3 best garden hose sprinkler system
A garden hose sprinkler system is a convenient and efficient way to water your lawn, garden, or outdoor plants. It consists of various components that work together to distribute water evenly across a designated area. Here are some key aspects of a garden hose sprinkler system:
Sprinkler Heads: Sprinkler heads are the devices responsible for dispersing water. There are different types of sprinkler heads, including stationary, oscillating, pulsating, and rotary. Each type has a specific pattern and coverage area.
Hose: The hose is the main conduit that carries water from the water source (usually a faucet) to the sprinkler heads. Garden hoses come in various lengths and materials, such as rubber or reinforced vinyl, to suit different needs.
Water Source: Typically, garden hose sprinkler systems connect to an outdoor water faucet. You may need additional accessories like hose bibs or connectors to ensure a secure and leak-free connection.
Timer or Controller: Some garden hose sprinkler systems include timers or controllers that allow you to set specific watering schedules. This can help conserve water and ensure your plants receive consistent care, even when you're not around.
Coverage Area: The coverage area of a sprinkler system depends on the type of sprinkler heads you use and their spacing. Different sprinkler heads are designed to cover different areas, from small flower beds to large lawns.
Adjustability: Many garden hose sprinkler systems offer adjustable settings to control the spray pattern, distance, and flow rate. This flexibility enables you to customize the watering to suit your specific garden layout and plant needs.
Maintenance: Regular maintenance is important to keep your sprinkler system in good working condition. This includes cleaning and unclogging the sprinkler heads, checking for leaks in the hose or connectors, and storing the system properly during the winter months.
Types of Sprinkler Systems: There are various types of garden hose sprinkler systems, including stationary sprinklers that stay in one place, oscillating sprinklers that move back and forth, and traveling sprinklers that move along a hose path. The choice of system depends on your garden's size and layout.
Accessories: You can enhance your garden hose sprinkler system with accessories like hose reels for easy storage, hose splitters to connect multiple hoses, and hose-end attachments like nozzles or wands for hand watering.
Water Conservation: To conserve water, consider using rain sensors or smart controllers that adjust watering schedules based on weather conditions, such as rain or humidity.
Garden hose sprinkler systems are a versatile and cost-effective way to maintain a lush and healthy garden while saving time and effort compared to manual watering methods. By choosing the right components and settings, you can efficiently water your plants and maintain a beautiful outdoor space.

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there replacement head that can be used to allow you to change the direction of the spray along with the arc |
Answer: | It doubles back on the hose you lay out. I connect 3 100 foot hoses to mine but it is only going pull 75ft. or so before you have to pull more hose out in front of it. If I am not able to watch it, I will put the stopper in the hose line 75ft in front so it shuts off. I have used mine for 2 years and have not stipped any gears. |
Question: | Is it possible to get 6 ft hoses instead of 12 ft ones |
Answer: | I think it would depend upon the type of dirt and water pressure. My yard is fairly steep in parts and it climbed them with no problem. |
Question: | Can you buy replacement hoses for theses sprinklers |
Answer: | My husband bought this and the gear/drive has went out. Purchased July 5, 2018. Who do we complain to? |
Question: | will other hoses work |
Answer: | Regardless of traveling speed both nozzles combined put out a total of 3.4 GPM on my 60 PSI water system. With the Train speed set on high the measured depth of water delivered on the lawn is about .28 inch for a sprinkler watering diameter of 34 feet. To get these measurements: 1 - I timed the water flowing into a bucket. 2 - I set a flat pan in the path of the train about one foot to the side of the hose. Hope this helps. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What are the hose lengths? And can you connect a 5/8" hose to this 1/2" hose to extend the length and would it still function OK |
Answer: | Maybe? It's better to just buy new ones. |
Question: | Can you connect more than one set to each other. have a large lawn that wraps around my house? or do i have to buy 2-3 sets |
Answer: | You are correct that the first sprayer gets more water than the other two -- there may be a way to "tune" them with the nozzels but I've never tried it because I don't need to -- I don't place them the full hose length apart but bring the two that have lesser spray closer together so I end up with basically an even spray -- they are not high tech but do the job -- |
Question: | Can you buy just the heads to replace |
Answer: | No, it doesn't come with one. |
Question: | Is there a way to "tune" the water flow so that all the sprayers are equal in output? It would seem that the first sprayer will have the most coverage |
Answer: | Yes and works really well |

User questions & answers
Question: | How do these tolerate high heat? being that they are all plastic and i live in las vegas so 3 months of 105°+ weather. will these warp or melt |
Answer: | Sort of like riding a bicycle; it is easy once you learn how. It is imperative that you mount it so that you can read the tiny numbers. There are 18 possible settings plus some variations. Each of the six valves you control can be controlled by scenario A, B or C. I am actually using all 18 settings. My valves 1,2,3 and 4 are controlled by A-1, A-2, A-3 and A-4 and these water the lawn on odd numbered days. A-5 and A-6 are set to zero. B-5, B-6, C-5 and C-6 are controlling valves for drippers in potted plants. B-5 and B-6 turn on every morning and C-5 and C-6 turn on every evening. The errors I make most often have to do with not noticing that I'm setting the A routine when I mean to be setting the B routine and a lot of that has to do with small unlit characters on the display. I would make mistakes anyway but it causes me to make more. The good news is once you have it set you never have to do it again. The seasonal variation adjustment (10% increments) changes all 18 setting up or down as you choose. Some of my valves leak slightly and because they are now obsolete I can't get parts. This controller allowed me to put a master valve ahead of all the others and it becomes switched on whenever any of the 6 zones are activated. Here is the PDF file with instructions but it is the same as what came with your timer: Lawn Master™ II Landscape Timer – Installation & Programming Guide for Models 53805 (4-Zone) & 53806 (6-Zone) |
Question: | Assuming average water pressure, what is the coverage area from each sprinkler if a 180 degree pattern is set |
Answer: | The controller should operate on all odd days with the exception of the 31st day of the month. |
Question: | When they're all hooked together on the same line does the end one get as good a pressure as the first one |
Answer: | Yes it does. All the directions are in the instruction booklet. I didn't know what an "MV" terminal was when I bought my Lawn Master so I read up on it and noted that if I had my own well, or if I needed to use it as a pump start relay port, I would hook up the wire to the "MV" terminal. |
Question: | Can these do 180 degrees |
Answer: | All of the connections are hard wired. If you don't have a 120 volt receptacle close use an ext. cord to the transformer. From the timer unit use low voltage wire to the different water control valves. I put my timer outdoors in a weatherproof enclosure to make it easier to set timer, works fine. |
