Answer:	The 2000 can monitor up to 8 external temp/humidity sensors (one of these is dedicated to indoor Temp/Hum + barometric pressure) whereas the 2902A can only monitor one. Since the sensor cluster is the same for three different systems, you can use the display from WS-1900 (like WS-2902A only no WiFi), WS-2902A, or WS-2000.

Answer:	It depends on the part but if the rain gauge fails, the entire sensor array needs replacing. The sensor array is relatively less expensive. Item WS-2902-ARRAY, currently $53.99 + shipping (subject to change).

Answer:	According to the specs I saw at https://weatherstationdepot.com/ws-2902-osprey-review/ the wind speed is averaged over 16 seconds and the wind gust is sampled every second. But is this the average wind gust over the 16 seconds or is it the maximum wind gust over the 16-second period?

Answer:	Yes, but another way to go is to get a cheap tablet and use either a weather app with your data, like weather underground, or a web browser to your data on weather underground or ambient weather. I got a 10" tablet off Walmart's website for $50 and works great next to my bed for viewing my weather info.

The rate of change of barometric pressure is a trend and may be one of several tools to predict weather 24 to 48 hours in advance.

In general, if the rate of change of pressure increases, the weather is improving (sunny). If the rate of change of pressure decreases, the weather is degrading (cloudy or rainy). If the rate of change is relatively steady, it will read partly cloudy or partly sunny (depending on the type of weather station).

The reason the current conditions do not match the forecast icon is because it is a prediction 24-48 hours in advance. In most locations, this prediction is only 70% accurate and it is a good idea to consult the National Weather Service for more accurate weather forecasts. In some locations, this prediction may be less or more accurate.

Answer:	It will link but I have no experience with it. I have the Sig Kilo2200 which is great for ranging. I dont feel I need to link. Take the range, input it to Kestrel, and fire. The Kestrel will link with Kilo2400, but I have not used it.
Question:	does the weather station display the pool temp as well? or is the pool temp only on the floating monitor

Answer:	No, my Kestrel 3500, bought several years ago, does not show Density Altitude, and the certificate of conformity provided by the manufacturer, for all models, and available on line, shows that Density Altitude measurement is provided for the series 4000 and higher model numbers.

They are standard batteries and there is no provision for recharging on the sensor. That would reuire some kind of port to plug in and would compromise water-tightness. I suppose you could use rechargeable batteries but my experience has been that they do not last as long between recharges and sometimes put out slightly less current, so I wouldn't do that. I keep my display unit plugged in so I can't comment on battery life there.

Answer:	Actually, there is. There's a 'key' that fits in a slot on the side of the case. It's there to guarantee the top and bottom can't separate. My experience over three years is there's no way the two parts can not separate in normal use, the seal is 'very' tight. So, just remove the 'key' and slip a piece of string/cord through the hole then tie the string off where you need the sensor to stay.

Answer:	If you shield the RF signals from half the sensors to only be detected by one console, and the other half of the sensors such that they are detected only by the 2nd console, it would likely work. However, note that the two consoles would need to be sufficiently and substantially physically separated.

Answer:	Each chanel is set by a toggle switch that sends a specific frequency to the receiver. If 2 were in the same area I think the signals would be mixed.

Answer:	I have two display consoles and it works great. One upstairs and one on ground floor. I can see both on-line and on phone via app. I set alerts in case HVAC issues, which is great benefit as well. I ordered WS-2902A-CONSOLE-KIT which is what you need.
Question:	Can it only be line of sight
Answer:	Wireless devices transmit a radio frequency (RF) signal, generally in the 400 – 900 MHz range. The manufacturer will rate the maximum transmission distance as line of sight. However, the signal will transmit through walls and other obstructions. The following is a table of reception loss vs. the transmission medium. Each “wall” or obstruction decreases the transmission range by the factor shown below. Medium RF Signal Strength Reduction Glass (untreated) 5-15% Plastics 10-15% Wood 10-40% Brick 10-40% Concrete 40-80% Metal 90-100% RF will not transmit through metal barriers. If you have aluminum siding or a metal roof, it is unlikely the RF signal will transmit through this barrier. RF will not transmit through earth. Answer:	My Accuwrong failed in the 13th month and support from Accurite was horrible at best. I had an Amibeint for over 10 years but the ws 2902 is not working, they sent me 3 replacement units all with the same issue, NOT TRANSMITTING.

Answer:	I don't know about safety of the probes but I can say that the outdoor sensor functions poorly in low temperatures.

Answer:	Clear line of site, probably 100-150'. Walls, trees, floors, can greatly reduce that distance, especially if there is any metal or stone involved. Normal house, probably 20-40', greater to an outside sensor (50'+) only going through one wall. Really depends on location and battery strength. Use fresh alkalines for max distance.

Answer:	Yes, it displays both the indoor and the outdoor by cycling through them. It does not display both at the same time. So, you have a wait a few moments for the display to change to see both indoor and outdoor. I believe this model can handle up to 3 or 4 outdoor sensors, so if you have more than one it will cycle through all of them.

The Display Console

The console also includes an indoor thermometer for monitoring air temperature. The 8-channel selectable switch allows you to monitor temperatures from up to eight different locations. The sensor search mode allows you to re-sync sensors without removing and re-inserting batteries.

The floating pool and spa thermometer (F007PF) is designed to float. If the F007PF is used under a cover and the sensor is constantly submerged, the additional pressure will lead to premature gasket failure. Moisture will enter the sensor compartment and cause sensor failure.

If you use a pool or spa cover, we suggest ordering the temperature probed sensor (F007TP) instead.
