answer: No it does not

Product features

Step 1: Getting Started

Start the engine and run it until it is warm. Stop the engine. WARNING: Be sure to disconnect the spark plug wire, and secure it away from the spark plug to prevent accidental starting. Clean around the oil fill and drain plug area to prevent dirt and debris from falling into the crankcase (see photo at right). Remove the dipstick, if equipped.

Step 2: Draining The Oil

Remove dipstick, wipe off, and set aside.

Feed hose down dipstick tube until it bottoms out in the sump.

Pump until oil ceases to come through the tube.

Step 3: Engines with Oil Filters

If your engine has an oil filter, replace it at least once per season.

Replace the oil filter by twisting counterclockwise on the body, using a filter wrench or pipe wrench.

Examine the sealing surface on the oil filter adapter for debris or gasket material.

Lightly oil the filter gasket with clean engine oil. Install a new filter, screwing in by hand until the gasket contacts the filter adapter (see photo at right). Tighten the filter an additional 1/2 to 3/4 turn.

Step 4: Fill With New Oil

Pour in the correct amount and approved type of oil for your engine, based on this oil capacity chart , or your operator manual. If you have two oil fill plugs (normally yellow or white in color) on each side of the engine, either one can be used to fill the engine with oil to the correct level. Please do not fill the engine with oil without using the correct measuring device as illustrated in your operator’s manual.

Oil Recommendations

We recommend the use of Briggs & Stratton Warranty Certified oils for best performance. Other high-quality detergent oils are acceptable if classified for service SF, SG, SH, SJ or higher. Do not use special additives.

Outdoor temperatures determine the proper oil viscosity for the engine. Use the chart to select the best viscosity for the outdoor temperature range expected. Engines on most outdoor power equipment operate well with 5W30 Synthetic oil. For equipment operated in hot temperatures, Vanguard 15W50 Synthetic oil provides the best protection.
