Answer:	No, it's made to snap into a panel cutout. Also, I don't know really how much I'd rely on the numbers. I use it to gauge the temp in my office and mostly I compare the differences form day to day as opposed to knowing exactly what the temp is.

The large (main) display is the humidity and the temperature is displayed (small digits) in the upper right-hand corner. Question:	Is there a replacement probe and cable that is 15 feet long that will work with this thermometer
Answer:	I used one from a different thermometer that was no longer working. It is off from the other about.5 degree. If you are good at soldering, you can oprobably splice in enough wire to reach a good sensor location. I don't know why they did not have a long enough wire to get to the outside of a vehicle.

Answer:	There are no installation papers. Installation is easy. Power is red lead to positive (+) side of power source and black lead to negative (-) side of power source. Dials should be lit now. By pinching one probe with fingers and watching digital dial will tell you which probe is red or blue. If mounting unit cut rectangle hole size of actual body and trim until fits and snaps into place. Then enjoy.

Question:	How do you recalibrate a taylor 9840 thermometer
Answer:	take the battery out, and leave it out for a few minutes is what i did until mine stopped working totally.
Question:	How deep does the tip need to be inserted to get a valid reading
Answer:	To get the best reading I find it needs to be in the center of the meat or whatever you're cooking. For instance if I'm cooking a roast I put it in about half way and wait for the temperature to get to it's reading. Hope this helps.

With this type you have to open the oven once in a while and stick the probe in meatiest part to get the correct temp. After you get a reading you pull it out, turn it off and clean the metal probe, put it back in its sleeve and wait to use it again.

Answer:	I love how they took the same photo of 79.3F 77% and copied it into 4 units. It makes it look like all 4 of these devices would measure exactly the same. Any basic hygrometer needs a calibration +/- adjustment.
Question:	All four i have received cannot be switched from fahrenheit to celsius. when i push a paper clip in the hole in back, there is nothing there
Answer:	All I can say, is on mine, there’s a hole on back that says “C/F”. I push paper clip in that hole and it changes quite easily. However, while doing them all I noticed one wouldn’t change, so I used a large paper clip and it again, easily switched it to Fahrenheit.

Answer:	I would find an extra panel on the dash, an used switch area or a pocket under the radio, and make a polycarbonate panel to swap out and mount the unit from behind.

Answer:	Mine are all at the tops of my aquariums so are subject to high humidity so I do not see why dryness would affect anything

Answer:	It depends on what temperature measurement you wish to get reasons from. For CPU, you'll want to clamp it to the base of the heatsink and if really serious, use a little thermal glue between to sensor and heatsink for most accurate readings. Depending on your heatsink, you may be able to place the sensor between the blades of the heatsink, just be sure to get the sensor to touch the base for best results. If you want ambient temperature of internal heat of the computer, just connect it near the middle of the case not in the direct line of your airway ventilation track and don't let the sensor itself touch anything for best readings of internal computer heat.

Answer:	Yes it does. I noticed when using for temperature wise.... you have to get pretty close to the individual’s skin, unlike what it shows on the diagram. I don’t know how, but my son calibrated the humidity part and the others from Celsius to Fahrenheit

Answer:	Your guess is as good as mine. It stopped working after a couple weeks and we trashed it.
Question:	where is the outdoor sensor placed
Answer:	We can't figure it out. Neither temperature sensor seems to work. Our car has an outdoor temperature sensor so we just use that.
