11 best gowe charge controllers

Gowe charge controllers are devices used in renewable energy systems, particularly in solar and wind power setups, to manage and regulate the flow of electrical energy between the energy source (such as solar panels or wind turbines) and the batteries or electrical loads. Here's what you should know about Gowe charge controllers:

  1. Regulation of Energy: Gowe charge controllers play a crucial role in maintaining the health and efficiency of batteries in renewable energy systems. They prevent overcharging and over-discharging of batteries, which can damage them and reduce their lifespan.

  2. Types of Controllers: Gowe offers various types of charge controllers, including PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation) and MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) controllers. PWM controllers are more basic and cost-effective, while MPPT controllers are more advanced and efficient.

  3. PWM Charge Controllers: PWM charge controllers work by regulating the voltage from the solar panels or wind turbines to match the battery voltage. They are effective in preventing battery overcharge, but they are not as efficient at extracting maximum power from the energy source as MPPT controllers.

  4. MPPT Charge Controllers: MPPT charge controllers are considered more advanced because they track the maximum power point of the energy source and convert it efficiently for battery charging. This results in higher energy conversion efficiency and can be especially beneficial in systems with fluctuating weather conditions.

  5. Efficiency: Gowe MPPT charge controllers are known for their high efficiency, which means they can maximize the energy harvested from solar panels or wind turbines, leading to faster battery charging and improved system performance.

User questions & answers

Question: What connection wires are required to put 2 of the rover 100a in parallel, as advertised
Answer: It’s designed for 12 volt batteries but I’d be more concerned about the size of your solar panel- not to exceed the following rating for that controller. Rated Charge Current: 20A Max. PV Input Voltage: 26V
Question: Can these be stacked
Answer: In theory, Wattage=VoltageXAmps. A 100W panel at 14V will put out 7A, and at 12V, around 8A. If you string three together and they were operating at 100% efficiency, you could theoretically exceed the capacity, but that would be rare. However, I won't say you can use 3 just because of that possibility.
Question: can i use 2 400w panels and charge 2 12v 100w lithium iorn batteries
Answer: Thank you for the question! The negative 20a Voyager is an older model that will not have an activation mode for Li batteries. The new version both PG and NG will be able to activate Li batteries. Thank you, M.S.
Question: Can i safely connect six (6) 160w renogy solar panels (each with 20v open voltage and 8a) to this charge controller
Answer: yar, upside doin tyo

User questions & answers

Question: If a conect my panels and my batteries to 24 v what will be the voltage that I¨ll recibe in the in load terminals
Answer: Let say solar panel produce 36Vdc And battery voltage is 27Vdc The load terminal is about 27Vdc
Question: What version of the 20amp model is being sold here from amazon? per the manufacturer website, renogy bt, is optimized for rover charge controllers f
Answer: This is last year's model and currently sold out here the Renogy website and eBay. New models coming. Rich solar still has them at $89.00 for the 20amp..but offers no bt module
Question: Can I disconnect the battery while the solar collector is still connected
Answer: No, I dont think that's a good idea since they say connect batteries first the solor panels. If you was to shut ur system down, the go in reverse. Panels discount then battery.
Question: Is anyone having problems with hf / vhf radio interference (rfi
Answer: On MPPT and PMI controllers of different brands, RFI particularly in the VHF & UHF bands can be extreme. The solar panels do act as large antennas transmitting the interference. Some fairly simple decoupling circuitry can help. Right at the PV input, i've used a large forward diode into a large, CPU-grade electrolytic along with common-mode chokes on wiring before the diode. On the controller outputs, a "Corcom" type pi-filter helps a lot, but components in series with the output must accept full output current without much voltage drop. This can get rid of about 99% of RFI without too much problem. I do use solar and wind turbines for power at my off-grid property and run amateur radio equipment from 70 cm to 160 meter bands.

User questions & answers

Question: Is the 100 30 just for the max voltage and current on the input? ie... can it put more that 30 amps at 12 volts on the output
Answer: Don't connect at the same time. Simultaneous connection will damage the controller. If the controller is damaged, the battery may be overcharged if it is not found. It is not recommended to connect at the same time. You can install an air switch at the connection between the generator and the controller and the battery. Disconnect the charge controller when the generator is used for charging. Disconnect the generator when using the controller to charge
Question: How much power does the Bluetooth pull when panels are not active
Answer: Please refer to page 19 of the manual for the different settings. They only affect the timed 'Load' terminals on the controller and should be low current carrying, like an LED, small pump or a relay. Anyway the 'bulb' blinks to indicate an overload condition.

User questions & answers

Question: Using with a deep cycle flooded lead acid battery. using the app the only battery presets are for agm gel, lithium and pzs. which preset should i use
Answer: This controller is designed to work with a battery powered system. The PWS pool pump has an MPPT controller that works differently from the one used here to charge a battery. It is designed to turn that solar energy into immediate use power to run your pump. This unit will not work straight of the box with the system you have. In order to get this to work you would need a battery bank, and a DC-DC converter with enough voltage and amperage capacity. Doing that you could run the pump day and night because the battery takes over when the solar input is out.
Question: Can this charge controller be used with pws 72v 1.6hp solar powered swimming pool
Answer: No, you would need to go with the new 100|20 model (will charge 12V, 24V, 36V or 48V). If you cannot find the newer model 100|20 than look for the older 100|20 48V (only) model.
Question: Can this be used to charge a 48 volt golf cart battery bank
Answer: Installing electronic components in a battery compartment is not a good practice, assuming you have lead acid batteries. Off-gassing from the batteries during charging can corrode the electronics. If you're using AGM or gel batteries, off-gassing wouldn't be an issue.
Question: Can controller be installed in battery compartment (somewhat limited in space). RV application, 2-6volt batteries, 1-100 watt panel
Answer: Dear customer, Thanks for your question. 1.We can supply 2000watt version, but it's not our regular model and need to customize. 2.Could your tell us how power do you need solar panel and wind system? Best regards PIKASOLA Inc

Question: What does the time setting 00H mean
Answer: Yes, it can; You only need to set PV off = full voltage of lithium battery;
Question: Will this work with lithium ion batteries
Answer: Don’t think so you need a midnight charge control or three. Cost you about 1500
Question: Does this controller do an automatic equalization charge on schedule
Answer: That depends on your solar panels. If its 100a then its rated at 1200 watts. So you could supposedly have 1200 peak watts of solar. Remember that solar panels vary in voltage and amperage as they experience different sunlight.
Question: What is the maximum rated current for the load output? max charging output is 100a, is the load current the same
Answer: Yes, it's a 5.5mm x 2.1mm plug.

Answer: + terminal goes to + terminal on battery& - terminal goes to - negative terminal which is the one that is normally ground. Unless you are talking about a boat or RV with a positive ground system which is rare. For PV panel home install the battery and the loads are as indicated above . I am running a 100 watt panel , 35Amp AGM battery , and run radio transmitting/receive equipment and computers. and controller is not creating noise on the radio equipment. So far works a advertised.
Question: what is the max solar voltage? thanks Sam
Answer: With reference to the first answer. There is two voltages one must understand. In a system there is upstream and downstream voltage of the controller. The upstream voltage for this controller is 48V and downstream it can handle 12V or 24v configurations depending on battery connection in parallel or series. If you looking at upstream voltage, you should determine this by using the short circuit voltage on the solar panel.
Question: What is the max panel watts this controller can handle
Answer: All I can say is that I hook up 400 watts of solar panels to the controller. Together, they power two 12 volt batteries. The controllers do a great job telling you how the battery and panels are doing.
Question: What the far right connection's purpose ? ( has light bulb insignia). Is it for connecting a device directly to the controller or dump an overload
Answer: The main purpose of the "load" output (with the light bulb) is to protect the batteries from being drained down to 0 V by a "dumb" load. The controller can be set to turn the load off when the batteries get below a certain voltage (like 11V, 10V, it's user selectable). When the batteries get above a certain level (12.5V, 12.8V, again it's user selectable), the load will be turned back on. The controller will also measure how many amp-hours have been delivered to the load, but it's not perfectly accurate. I have nothing connected to my load (I just connect directly to the battery), and my controller still says the load has used 100's of amp-hours.
