| Answer: | It has both pex and external male pipe thread. I bought this one because it helps eliminate a fitting. Most valves freeze-proof are threaded only and I was plumbing directly to pex so it was simpler. It is also narrower to pass through walls at the thread joint than most. |

| Answer: | It's about 7 inches from the rear of the flange to the end of the Pex connector. When I ordered this item a couple years ago it was 10+ inches, plenty of space to crimp the Pex line in the crawlspace (eight inch cinder block foundation). |
