| Answer: | As several people have stated, it dosn't come with a cord. You must buy a separate outdoor extension cord long enogh for your use. One person stated he used a 100 ft 10 amp cord. I hope he ment a 10 gage cord. I wouldn't recomend running a 13 amp motor on a cord rated for 10 amps. I use a 100 ft 14 gage cord. 14 gage wire is rated for 15 amps, 12 gage for 20 amps and 10 gage for 30 amps. I find the mower runs on the 14 gage without heating the wire at all. If the wire gets hot, you are using to small of a wire. Go to a smaller gage number to carry more amps. |

| Answer: | Most of your home improvement stores will carry a reel mower sharpening kit that has a gritty paste, application brush, reel crank, and directions for about $15. The gist of it is you put the paste on the edges of the reel blades and the bed blade and use the crank to spin the reel for a bit (you can also use a drill with an attachment, much easier and faster). You may also have to adjust the bed blade. The whole process depends on your mechanical skills really, it can take anywhere from 20 mins to 1 hour. What ever you do please don't use a grinder or file as that will potentially ruin your mower by removing too much metal. When to sharpen depends on a lot of variables such as how often you mow, the type of grass or weeds you have etc. The best way to tell is if you consistently have rogue grass blades sticking up or patches of uneven grass where you mowed. I would expect most people would sharpen their reel mowers about twice a year. |

Amazon could help by not recommending a cord that will destroy the motor.2. Electric mowers by nature are maintenance mowers. It is assumed that you will be cutting your grass regularly before it gets so tall you are losing small children in it. | Answer: | You should never have more than a 5% voltage drop over the length of an extension cord. Given that this is a 10-amp device, for performance, cord durability, and most importantly, safety, you should have a 16 gauge cord for 50ft (4.2%, 5 volt drop), and 12 gauge cord for 100ft (3.3%, 4 volt drop) and 150ft (4.9%, 5.9 volt drop). Always err on the side of a larger cord (smaller gauge number is larger) when dealing with electricity, even though such cords are typically more expensive. $10-$20 can be the difference between working/broken equipment or something catching on fire. Be careful about someone using a 16 gauge cord under acceptable conditions, but then adding an extension and causing problems. |

To answer this question, if you ordered the 40 volt cordless mower, then yes, you did get a dud. If you ordered the electric 10 amp then there is no battery to charge. |

Comes with extra battery and 1 did frontage (260' x 10') easily. Recharges in 4 hrs. I got extra spools of line, but haven't needed to switch as yet. |

Good to know replacements are so inexpensive on eBay 🙃 I guess if you’ve never used a mower before you might wonder where the grass goes. I’ve never used a bag, never dethatched, my zoysia is more than 35 years old and very healthy. I consider the grass clippings a gift from God. As far as where does the cut grass go, it stays pretty much right there. This is a very small mower if you use it that way. If the green stuff is very tall, we just had more than 10 days of rain, then I cut little narrow swathes. It is a weed eater with a deck. I had breast cancer 4 years ago. The treatment almost did me in. Up until then I did my own yard work. I’ve paid hundreds of dollars hiring idiots to scalp my zoysia and then take out my roses, Japanese maples, fig trees, lilies and plants large enough to see with weeders. I bought this little guy for me to use as it’s small enough for me use to mow my uneven lawn and it’s hard to scalp s rise budh if the weeder stays in the deck. I love this little guy. |
