Answer:	These self closing hinge are designed to be in installed on 2 1/2 terminal post that’s installed with concrete to support the gate . U bolts are then installed around post and hinge assembly slide into (U BOLTS ) MEANING THE LETTER U SHAPE. Then install nuts and tighten where desired usually 6-8 inches from the top of the post and repeat with the lower hinge . Make sure hinge assembly has the the silver adjustment screw facing up as this will be needed to add tention or remove tention . Once installed repeat the same steps to install gate on smaller 1 5/8 U BOLTS . U may have to reposition to open gate in a different direction.

Answer:	The chain links are 3/16 mild steel links. The outside dimensions are 11/16" wide and 1 3/8" long. that's only because of the way the chain is constructed. The inside dimensions of each link is 3/8 x 9/16". I can't attach pics to this response, but it is the typical chain that you might find on a swing set or safety chain. Approximate center to center of the links is 1 3/8".
