But the hose is made in USA, VERY tough, VERY flexible, and I am VERY pleased with mine so far (I use it for a wood shop dust collection vacuum system). No kinks, no stiffening, no rips (even after dragging it around the shop vacuuming up wood chips). I would be VERY careful filling it with water. The weight of water is 1lb / 16 oz / Pint = 8 lb / gallon. That hose is so flexible, you would need to support it every few inches or so to keep if from sagging too much. And if you poke holes in it for trickling water, you would compromise the integrity of the hose a bit. Unless it was well-supported, it would probably rip. Good luck |

I came across this product out of desperation as to how I was going to keep my cat from chewing on electrical cords and possibly electrocuting and killing himself So I bought this product and stuck every single cord that I couldn't get out of his reasch and i've been doing this now for the past 8 years and i'm happy to say that he has not been able to bite through this plastic tubing and is alive and well I believe because of it. I have used the half inch and smaller size and my thoughts are the larger that the tubing is the harder it is for the cat to chew on the tubing (mine actually tries chewing the tubing) but doesn't penetrate it to get to the electrical cord. | Answer: | The discharge hose kit is intended for use outside of the home. Connect the flexible hose to the PVC discharge pipe on the outside of your home. The size of this PVC pipe is normally inch and 1/2. The discharge hose kit allows you to extend the sump water from your pump on the outside of the house to an area away from your house. The flexible hose is not intended to be connected directly to your pedestal pump inside the house. | Answer: | the OD of the ribbed portion of the hose (after removing the smooth end piece) will fit in a 1 1/2" PVC coupler. I used this hose to hook up a kreepy crawly to an added input to my pool pump using 1 1/2" couplers. I had to remove the smooth/unribbed sections and insert couplers since those sections collapsed under the pump suction but once I did that this did what I needed. This was much cheaper than buying additional kreepy crawley hose sections (which would then have connections out of the water) and this hose is much more durtable and less brittle than the gray ones the pool stores sell for above ground pools. |
