Answer:	Correct I have used both spray tank 2 gal and hose end sprayer. Hose end much faster and again correct you have to "wet" the product in or off the grass to create a "weed seed blocking germination". Only need 2 oz I believe per gal. This stuff WORKS . Answer:	Sorry, never used it over juniper, strictly on desert landscape. It usually does not affect green, growing plants; just prevents seeds from germinating and thus no weeds come up.

Answer:	No. Surflan is a pre-emergent herbicide for preventative control of grassy and broadleaf weeds. Bahiagrass is not controlled preventatively or curatively. you can use a herbicide with metsulfuron 60Df as the active ingredient for controlling bahia grass.

Question:	How often do you need to apply this treatment
Answer:	As often as you want as long as you do not go over the maximum amount for your turf type per year. For some turf types, that is about .83 ounces by weight of this dry granule per 1,000 sq. ft. Most typically people apply this in the late winter or early spring. Many say to put this down when the soil temps are at 55 degrees in the winter/spring, but that is when crabgrass starts to germinate. Many lawn care professionals say to put this down earlier, when the temps are 40 to 45 degrees because it is the bacteria in the soil that break down the product and at these temperatures, the bacteria are pretty much dormant. You apply at 0.185 ounces by weight per 1,000 sq. ft. (for any grass type) and that will give you 3-4 months of protection when put down at those temps above. Put down 0.28 ounces per 1,000 sq. ft. to give 4 months of protection in the fall. I apply when the night time temperatures start dropping into the low 70's and upper 60's. I saw someone say you want this down before the soil temperatures drop to 70 in the late summer/early fall, but I have not confirmed this. So if the day temps are in the 80's and 90's and the night temps are in the 70's or upper 60's, you should still be ahead of the annual weeds you're trying to prevent in the fall.
Question:	Is this product safe for centipede grass thats 1 year old
Answer:	This should be safe on any established grass which typically means the grass has grown enough to be mowed 4+ times. You can put it down a little earlier depending on the grass type, but better safe than sorry. If you put this down too soon you can harm the new grass while it is maturing and if you do this, the prodiamine will stop new grass seed (as well as weeds) from germinating for a few months.
Question:	Will it prevent crabgrass
Answer:	Yes. Prodiamine is broken down by the microbes in the soil, and the microbes do not really start to become very active until the soil temperatures are higher...like 50+ degrees (not 100% positive of what temp here, but you get the idea). Crabgrass seeds start to germinate once the ground temperatures start to reach about 55 degrees. So you can put this down when the ground temperatures are 40-45 degrees and it will still be very effective once the ground temperatures reach ~55 degrees and provide the protection you need, versus waiting until the ground temps are already at 55 degrees and you may be too late. What this does it once the crabgrass and other seeds start to germinate, Prodiamine will stop the roots from progressing once the seeds start to germinate, which kills the plant before it completely germinates and breaks through the soil. What I like to do (heard this from a lawn care professional - YouTube channel 'Pest & Lawn Ginja') is get use a cheap meat thermometer and check the soil temps and once the ground temps are around 55 degrees, put down a different pre-emergent called Dithiopyr. This will also stop seeds from fully germinating as the Prodiamine does, but Dithiopyr also acts as a post-emergent for very young weeds and crabgrass up to 2-3 tillers. So you get early protection and a second layer of protection if required.
Question:	will it work with no pre mixing sprayer connected to water hose? if so, is setting of 2tsp for one gallon will work
Answer:	I wouldn't recommend it. Prodiamine, straight out of the container, is in granular form. Each granule is about 1 mm in diameter. All the hose end sprayers I know of require dispensing of the product as a liquid. For my application, which is to treat for Annual Bluegrass (Poa Annua) in a Zoysia lawn, I used a 3 gallon backpack tank sprayer. I measured 3/4 Tbsp. Prodiamine and poured it into a quart container. I then added 3 cups water and mixed the two together into a concentrate. I then poured the concentrate into the backpack tank sprayer and added water to make 3 gallons. 3 gallons will treat 750 sq. ft. The amount to use is 1/4 Tbsp. Prodiamine per gallon of water. Each gallon will treat 250 sq. ft.There are 3 tsp. in a Tbsp.

Question:	Can this be used with a hose end sprayer
Answer:	I have not used this product yet so can't specifically answer. Generally, any product can be used with a hose end sprayer if it is in liquid form and can pass through the nozzle where the product is mixed with the hose water. The water flow creates a vacuum that sucks the product from the sprayer container. If the liquid is too dense, the vacuum is not strong enough to suck it through. I use a type sprayer where you set the water flow to get the right mix. On thicker higher concentration products, I sometimes have to dilute the product and use a higher water setting to suck the product through the nozzle. This is not ideal when you are spraying something where the spray can drip off because you are spraying longer, and using more water, to get the same amount of product on what you are spraying. This is a lot of effort for a powder but would work under the above conditions. Frankly, had I realized this was a powder I would not have bought it. If I had a conventional hose sprayer, I would not buy it. There are too many unknown variables.

Question:	Did i read the application rate correctly? 1.5 tsp= .4 oz per 1000 sq ft? I found 1 Tbs = .5 oz
Answer:	3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon. 2 tablespoons = 1 ounce, and 6 teaspoons = 1 ounce. It takes VERY LITTLE of this product to properly apply on a lawn. Unless you have a massive lawn, this bottle will last you years. This is a great value though. I just received an email from a guy I subscribe to on YouTube and he was selling a small bottle of Prodiamine for $20 and change, but it was so little it was nuts! It was only enough to do 3 applications on a 1,000 sq. ft. area. Just be sure you understand the directions. That 0.4 ounces per 1,000 sq. ft. is the amount you can apply per year (and you want to apply in a minimum of 2 times, if not 3, applying a split application after you aerate the lawn). that is off the top of my head - don't trust my memory though, read the label. Seriously, a little goes a long ways. This works well when applied properly. I bought this last summer and have applied once to date, and my Zoysia lawn is currently dormant which means it is a golden tan color, so any live weeds or undesirable grasses easily stand out. I have a 5,000 sq. ft. front lawn, and I only have about 25 sq. ft. of undesirable grass, and about 20+ sq. ft. of that is perennial grass that I need to kill off with glyphosate. The rest are either weeds that may have already germinated before application, or I am human, and I may have missed a few spots when I sprayed, or they are perennial grasses/weeds that were already established. This stuff is great! Oh, again, read the label. Different types of turf can tolerate different amounts of Prodiamine. My Zoysia can tolerate nearly twice as much as my neighbors Fescue lawn for example.

Question:	will this product kill Bahia grass
Answer:	It doesn't so much kill grass (weeds, etc.) but keeps it from growing. Also, I have no idea what Bahia grass is. I live in New Mexico and use it on my xeriscaping twice a year. Not a weed in sight.
Question:	can i spray weed impede undiluted
Answer:	No chance, it is really thick. Even when diluted to the recommended consistency it will clog your garden sprayer completely if you don't wash it out thoroughly immediately after use. While spraying I find it helpful to keep turning the tank upside down to stop it settling to the bottom. and clogging the nozzle. I don't let the sprayer stand for more than a few minutes without shaking it up. I rinse out the measuring cup I use immediately because the residue will dry out and coat the cup by the time I finish spraying that tankful. I wear rubber or plastic gloves because it doesn't wash skin off too easily and orange is not my color.. I seem to recall that the accompanying directions for use say something about regulations that limit the application to no more than twice a year, at the appropriate measured rate. Check it out. I have been really pleased with the results I have had over the last six or seven years, it is very effective if applied as recommended and continues to be effective long after what they claim you can expect.
Question:	Can I spray right on my plants including my flowering cactus without killing it? Weeds always get right in the middle of all my plants and flowers
Answer:	I've used it for several years and don't avoid spraying on any existing plants including cactus ... never killed any existing plant that I'm aware of. It does not kill weeds which have already sprouted and put down roots. Living in the Phoenix area, I usually wait to spray until rain is in the forecast. We do not have any grass but crushed granite over our entire lot. If it doesn't rain at least 1/2", I then use a lawn sprinkler to insure that the Weed Impede gets down into the soil. After a couple of weeks have passed, I then use Roundup to spot treat/kill any weeds which had already sprouted. Once in a while, I have to go back with Roundup later because I didn't see some of them the first time. Weed Impede is a great product. Just be careful as there are other products which might be confused with Weed Impede (one of which is also a Monterey product, but I don't remember its name).

Question:	When should I put it down
Answer:	In the late winter or early spring. Crabgrass and other annual weeds that you are trying to prevent often germinate after several days with soil temperatures (NOT air temperatures) being around 55 degrees. The microbes in the soil are what break down this pre-emergent and since microbes in the soil are fairly dormant in cold weather, that means you can put this down early, well before the soil reaches 55 degrees and the pre-emergent herbicide will still be active when the soil reaches the temperatures where annual weeds start to germinate. This does not kill the seeds, it stops root development as the seeds germinate so the weed/plant does not reach a stage where it will emerge from the soil and grow. Many lawn care professionals put down their pre-emergent herbicides when the soil temperatures are in the 35-45 degree range to prevent weeds. Oddly, I have yet to see anybody state an actual temperature for the soil as a guide to apply pre-emergence herbicides in he fall...? Keep in mind this will prevent plants from growing, so if you are planning on putting down new grass seed or overseeding to thicken growth in your lawn, this will also prevent desirable plants and grass from germinating as well.

Answer:	In what I’ve read before, 6-8 weeks. At that point you should wait until fall, which is there ideal grass time in most climates. It gives the grass a chance to start growing on top, then winterize and grow strong roots so that spring will be awesome. About 3 years now I’ve been applying this strategy and find my grass is greener than all the neighbors. There is one neighbor who has a thicker lawn but he has a different slope in his yard and has been at it much longer. I will overtake him!

Answer:	you have created a force field. only way is to put down new loam 1/2'' thick then seed . late august aerate lawn then seed,& do it like your feeding the chicken & those hens are hungry. next year you will not believe, keep your deck clean & blades sharp. GOOD LUCK

Answer:	I have Poa Annua and have been doing a lot of research on it. Many websites with information about Poa Annua say for effective control, besides Spring treatment it is good to put pre emergent down in August/September. Here is a quote from the Purdue University Extension website: "Poa annua is a winter annual that germinates in the late summer/early fall once soil temperatures fall below 70o F. Seedlings mature in the fall, overwinter in a vegetative state, and flower and produce seed in late spring and early summer." I just chatted with Scott's website and they said this product can be effective when used in this manner. I plan to apply it then AND next Spring. Most of the lawns in my development have been taken over by Poa Annua but I am still fighting the fight and hope to win or at least keep it to a minimum.
