Answer:	Surprisingly, this worked on most of my simple weeds, I do not have poison ivy to kill but my first thought is this is not strong enough to eliminate that tuff invasive weed. I believe one of the popular brands actually makes a poison ivy killer. I googled "can vinegar kill poison ivy" and the answer is yes, white vinegar will kill poison ivy, though it might take a few days to notice. Fill your garden sprayer with straight, undiluted white vinegar and take aim at the poison ivy leaves and crowns. Other sites say to heat the solution with salt and add dish soap. All the articles mention it will take time, possibly a week and you might need to reapply. So maybe this would work but probably not as quick as you would like and not in one application. I would buy something better that works faster.

Answer:	Yes it will. You will be doing a fair amount of digging up rhizomes (underground stems) and cutting down the stalks. Cut the bamboo down to soil level and wait for new shoots to grow back. Before you spray new bamboo leaves, make sure that you either cut or mow it down and then allow it to regrow. It sounds weird, but you need to let new bamboo grow. Vinegar weed killer won't be effective if the canes of the bamboo are well-developed. Sever any underground rhizomes when new shoots start to grow back. Use a sharp spade (or other sharp garden implement) to cut down the bamboo and sever the rhizomes of the bamboo. Break up as many clumps of rhizomes as possible. Apply vinegar full strength to the leaves, stalks, and shoots of the bamboo. Vinegar will kill the plants that it comes into direct contact with. This means that you'll need to be careful about applying it only to the bamboo.Vinegar needs to be sprayed onto the leaves, stalks, and shoots of the plant and allowed enough time to penetrate before any water dilutes it. Question:	Do I use this before or after I fertilize my lawn in the Fall
Answer:	I wouldn't necessarily use this in the Fall. September is a nice cool month to do some reseeding, and you can't put this down within 6 weeks of seeding the lawn. I tend to do a March application and a 2nd April application, leaving me a window to seed the lawn in June. Always remember, June and September are the 2 best months to seed your lawn. I also wouldn't put this down in the fall because crabgrass does not tend to germinate in the fall, it germinates in March and April.
Question:	Is this effective against crabgrass
Answer:	I used it for the first time this season. I couldn't see that it did anything although I understand that it should be used for 3 consecutive seasons to see significant results. I wasn't pleased with the size of the pellets (rabbit food size). It took several rain events for the product to dissolve. Maybe this is better but it just wasn't what I expected. In the spring I plan to use a chemical crabgrass preventer. I'm changing over to a zoysia lawn. Zoysia may go dormant and turn brown in the winter but it requires no watering and less mowing in summer. In a few seasons I won't need any fertilizer or weed killer (except for spot treatments).
Question:	Can this be used in the garden as well as the lawn
Answer:	Does this kill the grasses that produce those nasty "Foxtails"? I have animals, vegetable garden, etc. and need a better way to kill these weeds/grasses before they produce the foxtails. Trying to "weed-wacker" them down before they get the foxtails is not always possible for me due to health issues.

Answer:	Mike McGrath says: Spread even the finest quality corn gluten on established weeds like those walkway ones, however, and you'll simply be feeding them. Mulch,vinegar, flame, hoeing and/or hand pulling are the answer here-and in that large-scale, Master Gardener situation. Yes, you could prevent future weeds by dusting with corn gluten every six weeks, but it would be hugely expensive and you'd be wasting all that great nitrogen fertilizer if there weren't 'wanted' plants growing in that area. Overspray or drift will injure or kill contacted vegetation, including crop plants. Dosing: Use 44 to 88 ounces (1.375 to 2.75 quarts) of Vinegar Weed & Grass Killer per 1000 square feet. One gallon will treat approximately 1450 to 2900 square feet. Use 4.4 to 8.8 fluid ounces of this product per 100 square feet. One quart will treat approximately 360 to 720 square feet. Be sure to follow user safety recommendations and wear proper personal protection equipment when applying this product.

Answer:	I have not tested this. I have walked through a couple inch deep puddle - no problem. I have bicycled in a hard rain and my feet stayed dry. But I have not walked through deep, deep water.

Tenacity herbicide can be used for pre- and post-emergence control of more than 46 broadleaf weed and grass species. Its active ingredient, mesotrione, is based on a naturally occurring compound produced by the bottlebrush plant (Callistemon citrinus) that inhibits photosynthesis in susceptible plant species. Question:	How much lawn will this 8oz bottle cover? We have .3 of an acre
Answer:	The 8 oz bottle will produce 96 gallons of solution using 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water. I forget what the coverage is but it will certainly cover .3 acres using a pump sprayer.I have been using mine on my .5 acre for two years and I have only used about 1/3 of the 8 oz.
Question:	Anyone know how tenacity compares to a product called "dismiss"? i have some nutsedge to get rid of and i'm trying to decide which to get. thanks
Answer:	tenacity is labeled for nutsedge. . Dismiss is the the better choice, however. Usually with tenacity, you have to apply it at least two to three times, at two week intervals. They are both broad spectrum. Tenaciity's claim to fame is its ability to kill grassy weeds, like Nimblewill. They are both labeled for Goose grass. I don't think Dismiss is labeled for Nimblewill. PS: spectricide makes a good 4 way for the home owner. It has 24d, dicamba, quinchlorac, and sulfantrazone (dismiss). spelling. they sell it on amazon and lowes.
Question:	can i apply over
Answer:	The official answer is no for most herbicides. Depending on what you're trying to control. Here is a link to one of the best reports I have found - http://archive.lib.msu.edu/tic/golfd/article/2012oct33.pdf. This report shows great results with mid-80 degree temperatures in the control of POA ANA (Which is what I'm challenged with controlling). The general rule of thumb with Tenacity is the higher the temperatures the more applications (small dosage) needed for control. Tenacity has a half-life of 5-15 days depending on the temperatures - the higher temperatures the lower the half-life. The report and other reading also indicates that Tenacity needs to stay in the plant at or above the half life levels for ~ about 14 days or so to gain a high level of control. My advice would be to look for a week when temperatures are expected to average below 90 degrees and make a couple applications during that week and observe the control that you achieve - then goo from there. I experimented for a couple seasons using this report to get a feel for the best application frequency, rates, temperatures and timing (time of year). I hope this is helpful. Question:	what is surfactant? Is it included with tenacity
Answer:	A surfactant is a separate product that you add to your applicator tank. It helps the Tenacity stick to leaf blades and better kill the weeds. I used Bonide Turbo spreader sticker. It, or something similar is available in small bottles in garden centers. The ratio I used for nimblewil was 1 teaspoon of Tenacity and four teaspoons of surfactant per 1 gallon of Water.
