Question:	How do i get a replacement base
Answer:	I have 2 of your hummingbird feeders and I just love them. My problem is that when the temperature gets hot outside 70 to 80 degrees they both start leaking around the rim of the base all over the patio. If it is not that warm out they don’t leak at all. I have tried putting in new ring sealers and that still doesn’t help. Should I get new bases?

There is an rubber seal around the bottom that is supposed to keep the water in, but not matter how we adjust it or how tightly the part is screwed in, there are pretty serious leaks. It's getting the hummbird juice all over the place! If there is no solution this product is defective -- it should last longer than 6 months.

Question:	Can I replace the jar with a real wide mouth mason jar
Answer:	I don’t think the opening of this jar is quite as wide as a standard mason jar. So, I would say no.
Question:	Is the perch removable
Answer:	Let me answer in two part as the answer is YES and NO. 1. For filling the feeder YES the perch and the feeding holes component do unscrew from the jar for filling. But if you are asking if the perch can be removed, just to have it removed ... 2. NO. The bottom of the 3 pieces (the perch) needs to be screwed into the jar with the feeder holes part just being the in-between-component.
Question:	is this dishwasher safe
Answer:	Would strongly suggest to just hand wash. I purchased these because of their easy fill capability and this also makes it easy to wash by hand.
Question:	will this attract birds without any red? I dont use dye in my feeder
Answer:	Yes. We do not use any dye in either of our 2 feeders, and the hummingbirds just love eating (drinking?) from them! Question:	What can you use in a outside feeder so the water will not freeze
Answer:	This is Texas. Hummingbird’s arrive in May and leave 1st cold snap in October. Water barely freezes in Dec/Jan. It’s 73 out right now.
Question:	Does this product have expiration date
Answer:	I don't know about an expiration date. I dumped it in a baggie and labeled it. However I will let you know that I didn't get any hummingbirds with this mixture but after making my own I had quite a few everyday. 1 cup sugar to 4 cups water, bring to boil for 2 minutes and then let cool. Store leftovers in the refrigerator. I just adjusted the quantities and made enough for 2 feeders.
Question:	What makes it red? I have heard that when making your own hummingbird nectar, that you should forego putting food coloring in it
Answer:	Please don't buy anything with artificial red color. The Audubon Society recommends making your own with regular sugar. 4 parts water to 1 part sugar. (1/4 cup sugar to 1 cup boiling water).

Answer:	No, it's made in China. Unfortunately most of the product that Amazon sales they are from China.
Question:	do I need to bring in during cold weather
Answer:	No you should not. It may stay outside. But in cold climate, like here in WA state, we have hummingbirds only for summer. But during winter it's play like decoration in my backyard.

Answer:	No you cannot. The top is a glass "well" onto which the light/lid is screwed. You have to take the bottom off and invert it to fill it.
Question:	If we hang it with the ant moat what’s the use of the S hook? Just an extra hook
Answer:	I think it's provided in case you need it. If you don't need it then don't use it. I use it along with a very long hook to hang it from the gutters and it works great.

Answer:	No. The sugared water is in a doughnut/ring around a small central moat. The metal hanger screws into a raised plastic center post within the center moat. The metal hangar would not contact water even if the moat was full of water.

But do realize that they should be migrating South for the winter so you may not see any. Or you may see lots since they seem to still be on the move and very hungry, at least in my area of northern california. I had dozens this afternoon, but soon they should be gone until spring. They love this feeder.

To feed they go down into the flowers as they sit rather than flying and going up into it so with several types of feeders in the yard they always go to these feeders as they drink easier....

Answer:	i usaully fill the jar to the brim, after capping the jar... i grab the top of the jar (plastic part with hook) then grab the very bottom of feeder (plastic part with flower sippers and foot parking spaces) turn right side up very quickly....and gravity will do the rest... have not lost a sip since i purchase the feeders... they love it !

Answer:	I have 3 of the models offered here: 2 Ruby, 1 Diamond & 1 Orion/Twist; I've never experienced any "bee" or "ant" issues. I take down my feeders every 3 days in warm weather, dump the remaining homemade nectar (the only nectar I use and without any food coloring) and thoroughly wash all parts, inspect for mold and air dry. Warm weather I do this every 3 or 4 days. Once with another hummingbird feeder I had ant issues but it had a holder that was staked into a flower pot...never used it again.
