Answer:	I found keeping the blade straight and standing back from the tree (instead of right underneath) best for cutting.You pull the blade towards you to cut, lift the blade place it on the branch and pull towards you lift blade and place it into the cut and repeat till cut off.

Answer:	I have cut branches that thick, but it was difficult--especially if you have to reach a long distance. Having said that, understand that I am 74 years old. The 9301 can do the job.

Answer:	The Alligator is designed to cut branches up to 4 inches. I live in an area which has several different varieties of palms. Chain saws are used to cut fronds all of the time. Actually the closed jaw of the Alligator will prevent the chattering one may get with a chain saw when cutting dry fronds. Small fronds (1 inch or less) are not firm enough for a chain saw and a lopper is best used. Almost all mature fronds can be cut with the Alligator. CAUTION!!! It takes two hands to operate the Alligator. When cutting fronds beyond reach from the ground USE PROPER SAFETY EQUIPMENT to prevent falls as you will not be able to hang on to anything for support.
Question:	Where can you find replacement blades
Answer:	Any tool only operates as well as the power you supply to it. The smaller the gauge coupled with a long distance cord will restrict the flow and brown out the supply. The tool will be underpowered and possibly damaged. It will not operate efficiently and you will be dissatisfied, saying the tool is at fault. Even at under 100 feet of extension cord, I always use 14 gauge. Remember, it isn't how far you stretch the cord out, but how long the cord is itself. Don't cheap out on extension cords and you will be much happier with the performance of any power tool.

Answer:	Hi Leon,Yes, they are great for small snips like deadheading flowers. My wife uses them all the time in her flower garden. This is one of the great things about them that if you open the jaws slightly, like the size of a blossom stem, they do not engage the ratchet mechanism. And yet they can cut one inch branches. Answer:	This is a great question! When you open the pruners wide to make a large cut and then squeeze the handles, the pruner makes it about 1/3 of the way through the branch, release and depress again and it goes about 2/3's through and on the final "stage" or "squeeze", the branch is finally cut through. Each of these three squeezes or 'Stages" takes less hand pressure to complete and this is the purpose of the ratchet mechanism, to make pruning easier for each cut. Occasionally it will take four stages or cuts to complete. Bottom line, easier on the hands, and this is the whole purpose of this tool, to make hard cuts easier and reduce pressure and strain on the hands.
