Answer:	I had the same grill for years. This is the replacement for the one that lasted over 20 years. I can't be sure what the grill is made of but it appears to be steel with a coating of a heat resistant paint. The only change I could see was the racks on the end are now fake wood instead of real wood.
Question:	to clean the cooking surface do you use a wire brush or a nylon brush
Answer:	I place a grill mat on the grill. When finished grilling, remove the mat and just wipe grill with a wet cloth if needed. Wash grill mat and put back on grill for next time. Would not use wire brush as I have heard the wires can break off an be ingested. Grill still likes new with this process and have grilled 3x per week since purchase. Love this grill.
Question:	How can you use hickory or misquite wood chips with this unit
Answer:	You just lay a handful of the small chips on the bottom tray next to the heating elements. It's easy and makes lots of smoke for flavor.

Question:	Is it big enough for a rack of ribs
Answer:	There is plenty of room for a "rack of ribs" but not ribs on a rack. I didn't realize this before I bought mine but still love it -- with an electric grill the heat does not circulate throughout, like it does on a charcoal or gas grill, and therefore the ribs wouldn't cook well. It is made for steaks, chicken, hamburgers, fish, etc. and not large items like whole chickens, roast, etc.

Answer:	No. I knocked off a star because of difficulty of cleaning the grill. From my Review:I would give it five stars except for difficulty in thorough cleaning. The non-stick grilling surface wipes clean easily but the grilling plate does not come off.The entire grill has to be taken to the sink, or washed with a hose outside. It's not heavy, but awkward over my sink.The grease tray pulls out and can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher. Answer:	I don't know what Teresa is talking about. First, you can find the wattage of the heating element in the specs. Second, the heating service on ours is extremely even. If hers does not heat evenly, then there is a problem with it. I would definitely recommend this product.

Answer:	I wonder...what about pre-soaking the wood chips...and then bundling them up inside some tin foil, and then placing THAT on top of the cooking grate? Perhaps just the combination of the heat and the wet chips, might still do the trick, and safely??

Answer:	I cooked on mine for the first time last night. It was a 1" ribeye. I preheated on 5 for 15 minutes. I put the steak on for 5 minutes and then turned it for another 4 minutes. It came out perfectly medium rare and juicy.
Question:	Does anyone else have trouble with the temp dropping around 300 degrees
Answer:	Like many others, I bought this electric grill because my apartment complex does not allow gas or charcoal grills ("no open flames"). And I too noticed the major drop in temperature when I open the lid. There's a simple and inexpensive way to ameliorate this problem. Go to your local home improvement store and buy a brick. I got one from one of the big national chains for $0.58. Put it under the grill grate. It's that simple. The principle is the same as leaving a pizza stone in your oven all the time; the grill will take longer to heat up (yes, even longer than it already does normally), but that brick will act like a big thermal capacitor and the temperature inside the grill won't plummet when you open the lid. I turn my grill on about 30 minutes before I'm ready to cook. Really not much worse than waiting for a chimney of hardwood charcoal to ash over. I do like this grill. Adding some hardwood chips does give me a smokey flavor. But if I would prefer a gas or charcoal grill if my apartment complex allowed it.

Answer:	BBQ enthusiast here. You can either use a smoker box (they are about $15, solid stainless steel), or just wrap the chips in a couple layers of aluminum foil and poke small holes in the top and bottom with a toothpick. Try to cook on a lower setting for a longer period of time to give the meat a chance to absorb the smokey taste, rather than roasting it at max heat. The chips should be completely blackened and spent after about 30-40 minutes at medium heat. The taste is fantastic, and easily more pronounced and enjoyable than just drenching the meat in liquid smoke or mesquite BBQ sauce.

Answer:	This grill is deal for indoor grilling. The infrared heat technology will produce less smoke than ordinary grills but not 100% smoke-free when cooking foods with lots of oil and fat. In this case, please use the smoke-less grill under a range good for better smoke control.

I love rare steak, and have grilled thick rib eye, rib, and filet mignon on my Tenergy Redigrill, and it does a MUCH better job than my charcoal grill, my gas or electric range (have gas grill in town and electric at my cabin), electric counter top grill, or oven (bake or broil). My favorite way to grill is to take a thick steak, create pockets in it with a sharp ceramic knife, slicing FRESH garlic (not/not powder or the bottled minced or chopped garlic) to create garlic arrows, and insert the arrows into the steak. Then grind pepper corns (my favorite is green peppercorns, but black telecherry peppercorns are good too), then follow the directions for the Tenergy Redigrill, turn the control to the keep warm position for a few seconds, then to "on" for 7 or more minutes, use nylon or silicone (not metal) head tongs, place the steak on the grill, and within 8 to 15 minutes, you will have a beautifully grilled steak. This grill produces almost no smoke, and is easy to clean with non-abrasive brush or sponge, easier than a pan and MUCH easier than a charcoal grill. Just writing about it makes my mouth salivate, and I just ate lunch. I love this thing, it's the best kitchen implement I have purchased.

Answer:	The ease of cleaning the grill (the part that the food rests on) is possibly the best part about this grill. It's easy and the metal cleans nicely. The shortcomings of the grill are that the drip tray doesn't catch all the drippings so I have resorted to putting a pan under the grill but I still get grease splatter all over the tile floor of my balcony. Also, the temperature controller cycles on and off so cooking time is uneven and unpredictable and it never gets hot enough to sear anything. I'm waiting for it to die and then replace it. I have read some reviews that rate the Weber electric grill highly so hopefully that's a better choice.

Answer:	I have owned both Char-Broil & Weber electric grills. The Weber is significantly superior, in every aspect. It is also larger than the Patio Bistro.
Question:	For the q2400 electric grill is there a preferred or special brush needed for cleaning
Answer:	I use Weber 6493 21-Inch 3-Sided Grill Brush because the wire sides clean between the grates nicely. I also use Grill Mat by Grillaholics-it goes on top pof the grill and prevents juices and fat from reaching the grates, burners or other parts of the grill. However, my wife thinks it inhibits the formation of grill marks on steaks, but I don't. (I use it only on my side of the grill. The grill is the easiest to clean I have ever had. I soak the grates and put them in the dish washer along with the grill mat.
Question:	What voltage and amperage is required for this item
Answer:	The listed power requirement is 1560 Watts (that would be peak power.) In the US, the voltage at most home outlets is between 110 and 120 V DC. (There are reasons for this, and I'm not going to go into them.) Assuming that we have 1560 Watts, divided by 110 Volts, the current draw will be about 14 Amps (Current = Watts/Volts.) At 120 Volts at the outlet, and 1560 Watts at full power, the current draw will be 13 amps. This means if your patio outlet is on a 15 Amp breaker/fuse, you're probably going to pop the breaker or blow the fuse when you first turn it on if you jack it up to full power with a quick flip of your wrist (this depends on what else is on the circuit.) If it's on a 20 amp fuse/breaker, you're probably going to be fine. What I do is disconnect/turn off everything else on the circuit (my inside electric fireplace and outside light is on the same circuit,) turn it on to the medium heat (which is about 750 watts, which means about 7 amps) then slowly turn it up to full power to pre-heat, over a minute, so I don't pop my breakers. I don't use an extension cord on mine, because of where the outlet is, but if you need to use an extension cord, use a 20 amp rated, 3 pronged, grounded outside cord, and keep the length as short as possible (3-6 feet.) The cord has a resistance, which means that you're going to get a voltage drop per foot of cord. 3-6 feet, depending on the cord, won't really affect the heat of the grill, but a 20 foot cord will, and you'll have searing problems at the highest heat.After that, it's a nice, little, hot grill.
