| Answer: | Don't buy it! I have glued the rod in the base 3 times with epoxy and the suction cups do not hold the weight of seed. Very disappointed. |

| Answer: | It depends on what kind of seed you are using and what kind and how many birds you have visiting your feeder. I have never had to refill mine more than once every 2 to 3 days. I usually use shell-less sunflower seeds, which attract a large variety of birds. Some birds, like Mourning Doves, will just come and sit in the feeder, and will knock a lot of food out, and just sit and eat all day, but if you are using Niger seed, or thistle, this tends to just attract finches, and lasts much longer. |

| Answer: | I made a perch out of a small piece of 1x3 board and dowels. I cut the corners of the board into an octagon, drilled a hole into each face and glued a dowel in each hole. I drilled a hole in the center of the assembly and used the hanger bolt to attach it to the bottom of the feeder. This provided a perch for the birds to reach all the holes. You could probably get by with a square piece of board and 4 dowels. Interestingly, I recommended this to the manufacturer as an accessory, via e-mail, but never heard back. |

| Answer: | I have starlings at my other feeders, but this one allows you to set the space between the top dome and the feeder tray by moving the top dome. I leave enough space for chicadees, nuthatches and goldfinches, not enough for bigger birds. |

| Answer: | If your feeder has bee guards (usually yellow or red plastic flowers), and bees continue to hound your feeders, using the tip of your finger, apply light dabs of olive oil around the flowers/bee guards. (Make sure your feeders aren't leaking or nothing will work) Olive oil doesn't hurt the hummers or the bees, but the bees don't like the smell/feel of the olive oil. Don't douse the feeder, just light dabs around the feeders - you'll need to reapply whenever you see bees come back. I have 5-9 feeders year-round (far and away my favorite is the Perky Pet 30 oz glass bottle feeder with the wide mouth for easy cleaning). If you don't have enough hummers to empty the feeder every few days (to ensure the nectar is fresh and the feeders are clean),only partially fill the feeder. Fwiw, I use 1 part sugar to 2-2.5 parts water - as sweet as I can make it while still being easy to dissolve in cold water. The "recommended" 1 to 4 ratio is only there because it forces hummers to visit your feeders more often. However, hummers prefer sweeter nectar and will choose your feeder over your neighbor's so you'll end up with plenty of hummers if there is good nesting areas near you and you keep the nectar fresh and the feeder clean. I have a year-round flock of hundreds of Anna hummers - use about 1200 pounds of sugar every year. |

| Answer: | The drainage holes are small and placed differently on various sized trays. I use a small tooth pick, nail or pin to periodically clean the crap out of the holes from the food. I generaly use a mixture of whole and sunflower hearts, perhaps some mixed type, BUT never niger seed. Have many squirrels, gray and red plus chippies. I have small diameter metal, aluminum or copper, 10 FOOT PIPE, WITH AN APPROXIMATE 2 FOOT L ON TOP AND A SECURED 6 TO 8" heavy rubber strap toward the of the L on which I hang the feeder. I then have 9-10" pipe Sacreted into the ground level or very slightly above the ground ( nothing to hit with lawn mower0 into which I can slide my 10 foot pipe with a squirrel baffle at about 7 feet, to clean and replace food. The ground pipe receptacle is filled with old antifreeze or windshield fluid and I can easily lift out when temp down around 0 to 10 above. The reason for the rubber strap on the L is that I have had Doves, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Grosebeaks, land hard on edge and bounce the feeder off of the hook and fall to ground. The rubber strap absorbs the shock of rough landing and is still short enough to not whip around in the wind. SET UP WORKS WELL AND NO SQUIRRELS IN FEEDER AND EASY TO REFILL. |

| Answer: | Unfortunately, as clumsy as Doves are, they seem to manage to get on almost any type of feeder. You could try putting a tray of inexpensive bird food under the feeder and see if they will eat on the ground instead. We have the same problem with Doves but we still enjoy watching. |

| Answer: | The problem with post-mounting would be squirrels. They will climb up the post and start chewing the plastic parts to get to the seeds. I had mine hanging in a tree and they destroyed it! Now I have it on a birdfeeder pole with a squirrel deterrent. Hope this helps. |
