These feeders are often designed to hold Nyjer (thistle) seed, a favorite food of finches.

  2. Variety of Designs: Woodlink provides a variety of designs and styles for finch feeders. Some may be tube-style feeders with tiny feeding ports, while others could be mesh or sock-style feeders that allow finches to cling and feed comfortably.

  3. Material and Durability: Woodlink's bird feeders are typically crafted from durable materials like metal, plastic, or wood. They are built to withstand outdoor weather conditions and last for seasons.

  4. Backyard Birding Wildlife: Bird feeders, like those offered by Woodlink, play a crucial role in backyard birding wildlife. They attract a variety of bird species to your yard, allowing you to observe and enjoy these beautiful creatures up close.

  5. Outdoor Decor: In addition to their functional aspect, Woodlink's bird feeders often have decorative features. They can enhance the aesthetic appeal of your backyard or garden while providing a feeding station for birds.

  6. Patio Lawn Garden: Woodlink bird feeders are suitable for placement in various outdoor spaces, including patios, lawns, and gardens. They can add an element of nature and wildlife to your outdoor decor.

  7. Wildlife Conservation: Bird feeders, when properly maintained, can contribute to the well-being of local bird populations, especially during harsh weather conditions or when natural food sources are scarce. This aligns with efforts to support and conserve local wildlife.

When considering a Woodlink bird feeder for finches or any other bird feeder, it's essential to choose one that suits the specific needs and preferences of the birds in your area. Regular cleaning and maintenance of the feeder are also crucial to ensure the health of visiting birds and the longevity of the feeder itself.

User questions & answers

Question: Where is it made
Answer: I dont know where it is made. I paid no attention...it is well made and sturdy and simple to fill.
Question: Are the house sparrows able to get at the thistle as they do with the finch feeders that allow the birds to stand upright? Thanks
Answer: Sorry, no. This feeder is made specifically for bottom-up feeding, which only the golden finch does. Some birds will try it but they fail. The holes are situated below the perch and none are reachable by standing on top of any of the perches, but there are many other feeders listed on amazon that allow any bird to feed. There are only a few of this type. Hope this helps 
Question: is it supposed to come with perches?... Just got mine and there are just empty perch holes no perches
Answer: Yes indeed.. There are three yellow plastic pegs long enough to reach through each parallel hole and sticks out both sides... Hench Perches... If you didn't get the perches... Guess someone messed up... :(
Question: How does one keep the food from getting moldy
Answer: I wash my feeder maybe once a month during the summer with dish soap and a bottle brush. As far as the thistle getting moldy, if you have a lot of finches visiting the feeder the thistle should not sit long enough to mold. Try starting with a smaller amount so it does not sit to long. When my feeder is getting low. I poor out the remaining thistle in to a cup, put in the fresh thistle then add the old to the top, if it is not moldy. That way you are rotating the feed and the older seed on top seems to get eaten first. Finches are picky, the feeder needs to be kept fairly clean. If they "suddenly" quit coming around, its probably time for a good cleaning. Hope this helps :)
Question: Are the top & bottom copper as advertised or, say, copper-colored plastic. Is the tube plastic or glass? Why not include these basics in description
Answer: The top and bottom are copper and stay on tightly to keep water out and seed in, the tube is plastic, but I have not had any issues with it, I am happy as well as my visiting finches with this product
Question: Is a tray available to catch dropped seeds
Answer: There is no tray available with this feeder. I actually purchased it for my mother and it's s pretty feeder. Her only frustration was with the squirrels because they tipped the seeds out of the feeder.
Question: Is the feeder easy to clean
Answer: To be honest I have never cleaned it other than turning it upside down and shaking out left overs before filling again.
Question: Nyjer seed (purchased from a big box store) appears to be too large for the holes? Is their a particular brand of nyjer seed that works best
Answer: No, I have tried several different seeds and none work. The problem is with the feeder. It is beautiful, but not functional. I don’t think the seeds would be small enough if you ran them through a pepper grinder. I returned the feeder and bought another brand.

  • 8 Ports thistle feeder
  • Green top and seed ports

User questions & answers

Question: Is this an upside down finch feeder
Answer: No! Perches are below the ports.
Question: Can this be pole mounted, or is it strictly a hanging feeder
Answer: If the pole is horizontally mounted, I should think the feeder could be placed at the end. There should be a hook or some hardware to keep the feeder secure.
Question: Is the tube itself 15 inches or does that include the metal hanger? How long are the perches. The perches on the 35" feeder look longer
Answer: For the price you get a good product. Is about 15 inch plus hanger. Perches are great for 1 bird only. They are not designed for 2 birds. Just buy it and enjoy life without every detail. It’s just a bird feeder. At times I have 8 birds fighting for a landing spot.
Question: What size screws fit in this finch feeder
Answer: If you are so worried about the size of screws that hold it together. You don’t need it. It’s just a bird feeder. And a good one. Not a Mercedes You need another occupation.
Question: how do you change ports? we want to change from the mixed seed port to the thistle finch port
Answer: Unscrew the screw holding the unwanted ports together and put the ports you want to use in their place then put the screw back in
Question: Is the bottom removable for cleaning
Answer: No ............. It's not, but this unit cleans up pretty nicely anyway. A little water pressure and some soap will clean it like new.
Question: How do you clean it
Answer: I just empty it out and put it in a bucket of soapy water and scrub around with a long handle brush then rinse it really good and let it air dry outside.
Question: How do you keep the seed from getting wet in the rain, because the tube is not solid
Answer: Mesh feeders do let seed get wet. I only use them in the summertime for this reason. An option is to hang it from a weather dome but it's not perfect. However my goldfinches really do prefer mesh to solid tubes.
Question: Is there a tray I can buy to catch the seeds for this feeder? I'm not handy when it comes to making things
Answer: I found this one on amazon .... is it worth the money ??? I dont think so ....the only time i have seeds coming out is when im filling it so i just put it on newspaper when filling and any spillage i just pour it back in the feeder ...any seeds that fall once it is hung feeds the doves . https://www.amazon.com/Woodlink-WLTUBETRAY-Seed-Catch-Tray/dp/B003ZUOFWQ/ref=sr_1_3?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1531922167&sr=1-3&keywords=woodlink+seed+tray

User questions & answers

Question: Can I use this for just sunflower seeds
Answer: Yes. We have had ours for 3 years now and are so very satisfied with the quality. We add a mix of Sunflower and other seeds. But sometimes also only Sunflower. Note: We do suggest to scrape out and wash off the seed residue once each year.
Question: Does this item ship pre-assembled? Is the 10.8 shipping weight correct? Other sellers description of this item show shipping weights of 20 to 30 lbs
Answer: It was ready to use from box. 10 lbs sounds a little light for feeder, I think 20-30 lbs. sounds closer to its weight
Question: I want to hang it over my balcony on the outside so it doesn't get seed all over. Is that possible or is it to heavy
Answer: The feeder fills from the top so your mounting would need to be from the bottom. With seed it would weigh around 15-20 lbs
Question: The description reads "Made of red cedar, real copper and a polycarbonate feeder tube", but some of the reviews state otherwise. Which is correct
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. COPGAZEBO bird feeder is made in the USA of of red cedar with a real copper roof and the feeder tube ispolycarbonate.
