Answer:	Auto shutoff for what purpose? Two possibilities would be: A timer would switch it ff and on at prearranged times. For a malfunction due to no water going through, you will ideally want to power it through a ground fault interrupt circuit so in the event the water source accidentally runs dry the pump will not burn out.

Answer:	If your not concerned about how long it takes, I used it to pump out a much smaller volume and had to switch to a different pump. I used a Master submersible utility pump, model 540094-01, 1/4 HP, also available on Amazon, but about 4x more expensive. The FREESEA was taking forever. The Master pump has a garden hose size output.

Answer:	I have not noticed any drop in water preasure

Answer:	Doesn't really change the gas bill. It's a safety device that allows you to safely increase the hot water tank temperature (say to 140 deg) but keeps the output temperature in the safe, non-scalding, zone by mixing in cold water on demand. So it makes a smaller tank act like a larger tank that IS set to that same safe non-scalding temp. If you want to VERY technical, yes the gas bill will increase a tiny bit because the hot water tank's insulation will let a little more energy out at the higher temp. Get a hot water tank blanket if you're concerned.
Question:	Can I use this pump to aerate 2500 gallon fish tank 24x
Answer:	The short answer is yes, the long answer is as follows. The method to add a recirculating system that uses the least amount of parts, and therefore is the least expensive, is to remove the draincock at the bottom of the tank, install a plumbing "T" fitting, replace the draincock into one opening of the T and the return line from the recirculating pump into the other. Do yourself a favor by installing a shutoff valve between the pump and the T so you won't need to bleed down the tank should you need to service the pump (assuming the pump is mounted lower than the top of the tank). Another method is to install a T immediately above the cold water inlet at the top of the tank and connect the recirculator return line to one opening. To the other opening install a check valve such that the flow direction is toward the tank. Then install the Heatguard T fitting ("tee-piece") to the check valve. The check valve insures that the hot recirculated return water goes back into the tank and is not drawn into the cold water plumbing should someone open a cold-water faucet while the pump is running. However, because the check valve will block the backflow of all water, and the water inside the tank expands as it is heated, the increasing volume of hot water will seek an outlet somewhere to relieve the building pressure. If left to itself, it will push through the temperature/pressure safety valve on the tank or out through a weak spot in the plumbing somewhere in the house. So if this alternate method of connecting the pump is to be done, then an expansion tank must be added to anywhere in the hot water piping. Add a shutoff valve ahead of the expansion tank to facilitate servicing of the tank and install the tank pointing downward to keep sediment from depositing inside. The Heatguard instruction manual diagrams a way to connect a recirculating pump into the plumbing. DON'T DO IT THAT WAY. It requires 3 check valves AND DOES NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF THE EXPANDING WATER AS IT HEATS. Aside from what I've outlined so far, there are two items that should be presented. Firstly, the brass T ("tee-piece") can be installed into the cold water piping anywhere that the length of the braided flex hose will allow, not necessarily immediately at the cold water inlet of the tank. Secondly and most importantly, do yourself a favor and do not install the Heatguard mixing valve or T directly onto the tank regardless of what the manual states or shows. You would be joining two dissimilar metals, brass with steel or worse, galvanized steel. Doing so then flowing an electrolyte (water) through would result in galvanic reaction, which is corrosive. The steel would fair worse as it is more active (anodic) than the brass which is more noble (cathodic) on the galvanic series scale. But a weakened brass may snap apart during removal, and who wants to bear the cost of buying another Heatguard Booster for your next tank? Rather, allow the one you have to be reclaimable by installing dielectric unions at the inlet and outlet of the tank. I think it best to buy 2 pairs (about $6 singularly) and just leave the bottom half of each union in the scrapped tank. Then take the bottom half of each new spare and couple them up to the reclaimed union top halves. Drain the tank and/or shut down the gas or electric supply when work safety dictates.
Question:	Why is the flow rate in the description 10x what the manufacturer actually rates the pump at? 18,500 gph would be impossible with only 70 watts
Answer:	The short answer is that yes, the Heatguard is FACTORY PRESET to AUTOMATICALLY deliver an outlet temperature of 115*F to 120*F (the 5*F differential is factory tolerance) from a water tank temperature of 140*F to 195*F, so make NO adjustment unless you want water delivered outside that 115-120*F range. And now the long answer is as follows. For the Heatguard to be able to deliver water at the temperature of 120*F, the tank must be set to send water to it at a minimum temperature of 140*F. A setting of 160*F is well above that, but another issue may be in play: the water delivered to the tank must be cool enough to be able to dilute that 160*F water down to 120*F. Normally, this is not an issue, as the water is from a cool underground source. But a problem arises if a hot-water-recirculating system is in use. The Heatguard "tee-piece" fitting MUST be upstream of the point where the hot recirculated water is returned to the tank; otherwise, the hot recirculated water can raise the temperature of the cool inbound water to the point where it is no longer cool enough to bring down the outlet water from the Heatguard to 120*F. If necessary, relocate the point where the recirculated water is reintroduced into the system, or move the Heatguard tee-piece further upstream in the cold water supply line. To do so, you may buy a longer flex hose and another style of T-fitting as appropriate, at any hardware store. There is nothing particularly special or uniquely vital about the ones supplied with the Heatguard that prohibits substitution. Legionellae die within 32 minutes @ 140*F, within 2 minutes @ 151*F. If you feel that, on the subject of disease, there's no such thing as too much caution and want to operate your tank at 160*F, the question arises as to whether this setting is within the operating range of the equipment. This issue was just addressed for the Heatguard. As for the water heater, if it's gas fired, customarily the last gradation at the hot end of the temperature dial/knob is the 160*F setting. If it's an electric model, some have a peak setting of 170*F but most have 150*F as the last of the gradations. The minimal benefit from going above 150*F is not worthy of consideration anyway. The only way to know that the tank is in fact operating at your desired temperature is to wait until a heating cycle has ended and let some water out via the tank's draincock and measure the temperature. Use a plastic bucket, as a metal one would transfer heat and adulterate the reading. CAUTION: HOT WATER! And consider: when operating at an extreme, the consequences of a failure can push the limits of a tolerable recovery.

Answer:	this unit is very powerful - in my opinion, it has enough output to handle a waterfall. make sure you have extra filters on hand or make sure you regularly clean the filter that comes with the unit - it prevents a world of gunk from clogging the impellers inside the pump, especially if you have fish.

I needed something stronger for my water fall tubes which is a total of 6. I may use this pump just a fountain feature. Its a good pump, but for my application, I needed something a little more powerful.

Question:	My pump stopped working and when i pulled it out it started smoking. what do i do?it dosent turn on at all
Answer:	Return it to the manufacturer. I've purchase two of these pumps and they worked for a few weeks then they stopped. They were replaced but the replacements only lasted a few weeks. I have a smaller one that I purchased as a backup for when I purchase new kois, don't know if that is still coming on. I think that there is a serious problem with these pumps I would definitely never purchase these again

Answer:	The inlet is in the middle of the pump, in the front. So, whether you stand it up like it is in the picture or lay it down on its side, you would have at least 1", maybe 2" of water left. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Thank you for your question, Kenneth! You cannot place a pump inside this filter. You attach tubing to the front of the filter, and run the tubing to the pump, both of which are submerged. You need a pump between 200 and 2000 gph to operate it. This filter is a pre-filter that helps prevent clogging of the pump in any pond or can be used to completely filter a small pond up to 500 gallons in size.
