Answer:	Yes it can be used in an electric smoker. I have never smoked anything over 300 so that’s the highest temp I’m aware of. I usually smoke around 250 depending on my cut of meat.

The button to open this lid is round and large, the backpack is a slender oval. Your bottom lip rubs against the button on this one and doesn't the backpack. You can get colors in this one and the backpack comes in silver, black, grey and a brown color that is very nice. I agree with ciess about the delicate lid. I have 4 backpack and 1 of these and I'm taking this one back to the store. I used it twice and do not like it. I wanted it because the length of staying cold is 24 hrs instead of 12. I didn't have my soda in there that long so don't know it that part is true or not. I've dropped my backpack ones several times and only once did the lid break. And that was because it had a fresh soda in it and the carbonation made it explode upon contact with the floor. I called the company and ordered several replacement lids to have on hand if need be. Also this one won't fit in a jean pocket, I have put my backpack in the front pocket of my jeans since it's more slender. I haven't tried putting this one in a car console but the backpack fits just fine. Hope that helps.
