Answer:	It is made to NOT melt a plastic tank, but if it were to drift to the edge of a "beach" area where the water is shallow, it's hard to know if the pond liner could withstand the heat. Make an anchor (e.g. concrete block) and tie the power cord (at the point where it enters the heater body) to the anchor so it holds itself in position in the center of the pond. That will leave the power cord free to connect to your extension cord.

Answer:	We use a 20 amp and have never had any trouble.

Answer:	I have used this heater for years in heating water in a plastic bucket. Remember a plastic bucket is RIDGED and a inflatable bathtub is NOT. Therefore you have a real possibity of the bath tub coming in contact with the heating element, which will melt the tub. I use the plastic bucket for safety reasons, in case the heating element develops a electical short. I use this bucket for washing my hands in during the winter at the barn. Have not kept exact records but my tap water is about 52 degrees and these heaters will raise temp about 10 degrees an hour to over a hundred no problem. Answer:	No - I would not run this product on 240V. You could buy a converter - but a 1000W model would be more expensive than just buying a 240V heater.

Answer:	It's been quite a while since I bought some of these but I think the directions said not to do so. However I plunked mine down into a 30 gal plastic trash barrel full of water and left it there. It does a great job in the green house raising the tap temperature of about 50 by 10 degrees per hour to well over 100. I put several of them on timers so they would not all run at once and trip breakers or waste current on an already hot tank. They do rust up pretty good so I used a wire brush on them a couple times a year. They do eventually give out, but provide a good service length in my opinion.

I use mine in a small room with tall ceilings and so far my winter bill is as high as it normally is (ugh) and doesn't seem to have gone up noticeably since I started using this (yay!). Answer:	They are made of thick, very durable plastic. I have 3 that just went through their 4th winter and are fine. Mine are kept outside only for the Winter months though, but last year they sat in full sun to boot. Never had a horse kick on one but have dropped by accident from 2nd story storage and ran into one before with a bobcat and no cracks or dents. When it is cold outside the internal thermostat does not allow the plastic to freeze. From the bottom, up to about 5" you feel warmth to the touch. From there up the plastic feels room temperature. FYI the water stays room temp and does not ever get warm.
Question:	Will unit burn out when not submerged
Answer:	I have filled the 16HB heated bucket to the top with no issues. The same goes for my other Allied heated buckets and pet bowls. They'll all occasionally attract more rodents when filled all the way, for your information. I have and will fill all of my buckets to the tippy top at some time or other. It all depends on how much time and patience I have while filling. I hope this helps.

Answer:	If you are asking about winter storage for your car to keep it from getting musty, that might work. Sort of like heat sticks for gun safes and pianos for the dampness. If your asking about living in your car, it wouldn't be warm enough for me.

Answer:	The answer to both questions is No according to the instructions. I did place mine on a wall so the chickens don't poop on it. It sits just above their heads while roosting. It also heats objects. Also it will only heat to about 45 degrees which is the highest temp you want for chickens. If the chickens get too hot they move away from it. The panel is not hot but warm to the touch. I find it to be very safe easy to install. Haven't had -30 degree weather yet. It has been in the 20's here at night and I really do love the product. Safe for everyone.

The internal thermostat does not automatically shut the unit off or on; it only regulates the temperature of the unit to maintain 140F.
