Question:	Mine leak a lot when connected. My hose is very low pressure. How do I stop the leak when connected
Answer:	I have tried everything suggested here and mine still leak under regular water pressure. I added two washers to one of the female connectors that attaches to the hose and that leak stopped. I also tried different male adapters and changing out the washers on the female side. It worked good yesterday but when I used the hose this morning, it was back to leaking. I am undecided at this point if I will keep or return. I tried finding the contact info for the seller before posting here but was unable to locate an email or IM.

Answer:	They are a proprietary design which relies on a standard design. By that, I mean the overall design abn dimensions match standard quick connects. However, standard male fittings have an o-ring about halfway up the shaft, which serves to seal the connection. This design instead relies exclusively on using the hose washer of the female half to seal the connection. That washer has a slightly smaller-than-usual hole in the center, and this extra material is what the male quick connect compresses. Not a bad design, but I wouldn't trust these male fittings with any female fitting other than their own.

Answer:	Aluminum and brass do not play well together. Due to their makeup, one will act as a cathode and the other an anode if there is any water between the two, and the effect gets worse the higher the temperature is (if left in the sun for example). Answer:	Mine leak a few drops now and then, and ive been using many of these for > 15yrs. They are actually awesome... Is it the actual connection between the two or at the hose? 99% of the time its at the hose, therefore a hose or washer issue. If at the fitting check the O-ring for damage and be sure nothing is gaught in or under it. A little silicone grease on the O-ring makes it easier to use, seal better and last longer.

Not sure the ones in picture will work with those you buy in garden stores. The unit with spring, I typically see with thread inside so that it goes on the hose - this unit costs a bit more if you buy separately. The unit that goes on your nozzle/s normally have thread outside because nozzles have thread inside. This "nozzle unit" you can get fairly cheap and typically you get multiple, one of each device you want to hook up to your water source. The threading in picture looks like it is the opposite of what I described.

That is why I recommend determining how many you will need and purchase a large enough lot for this with a spare or two. I have the ones I am replacing (after years of use followed by a decade of storage) on the dining room table now and will keep a couple that are interchangeable with each other for my non drinking water hose that I carry in the motorhome. Some of the older ones are interchangeable between manufacturers, but not all. Some brands are equipped with internal check valves. These do not have a check valve. My last set did. For this use, a check valve is not necessary adding additional complexity, cost and weight and actually makes it more difficult to connect the male into the female when the line is pressurized, and it is difficult to relieve the pressure. BTW, this is Linda's husband, and I still haven't used them. They do fit and are installed on my new drinking water hoses, long with the splitters and elbows I use to hook up the motorhome. Won't be using them for another month and a half. I believe they will work well for us. The only question is long term durability.
