Question:	How many hours will one full tank run with this unit on medium setting
Answer:	Whatever, the one I have is very dim and I can only view it by holding it. The thing says it has backlight, the manual says it, but it's not a feature. It also has a button "Signal" on the back that is not explained anywhere. It seems to work well enough, but it's impossible to read the screen in most places I have put it or hung it up.
Question:	can this be used on a covered porch or screen porch
Answer:	The manual suggests that the sensor can be out in the weather, as long as it isn't in the pouring rain. AcuRite sells a protective unit, here on Amazon, for a reasonable price to protect the sensor from full sun and rain and snow. Use Lithium batteries if you have it out in weather colder than 40 degrees (F). Right now it's 44 degrees on my patio in southern California.

Answer:	I would not try it. A 20 lb tank is pretty snug and the access door is sized just for that size. A 30 lb tank might be able to be squeezed in but it is not clear how you would attached the hose and use the control valve. Others may have a more creative solution.

Answer:	It lasts a really long time. On a full tank, mine will last 12+ hours on a mixture of medium to low setting, about 8-10 on just medium

Answer:	Use an electric heater for covered porch. The risk of fire and / or carbon monoxide poisoning if not properly vented or if the unit is inadvertently left on is too high.

Answer:	I know! The instructions are not very clear but if you move it to approximately 9:00 position (marked Hi) press in and hit the ignition, it will start. Hold the control knob in for a while and you will see it start to glow... it may "pop n' spit" a bit but it will calm down shortly. If a windy day keep the knob depressed a bit longer, release; and don't leave it until it a couple minutes. Make sure it is really going before you trust it. If you are like me (bald)... wear a hat, it really throws out the heat when you are close.

Answer:	To my understanding it has a tilt safety feature that shuts the unit off if it falls over, but no standard auto shut off.

Answer:	Mine did. It seems like a returned/refurbished unit. I could easily see them sending one without a remote. The stand was the big selling point. If I needed a mountable unit, I probably would have gotten a different one, or from a different seller (price/shipping time).
Question:	how easy is assembly
Answer:	Portability is the advantage However it’s not a real sturdy unit and the bulbs are very delicate(and unavailable for purchase) if it falls over good chance it’s shot. So fixed to a wall is probably best.

Question:	I've heard that these style heaters don't really generate much heat. Are they as good as the heaters with the dome in top
Answer:	Not difficult, but you won't feel confident while doing it. I think mine was a returned/refurbished unit, maybe it helped to have some screws already in place. Screwed 2 brackets together, shorter loose screws and fastened with wingnuts. Screwed brackets onto heater. Took out existing screws and rescrewed them in. Used long screws and capnuts to attach bracket (with heater) to stand. Isn't straight. Isn't the sturdiest. Don't feel good. Decorative bracket doesn't fit and it in the garage pile of assorted things I won't ever use.

Does this product come with a propane tank or no

Answer:

No doubt the dome on the top of this one is smaller than the ones that you don't see a flame. We keep ours on a screened in porch that has ceiling fans. It's amazing the heat that we feel if fans are on low. In general though, if it is simply to stay warm when temps are in the 20's, even 30's, it probably is not what you are looking for. However, we love the look and being able to see the flame, which does adjust. There are times we sit out when it is in low 60's and we turn it on low. Hope this helps.
