Answer:	I would not use this product in a refrigerator or freezer. The condensate as a result of outside room temp air coming into contact with the chilled refrigerator air will cause corrosion on the unit and not allow it to function properly. The same result will occur in the freezer with frost.

Answer:	Yes, If your thermometer is a unit used for cooking, boil some water and stick the unit in the water to see what it reads. water boils at 212 degrees. On the cold side put some ice in a cup ( more ice than water) should be about 34 or so degrees. If this is a weather temp unit you can still do the cold test. Good luck

Answer:

Hello Jeffrey, Uncertain what process you followed. I would recommend these steps to isolate if the unit is not working as expected. Purchase an 84% boveda pack (small) and put the unit and the boveda pack together inside a ziploc for 3-5 days. Make sure it's away of direct sunlight as well as air vents (heat/cold) as this can impact the results. The hygrometer should give you an accurate result +1 -1. Use the buttons in the back of the unit to adjust the number. If I recall correctly the unit allows for +10 -10 . If after following all this process your unit is still not performing as expected then reach out to the seller for a return/replacement.

First thing First:

To get started you need to insert 2 AAA batteries in the battery tray. The system will initiate to measure the humidity and temperature using as default Fahrenheit degrees.

Install the device on your humidor in a place where air circulates freely. Avoid corners or places where air is being blocked.

You can use the device to replace existing hygrometer if dimensions are the same, otherwise you can use a magnetic mount or Velcro sticky mount to place it in the humidor walls. Please, allow the adhesive plate to dry for 24 hrs. before attaching the hygrometer.

Fahrenheit vs Celsius

To switch the temperature measures between Fahrenheit and Celsius press the °F/°C/CAL switch once. Press it again to switch reading back.

Tracking Max./Min.

This hygrometer has the capability to record the max. and min. values of humidity and temperature allowing you to know how stressed was the environment for a determined lapse of time. Press the switch MAX/MIN once and it will show the maximum values, press it twice to show the minimum. If you press and hold this switch for 5 seconds the system will reset the max./min. values. Replacing batteries will also reset these values.

Calibrate the Device

To calibrate the device you need to press and hold the °F/°C/CAL switch for 3 seconds. After that you will need to use the MIN/MAX switch to adjust the humidity to the desired values. The adjustment ranges go from +/- 6%.
