Answer:	Hi Elizabeth, sorry for the delay. The base on mine measures 8 7/8 inches by 14 inches (dimensions outside the frame). Inside the frame (where the seed would go) measures 7 1/2 inches by 12 5/16 inches. Hope that helps. I would add that some have called the bottom a wire mesh or screen. I would call it a metal (steel) plate with holes for drainage. The holes are small enough to prevent sunflower seeds from falling through, but some (some) millet seeds are about the same size as the holes. Mine is attractive and sturdy. I like it.
Question:	Does it come with pole mount hardware
Answer:	No, doesn't come with hardware to mount on pole. I removed middle board under screen and screwed that board into a wood post. Then put house (with screen) over middle board I had previously screwed to post) and screwed thru the screen into place. You aren't able to remove the screen to clean it. We also put a aluminum stove pipe over the post to prevent the squirrels from jumping up. You have to put the stove pipe on post before mounting the house.

Answer:	I gave it for gift. Don't remember pole fittings on bottom. There is a screen but it is not all the way through. More of a screened layer. It is quite heavy.

Answer:	No. It has to be hung from the top loop.
Question:	How does the top come off to fill with bird seed? My dad is 95, he love watching the birds, but has trouble turning the screws off the tops of feeders
Answer:	There are no screws in the top. He can just lift it off for filling. My husband said that if a squirrel can get it off, so could your Dad. This did not happen to us, but one buyer said this when we were reading reviews before purchasing the feeder. We love it! Had it now for months.

Answer:	By itself I would say no, but if you hang it under a big baffle that you know to be squirrel proof if should work. This feeders claim to fame is you can adjust the height of the collar above the feeding stations to control the size of the bird that can perch and feed. And it holds a lot of seed, so if you keep out the blue jays, crackles and such, the seed can last a while between fillings.

Question:	Would this work with a wine bottle
Answer:	Several customers have told us they use it on wine bottles but those threads can very between bottlers so we cannot say for sure. Since there is an "access door" on the bottom for refilling, you do not need to unscrew the bird feeder attachment from the bottle once it is attached. If the fit isn't perfect, You could use some glue to make a good fit on the bottle and use the access door for refilling. Another idea would be to take the cap from a Soda Bottle and see if it fits on your wine bottle. The threading on the bird feeder is the same as the threading on a soda bottle (not a water bottle). Answer:	It depends if there was a feeder there before. I bought replacements so our birds are use to having feeders in the areas. If you're putting out new feeders, it won't take any longer than any other type feeder, a few days at most. They are the easiest feeder as we always have new bottles, so we just keep 4 filled it the garage waiting to be hung. When the 4 in the yard are either empty or the feeder soaked from the rain we just replace with one from the garage and fill or clean the others. Easy-peasy
Question:	What is the dimension of the actual dish
Answer:	Don’t waste your $. The dish is so small that no bird can sit on it. Also, the soda bottle would need chewing gum to seal the holes for the hanger. Spend $20 and get a copper-top circular feeder that most birds can sit on. Holds plenty. Squirrels are your worst enemy, so hang it high. Or get a pole. This is a GREAT hobby, and useful too.
