All the alarms will tell you where the action is located; for example, "there is a fire in the kitchen" (assuming you have a detector in (and programmed for) the kitchen. If you sent it up correctly, it will work with both hardwired devices. Whether it works with wireless devices, I cannot say - mine are all hardwired. The biggest reason why I chose OneLink was it is Homekit compatible. If you have family members with special needs, the automation feature can be a life saver. For example, you can set up an automation that says, "when the smoke detector triggers, blink a light. That can make a world of difference if you family member is deaf. Homekit is a closed, and one of the most secure smart home systems because it is built directly into IOS. It works with WiFi apps so I cut back on all these hubs I had laying around the house. I worked extensively with One Link on these - particularly with cross-product integration both within and outside of the One Link family. I currently have 1 of these in the basement, and 1 in the main hallway on the top floor. I have a Safe & Sound in the main floor in the foyer. I also have older wired Kiddes in each bedroom. When I tested each device they triggered the alarm on each detector - including the older Kidde wired detectors. The One Links told you which device was triggered which the Kiddes just sounded off. Incidently, these devices work well with Homekit compatible camera and security systems. I tested this with Arlo and the alarm was ear piercing. I did run into one problem testing the network which I worked out extensively with One Link - there was a delay in triggering the events. The delay was such that one device would trigger the alarm but the delayed trigger would set them all off again. In testing, they never stopped setting each other off. If you noticed, you would have received a firmware update sometime in [quasi] April, 2020 to address this. |

Brand new never used mower received July 7th 2020 - wanted to charge the batteries before use and one battery was completely DEAD - was 1st told to get a hold of a local dealer - out of the 5 with in 50miles only one said they had a battery - but they wanted the mower as well. That's too much of a hassle just for a dead battery - hope this can get resolved through a swap. Tested mower with the one working battery and mower was fine - just need a working 2nd battery. |
