Answer:	When I ordered my box in August it was cat6. Said so on the box and the wires were marked as such. However I do not recall the description stating cat 5. I am sure if you ordered it and it was wrong Amazon would allow free shipping for the return. One thing to be mindful is that the order may not come with the crimped and ends (mine did not). Nevertheless when I called Amazon to complain they refunded me 20 bucks. Btw my Ethernet run in buried conduit spanned about 110 ft. No issues; everything works great.

Answer:	I purchased this cable in November of 2012. While most of the cable I have buried sections of the run are not. It may not always be exposed to direct sunlight but it is exposed. I would have to say yes to your question. It is uv resistant. the exposed sections are not brittle or faded. It has held up great for the 1 and 1/2 years I've had it.

Question:	Does the acurite 06014 work with a 01036a1 display? my current exterior weather sensor goes through batteries in a week
Answer:	It only updates every 18 seconds. That's just crazy. Do you know how often the wind changes in 18 seconds ? So the accuracy is a totally zero !! You may step out your door into 30 mile an hour winds but your display shows only 6 miles an hour. Other than that, yep it displays the wind speed albeit from who knows when.
Question:	Can I pair this with Alexa
Answer:	Riley, we have the sensor about 40 feet away from the receiver. My husband mounted the sensor on top of an 8 foot board at the edge of the deck which is 7 feet above the ground to get wind speed, too. It works very well.
Question:	Will this unit handle winter weather
Answer:	Yes, but not as bad as some other units. 5-6 degrees versus 20 degrees.
Question:	Does this need to be mounted on a pole
Answer:	It is very easy. The sensor needs to be 5ft off the ground minimum, in an open area away from buildings and roads (anything that will interfere with wind flow and temperature). We mounted ours on a 6ft pole in our backyard and it works great. Also keep in mind how shade can affect temperature readings. Basically the further away from shade, ground, buildings, and roads is the way to go. And no roof mounts because shingles absorb heat. The description of the product gives you the diameter of an acceptable "pole". Higher the better. The sensor has a lock bolt that allows you to mount it on any pvc, steel, aluminum, or iron pole to the specified diameter. The instruction booklet of this product goes into great detail of where and how to mount the sensor. Again, very easy. This was a gift to my meteorology major wife, and she loves it. Answer:	Don't waste your money, the solar light stopped working 3 months after we bought it, the rain guage is a joke and the thermometer is also a joke.

Answer:	Whole thing is wonky. Wind cups don't spin, thermometer is off. The light works well.

Answer:	No, it is mostly decorative. Temp and rain seem to be accurate.

Answer:	don't bother, it will just break again. there are much better gauges for the data. and never let the gauge freeze. bring it inside when low temps are expected. if the issue is how it looks, leave the broken one in the holder, it is now self emptying

Answer:	It comes with a plastic base that the sending unit mounts to. The base has several holes drilled into it for several mounting positions. But no pole or anything comes with it to get it up high or anything. The base is only a couple of inches tall.

Answer:	Haha! I can actually answer this! I'm right now testing it out, by putting the remote unit in the fridge in my camper. It transmitted just fine to the base unit including when I set the fridge to below 32°F. You can definitely put the remote in other rooms.

Answer:	I don't see any. The instruction manual is for Model 02027 and Model 02022WB.
Question:	Can this be used with batteries only
Answer:	It is wall-mountable but is really made to sit on a horizontal surface. Re wall-mountable: when mounted on a wall the mounting hole is 1" away from the wall so you will need nail long enough to go into the wall and stick out more than 1"; the contact surface against the wall is round, not flat, so you have to play with the power wire in order to get the unit to not hang crooked; the power wire is black so is very obvious on the wall -- the wire really should have been made white; b/c the power comes from a wall outlet your options of where to mount this are more limited. Design-wise, wall mounting was obviously an after thought.

Answer:	We used only rough measurements--bending the tape measure around corners and rounding wall measurements--but the cable reached the device for which we'd measured 150 FEET, with a few feet (maybe 3 or 4?) left over. I'd rely on what the posting says, and if memory serves, it was 150 FEET.

Answer:	I understand your challenge. I've has 3 of these and the suction cups are inadequate. I've tried to attach 3rd party cups but they are not compatible. I now suspend the device with fishing line attached to a hook fixed into the shingles of the house. When the wind blows, however it rattles against the window. One previous one fell off and was broken. The only reason I keep replacing this device is that when it is fully operable it is brilliant. Answer:	No, wifi needed. It has own built in signal from Outdoor temperature sensor, hence sensor needs to be within 330 ft. Range of monitor. (batteries not included. You need two lithium AA BATTERIES for outdoor sensor and three AAA BATTERIES for display unit) Hope this helps. I like mine very much.

Answer:	...hi Dave ~ there is no mechanical way to fine tune or adjust the temperature ~ BUT, you can use the old-fashioned method used ~ keep a firm grip + using a quick wrist action, whip it in a downward motion ~ that will work, albeit, low-tech, it's using basics physics!!!....give it a try...Z
Question:	Is there a wire to hang outside the window for accurate outdoor temp reading
Answer:	There is not a wire extending outdoors. I think the intent is for the thermometer to be installed outdoors. The problem for me is that while the thermometer is very nice, it is not easy to read from a distance so although it is mounted just on the porch, I can't read it from inside.
