User questions & answers
Question: | Why if it Atomic clock do I have to set the time at daylight saving time? Hard to figure out how, please help |
Answer: | I don't think so once you set it DST but the clock is difficult to keep synchronized with WWVB. It's offeten goes no display. Not recommended. |
Question: | Is it battery (if so, details please) or electrical? Wondering about its viability in my travel trailer. Thanks |
Answer: | The base unit uses two CR2032 batteries (shop for best price on this battery it varies greatly from store to store $2 to $0.50 each) - and they need to be changed about every 3 to 4 months. The remote uses 2- "AAA" batteries - again change them as needed - but again 3 to 4 months is good for me. |
Question: | Purchased and love it.. but do have a question. The "IN" (indoor) is constantly blinking. Does it do this or have I set it up incorrectly |
Answer: | Generally I push the up and down arrow so that the word time is blinking. Since the time is the function I use it for least its the least distracting to me. Mines been working fine that way for months so I would say your good |
Question: | newly purchased, used for two weeks and the sensor stopped "sending"...replaced batteries (nothing) used the down button to locate (nothing) HELP |
Answer: | I have had this unit since May 2016. My transmitter batteries failed but I could not get the receiver to get a signal after replacing the batteries. I called Meade to request a replacement under warranty. After a couple troubleshooting steps that did not work I decided to remove the batteries from both the transmitter and the receiver (the set up instructions firmly state that you must put the batteries into the transmitter first. After removing both sets of batteries and starting with the transmitter batteries, I was able to get my receiver to pair with the transmitter. |

Question: | Do I need special batteries? The outcoor temperature reading quits below freezing |
Answer: | There's an instruction on re-setting the unit in the instruction book. That seemed work for us, but it does tend to need re-setting if the temperature goes too low.
