Answer:	I believe it would damage tines. Never tried pulling it toward me, I put up on wheels to pull.

Answer:	I never experienced that but my lawn is only 40 x 80 ft so I may have not run it long enough for the motor to overheat. Or maybe the others are using it without the bag and cutting deeper. I got about 120ft into my lawn and it was time to stop and empty the bag. I was very pleased with the result (it dug up the dead grass without laying waste to the live grass) and it performed much better than the one I got from the rental company. If I run it one more time, it will have paid for itself. Your results may vary but I am happy with its performance!
Question:	Does anyone use this for picking very small leaves from lawn
Answer:	This machine works great for hatching your lawn. I don't use the bag because it fills up so fast. I go over the lawn with it then go over it again with the mower to pick up all of the stuff it pulls up. I have had multiple neighbors use it and it is by far worth to money.

Answer:	Yes, you can, as long as the ground is not wet, care needs to be taken not to totally destroy the stolon network in your lawn.

Answer:	It is not. HOWEVER, the detaching action gently propels it forward. It is simple physics. You will like it.By the same physics, it dethatches nicely in the forward direction... if you drag it backwards it might dig-in a little... so just do a turn and continue.

Answer:	Hello there, No, GreenWorks does not offer a bag for this unit as it does not collect well. It simply pulls thatch up to the surface. The Sun Joe bag would not be compatible.
Question:	Does this work better than a pull behind dethatcher
Answer:	This requires a heavy duty extension cord. If you use an extension cord that is too small for the length of the cord you'll have problems. I've seen several lawn care professionals and lawn care fanatics do YouTube videos on this and they all say about the exact same thing. It feels like a flimsy Tonka-Toy gadget, but it does a good job. Some people say to use this twice a year, in the spring and in the fall, although that is partly true, you can use this at a slightly higher setting almost weekly if you like. Most people do not mow often enough or their mower blades are not good mulching blades and the clippings are not small enough to quickly decay and return nutrients to the soil, and you end up with a bed of brown dead grass buried in the turf. Although not apparent to the naked eye to most people, these clippings dull the color of your lawn. If you go to YouTube and look up Pest and Lawn Ginja who owns a company that services 25+ lawns a day, he has a video of a lawn such as this and he ran over the lawn with one of these one direction, then gathered the dead grass and then went over the lawn again at a 90 degree angle and pulled up a lot more dead grass, and the end result was a MUCH better color to the lawn, and this will be a healthier lawn because there is better oxygen transfer to the soil. The reduced dead grass clutter (not thatch, just dead debris) will also reduce the chance of fungus problems from decaying and damp dead grass clippings that are not properly mulched. Most non-professional grade mowers do not have enough power to adequately spin the blades at a fast enough speed to cut the grass several times to properly mulch, or the blades are not kept sharp enough to do the job. For example, you should sharpen a mower blade about every 15,000 sq. ft. of lawn if you are mowing a thick Zoysia lawn. if you have a less dense turf type, probably every 25,000 sq. ft. would be good.

Question:	what are the 2 rods for
Answer:	As best I can tell, they keep the tines from separating from the dethatcher in the event that they come loose from the base. Seems like a rather unlikely event but it probably could happen. The rods are thin and you weave them through all of the loops at the tops of the tines and simply bend them at each end to keep them from slipping out.
Question:	Will it clean tilled garden
Answer:	It is not designed for tilled ground but could probably be pulled across and if the soil is not too coarse would function as a rake to remove debris. I don't believe it would break up clods of dirt tho.
Question:	Does this dethatcher work well without adding extra weight to it
Answer:	if you don't add some weight it will just bounce behind your tractor. the tines are like a spring steel you could add a little weight or go real slow. I just used two 8 x 16 pavers (1 1/2" thick ) and it worked well. Made a couple of passes and it didn't tear up the existing grass.
Question:	My yard is mostly packed soil with hardly any lawn left after I removed clover that I now want to seed . Will this loosen the soil enough to reseed
Answer:	It's a dethatcher. The tines are not designed to loosen the soil, only to scratch loose the thatch.

Otherwise it works well.

Answer:	No As this is not a mulcher. Be prepared as the bag is not useful at all! You would do better detesting first and pick up everything with a lawnmower that mulch and have a bag. I did this approximately 2 weeks ago maybe three and I powered seeded front and dropped in back and my grass is truly beautiful! I do recommend the product.

Answer:	I guess that depends on how many cones you have on your lawn, Personally I would rake or use my lawn sweeper first to get them off the lawn before using the dethatcher. My reason for saying that is because the bag is not that big and if you have a lot of cones you will be spending a lot of time emptying the bag. If you have a large lawn you might consider not using the bag and rake up the grass and cones when you are finished

I highly recommend you include this step. Bending them is also easy to do.

Question:	How strong are the times. I’m looking for something that can “dig” through horse manure in a small pasture to help spread it out
Answer:	I really think it would do it, the tines are strong enough to dig into the ground a good 1/4 inch if set up right. Here's the issue though... think of the tines as little springs, they dig and release, dig and release. ( think of flicking your finger over a table top) Now imagine 20-30 tines flicking manure all over the back of your tractor and yourself. Maybe construct some kind of blocking screen in front of the tines? I can see a rather ugly mess developing.
Question:	can it clean a paddock of small rocks
Answer:	Lucille:I'm not sure why you would want to use a dethatcher for that, but my guess would be no. It may work for somewhat larger rocks (rocks that are large enough to be caught by 2 or more tines), but not smaller rocks.HTH
Question:	How do I get replacement tines
Answer:	Go to brinly website they sell the tines there
Question:	When I am done dethatching, can I use this to rough the surface & plant seed
Answer:	Yes, you can. According to the directions that come with the dethatcher, setting number 3 on the adjusting bar is meant for preparing the surface for seeding.

Question:	Can this pick up walnuts
Answer:	Yes, it can pick up walnuts. You will need to make sure the grass is cut low and the brushes are on a low setting. It may take a couple passes.
Question:	How easy is it to empty? Can I empty into paper yard waste bags
Answer:	There is a rope that attaches to the top back part of the chute. Once full, you pull the rope to lift the chute which will dump the grass or leaves from the bottom of the chute. You will need to load the waste into the bags by hand.
Question:	Will this pick up small rocks in the yard
Answer:	Thank you for your question. The answer is 'it depends'. If your yard is such that the appropriate brush setting is low (i.e. grass very short) and there are small rocks present, the Brinly sweeper is able to pick them up (as it will work on pavement as well). The trick is when there are areas of long or thick grass mixed with bare spots and the brush setting needs to be higher so that it won't drag in the grass. In that case - the brushes will tend to 'skip over' the bare spots so will not be able to reach the small rocks. It's important not to set the brushes too low and cause the sweeper to drag or the gears will work against the brushes and wear prematurely. Hope that helps, and good luck with your project!
