One 100 watt solar panel will be about 21.6 volt open circuit (Voc) and about 17.9 volts optimum operating voltage (Vmp). Now the grid tie inverters will show you a DC input range. One will be about DC10.8-30V and the other will be about DC20-45V. To answer the question if you buy the grid tie inverter with the input range of 10.8 to 30 volts you can use one 100 watt solar panel (VOC of 21.6 solar must be in the input range of the inverter). One 100 watt solar panel is the minimum panels. This is extra information to help you understand. Wiring two 100 watt solar panels in series doubles the VOC and VMP output. If the 100 watt solar panels are wired in series you can see that doubling the VOC (43.2 vdc) and VMP (35.8 vdc) will require the other grid tie inverter that has an input range of DC 20 to 45 volts. That seemed low at first to me, yet it makes sense in that each device has ~80% efficiency. So that made me ask this question to several OEMs: "Does the 1000W rating of the inverter mean it can put out 1000W AC (with sufficient input like 1100W DC), or is it max 1000W DC (leading to ~800W AC max)?" Most have responded "It can produce 1000W AC, yet we don't suggest loading it 100% like that." So based on my experience above I'd be comfortable putting ~1200 watts in panels on a 1000W unit that will lead to ~1000W DC input and ~800W output most of the time. Otherwise you can connect up any lesser quantity and expect the lesser AC outputs (as well as reduced output from limiter functions if on that model). |

Those s[lit phase inverters will power both L1 and L2 of your breaker panel. The other part of your question has more than one answer. If these single phase (120V) inverters are stackable and grid tie capable, then yes, two of them could act like a split phase inverter and power both lines of your breaker panel. But, the input sides of the inverters, coming from the solar panels, have to be isolated. Do not tie all the solar panels to both inverters. Tie half of the panels to one inverter and the other half to the second inverter. Full disclosure, I don't have any of these inverters and have no affiliation with the company making or selling them. Answer: | The seller has a formula on the web page that with your 4 panels comes down to: 1040 watts*.8*.9=748 watts as the maximum you would get. That is using 80% panel efficiency and 90% inverter efficiency from the seller. I don't understand the answer that says you should be getting 900 watts. That's 86% efficiency which exceeds the solar panel efficiency alone. That is just wrong. Maybe the more expensive micro inverters would achieve the 748 watts for you. I have never forked out the money for one yet but I will just to see. I have 50 solar panels in the back with various cheap grid tie inverters like this one and have been playing with solar for about 5 years. I can never get much better than 50 to 60% and I have tried everything. Well, I did spray water on a 1700 watts of panels to cool them and achieved just over 1100 watts on a clear sunny day but that isn't practical. |

Answer: | You likely can run multiple inverters (like 2) on the same circuit, but realize that if you were getting 1000 watts from each at 120V (or 8 amps each) then 16 amps can be over a 15 amp circuit rating. There's not a great chance of you getting a full 1000 watts (unless you have ~1200 watts in panels feeding each), so that risk is pretty low. Another item to think about is where you have the inverter plugged in on your circuits wiring (if you know how your house is wired which I hope you do). Lets say you have 4 outlets wired in the garage on one circuit and I'll call them outlet 1 nearest to the breaker box and outlet 4 furthest away with them all wired down the same chain of wires. Some may think of plugging in the inverter to outlet 1 so the energy goes the shortest distance back to the breaker box, but that may not be the best choice. If you were to have the inverter feeding 8 amps into outlet 1 and began running tools (like an air compressor and power saw) on outlets 2 & 3, you could be pulling 25 amps down the wires between outlet 1 and 2 without the breaker popping (since 8 comes from the inverter and ~17 comes from the grid staying under a 20 amp breaker limit at the box). Such is pushing the limits on the wires where they could be heating up in the walls without you realizing it. Yet if you were to have the same tools running but the inverter plugged into outlet 4 (at the end of the chain), then you'd only have the 17 amps coming from the breaker box down to outlet 2, say 12 amps going to the tool on outlet 2 means only 5 amps goes down the wire between outlet 2 and 3, and the tool at outlet 3 gets 13 amps (8 from the inverter and 5 from grid combined). In this situation no wire has over 20 amps thru it and if the inverter alone is feeding power back thru everything it's only the 8 amps (again well under the 20 amp rating). So that may be something to consider about where you plug it in and why since multiple power sources can put the wires under higher loads like that (and feeding one source at each end is safer than all from one end of the wire chain). |

Answer: | You can connect to any DC source, but these are intended for going direct to solar panels. The MPPT feature is literally trying to collect "maximum power" and convert everything it can to AC constantly, but it expects clouds to come at times as well as night to come where it shuts down when solar power feed is dead. If connected to batteries, it assumes they are solar panels in good sun and pulls everything as quick as it can out of them until drained. I did such recently with a similar inverter and it pulled ~29 amps at 26V (from 2 12V batteries wired in series) draining my 100 amp-hour batteries in 3 hours. So you need to do manual control with batteries expecting such, otherwise you can plug them into panels and forget about them where it automatically comes on when the sun is out and stops when night comes 24/7. |

Answer: | Many meters assume any power flow thru them is you using power, so it is possible for you to be feeding them power and getting charged for it. I'd assume that to be the case unless you have reason to believe otherwise on your house meter. To get a 2-way meter from the power company requires jumping thru all the hoops of permits, inspections, etc and they may not approve of these inverters for not being "UL1741" certified or such, so many don't want to go down that road. If you are sure you're using all the power this produces, it could be run and will reduce the power bill, but many aren't sure they'll have something running 24/7 to use the power constantly like that. So that's where the inverters with a "power limiter/detector" have started coming out to be sure you'll use the power before the inverter starts producing it. Of course that leads to 0 energy produced at times when you're not using it, but many will say "Better 0 production than higher charges for giving them back power". Some may even consider getting batteries to recharge during the times when power isn't needed, yet batteries can cost a bunch and always has the dilemma of "It's best to keep the batteries full for longer life and being ready for outages, yet to always have room for storing more power requires they be partly drained, so how drained do I keep them and not be going too low constantly?" Fun to try to come up with an answer to that dilemma. Going all grid-tied with the 2-way meter lets you use the "grid" as your battery getting credit for what's produced and can use it later (without needing to buy batteries), but again needs the permits etc (showing reasons some may go each way). |

Answer: | If your display is flashing or the reading seems out... (also if the reading stays 0 you probably have the wires from the shunt the wrong way round)The problem is the length of wires from where the shunt is (if it is not right next to the battery) causes a voltage drop across the cable that influences the reading and in most causes will cause the meter to flash as I suspect this is the over-read indication. (I am using three meters to measure two banks of solar panels and a wind generator)Solution: tie the battery side of the shunt wire to both 0v points on the meter . i.e. bridge the two inner pins of the connector and take the wire only to the shunt, this then takes the voltage drop over the cable to the battery out of the equation. |

Answer: | It is neither of those. The Energy section measures how much power you have used over time, i.e., the cumulative total of watt-hours. A watt-hour is equal to one watt of power used over the course of one hour. If you have a 5-watt LED bulb and you power it for 3 hours, your Power reading would consistently read 5 W for the whole time you're powering the bulb ("real time," like a speedometer), and the Energy reading would gradually change from 0 to 15 Wh over that 3-hour period (cumulative total, like an odometer). |

Answer: | thank for your question. you are asking an DC11-28v inverter, the inverter's DC fuse is 35amps, battery bank's amps can't over 35amps, otherwise the inverter's fuse will be burned. so if you hook with battery bank (2x 12v in series), this is MPPT voltage range, the inverter can run the max output power, if your battery give 500w power to the inverter, the inverter can produce about 400-430w power, because our inverter is about 80-83% efficiency when it is hot. if your battery bank's total power is 500w, and feed our inverter, we think it can keep about 1 hour, we didn't test with battery bank exactly, because this inverter was designed for solar panel, we usually test it with solar panel. any questions, please feel free to contact us. thanks. |

Answer: | I'd not expect any grid-tied inverter to work with generators. There's a few issues with such. First, when a generator is running with no load it may be at 3600 rpm keeping a good 60 hz, but when you turn on a load (especially bigger ones like a space heater) the generator will begin to stall from the load, the slowing makes the speed governor raise the throttle and it slowly "catches up". Even though it may be brief, that cycle of speed changes drops the 60 hz to 55 or such and messes up the grid tied inverter being able to stay in sync. That would likely happen often enough that every time it starts to get into sync, it kicks out again and won't ever be really doing much. I even had a generator end up "hunting" where it would constantly rev to "catch up", then slow from overspeeding, then rev again etc until I went and slowed the throttle movement to help it find a steady speed (and that would be especially bad for the GTI). Another concern I have is being able to use all the power from the GTI constantly. I think of the GTI like a water pump that constantly is sending water uphill into a huge lake that always can take everything you send it. Even with such a pump running 24/7 for months under that condition, if you were to run it pumping constantly to your house but didn't have a shower going or such to take flow constantly you could burn up the pump in an hour. Likewise with GTI units if you don't use all the power they are trying to send (with it expecting the grid to always take it all) you may have voltage spikes and such that can be bad on the house system. So these issues show why I'd not try using any GTI units with generators and on a limited house system. |

Answer: | It may accept wind power if in the 22-50V range, but there's other things to consider. I've seen some info on setting up wind systems suggesting that if you stop using the power (for charging batteries or such), then you must send the power to something else even if it's just heating elements to waste it. That way the sudden release of the load doesn't double the speed of your windmill and allow it to "run-away" to speeds that may destroy it. Unfortunately this does not "divert" a load, rather only shuts off power use and doesn't have a way to activate other equipment. So I'd look into other equipment or details like those for the wind system you're considering before trying an inverter like this. |

Answer: | As long as the output of the panel is in the "20-50V" range it should be OK. Beware that many panels labeled "12V" have actual output of ~18V at max wattage and may have "open circuit voltage-22V" or such. The same pattern is true for "24V panels" having ~36V output loaded and near 50V open circuit where this model is intended for those. Look for those details on the panel. |

The highest rated inverter you had listed was the 600W inverter which puts out a maximum wattage actually under 600W, but for arguments sake if the inverter actually could produce 600W @ 110V A/C that is roughly only 5.5 amps, well below the 15 amp rating of a standard outlet. Personally I amnot fond of this inverter either, perticularly because it is very inefficient unless it's operating very close to the maximum D/C input voltage. |

Answer: | thank for all your reply. your suggestion are very good. but for this inverter is 500w, it iss the max AC output is 500w, not DC input. and the inverter has own efficiency too, for example, DC11-28v is 80-83%, DC22-56v is 85-90%. so they can accept different DC input. 500/0.8=625w, 500/0.85=588w. but as your panel's quantity and watts, you may need a 1KW grid tie inverter. it can accept 1000/0.8=1250w DC input(for DC11-28v inverter), you only has 1040w panels, no problem for the inverter. and just for a reminder, please ensure the DC input voltage is within our inverter's DC range, otherwise it can't work properly. |

Answer: | it seems that your panel is not 12v or 24v system. but it can suit for our DC22-56v inverter too. you can use the panel in series or in parallel, but we suggest you hook them in series. because if it is in series, the voltage is 27.4+27.4=54.8v, it is within our DC range, and when the DC input voltage is high, the input amps is less, the inverter's temperature is low, it has more higher efficiency. if you use in parallel, it can work too, but the voltage is not MPPT range, and it is low voltage working status, the inverter has less effieciency.also, you can use DC11-28v inverter, in parallel. it is within the dc range too. |

Answer: | This will backfeed into the phase to which it is connected. This means that the energy output will flow from the inverter into the outlet it is plugged into, then to any loads connected to that outlet and the Associated circuit breaker. If there is any energy left it will then flow through the buss in your main breaker panel to the other circuits connected to that phase. If there's still more energy left after that then it will backfeed to your meter. Keep in mind that there will still be energy consumed by the other phase so the meter will not necessarily spin backward. |

Wish there was a better selection (like something besides "120V BLUE" and "120V GOLD" since they show a silver one as well) and/or more details. |
