Answer:	We dug a shallow hole and dropped a flat square ( so water drains easily) sheet of metal in to build the fire on. Not needed, but we have done this once before with good results. The ring itself it above ground surrounded by brick.

When comparing different gases, you will discover that they required different amounts of air for complete combustion. To burn properly LPG (Propane) requires an air-to-gas volume ratio of about 24:1. For Butane, it is about 31:1. Natural gas (Methane) requires an air-to-gas volume ratio of about 10:1. Incomplete combustion also results in hazardous carbon monoxide: Less Oxygen

Answer:	Buy the frequently bought together. Ring, air mixer, and bango burner control and hose. You will also need 1/2" black pipe sections so suit your installation and a fitting to get from 1/2 pipe to the fitting on the control hose. Take it to your local hardware, they will have the fitting. I converted a chiminea to propane. Used 1- 6" nipple 1- elbow, air mixer, 1- 6" nipple, adapter to control hose. Works great

Answer:	If you want to make it wider(72" instead of 36") it's going to be difficult. It comes as 4 quarter arc segments that you screw together. If you want to make it taller, you might be able to use the ribbing to hold one above the other(put one together, put the other one together around the other, bottom rib of one fitted into the top rib of the other). Might work.

Portable Campfire Ring

Campfire safety is important, but the idea of finding and carrying a bunch of rocks for a one-time fire at your campsite can be daunting. Instead, safely contain your campfire with Camco's Portable Campfire Ring. The large, 27-inch wide steel ring will accommodate your natural wood-burning fire, and allow you to safely build a campfire wherever you bring it. The six-piece hinged ring easily unfolds and assembles with no tools needed for assembly. When you’re done, allow the ring to cool off significantly before folding it and storing it into the included bag.

How it Works

The six pre-attached panels fold for easy storage. To set up, remove the panel assembly from the storage bag, unfold and attach together at the hinge. If you want to build a smaller fire, you can use fewer panels. Make sure the ring is sturdy and build your fire within it. When you’re done, allow the panels to cool, then separate and fold them and place the assembly back in the bag for next time.

30" inside diameter fire ring with a 1" formed top flange and 7-3/8" high fire barrier made from 7 ga. (3/16") steel. Steel cooking grate includes a 300 sq. inch cook surface and is made from 5/8" & 1/2" diameter round steel bar. Our campfire rings are made in the USA and are the same ones you see in local, state, and federal parks all across the country. Do not fall for the cheaply made knock-offs manufactured overseas. Our fire ring is built to last!

Answer:	No, you have to just use your common sense when putting it together and installing it.

Answer:	Yes it can. You can choose not to put on the bottom nut so that the grate can be removed.
