Question:	What is the guide mechanism made of? Is it plastic? Wondering about the long term durability of the item
Answer:	The mechanism is composed of a guide which moves along 2 bars, one smooth (the lower one) and the upper one, which has grooves to move the guide back & forth. Those bars are apparently made of plastic, but the only reason I say that is because neither is magnetic, nor is the mechanism which has a spiring loaded pin of some sort (I can't see if it has a roller on the end) to ride in the grooves in the upper bar. The upper rotating bar is driven by a small chain, partially covered, which goes from the main bar of the hose reel, up to that upper bar. That is my main area of concern. I would guess the chain is not made of stainless steel, and even though it is covered with grease from the factory, as is the upper rotating bar, I believe both will probably be subject to corrosion, since few of us go out in the spring and "grease the hose reel". The hose reel is well made, as is its supporting frame. And yes, it does contain my 100 feet of Flexzilla hose, but I doubt it would easily hold 125 feet.

Answer:	I have 100' feet of 3/4" on it. No problems.

Answer:	The mounting holes are 16" on-center horizontally, and 13 1/2" on-center vertically. The are really good hose reels, and maybe you can bolt a couple of 18" 2x4 on your 14" spacings and bolt the reel into the 2x4's.

Answer:	No. As with all self-winding hoses, they must be secured to something solid. They operate by pulling and releasing the hose. It can be mounted several ways but definitely requires mounting.
Question:	I am concerned by the review that reported hose bursting problems. Is the hose a normal garden hose, or is there something about it that is particularly fragile
Answer:	The review sounds possible. If you are going to use this hose just for a normal garden hose it should be durable. Anything more than that (like letting kids pull hard on it) may cause a problem. The hose inside the plastic case is sturdier than most. Hope this helps.

Answer:	No. There is a strong internal spring that allows the hose to retract in to the case. There is a lever on the side of the unit that has two settings. One allows you to pull the hose out and it locks the hose in place no matter how much hose has been extracted. The other setting allows the hose to retract back in to the housing. There is a built-in device that moves back and forth as the hose retracts so it is wound evenly inside the unit. Pretty cool!

Answer:	It comes with a packet that has 3 types of seeds mixed together. Ryegrass Mustard and pea seeds. I don't recommend planting the entire envelope of seeds, we only used about a quarter of the packet and they seem to filling the areas quite well. The gardens took about 3 days in a kitchen window facing west, by the end of a week they were already going crazy growing. The mustard has grown about a foot in length 2 weeks later. We will definatly be replanting them into other "larger" pots. lol I hope this information is helpful.
