Answer:	If I remember correctly they are 1 piece wheels, but I was never successful in getting it assembled.....
Question:	Does this have plastic gears? I have read a lot about these and ones with plastic gears wear out quickly
Answer:	No! The drive and the lever that sets the opening are metal. The covering over the metal is plastic to protect it from the elements. If I were allowed to take a picture and attach it, I would, it is NOT plastic. Most of the wear and tear parts are metal with the exception of the hopper, inflatable wheels, and the little fan that distributes the product from the hopper. The drive which determines how fast the little fan moves to distribute the product rotates based on the speed you are going. This is hooked to the same metal bar that rotates the wheels and then to the part that rotates the fan. I’m sure that I’m not using all the proper names because I’m not a mechanic, but hopefully this all is a non-techie view. The machine operates exceptionally well, and I can easily compare it to the ones costing $250 dollars. The mechanisms are all built the same with the exception of the hopper and the fan which distributes the production; in the $250 spreader these are metal. However, both still only spread 4’. If you spend more $400, you can get a spreader with an axial; this doesn’t have one! The wheels on this are big and far better than the $250 one I had! Hope this helps!

Answer:	You do have to pump out the air. It’s a good looking product and I felt it did an adequate job the 3x I was able to use it, but, it ripped during the 4th attempt to get it over my foot cast. Go to Walgreens and get their cast cover for about $22. I’d give the Walgreens version 5 stars, as it reaches all the way up to the knee/thigh, and it’s much easier to pull on and take off (no tugging).

Answer:	Could not find anything about using powdered lime in the manual, it did comment on using granular material, to avoid towing spreader with flow plate closed, the rotating agitator could work the material into powder, compacting it at the bottom of the hopper. I use mine for fertilizer and it works great.

Answer:	I'm in no position to guarantee safety, but these use less than 4 watt, barely warm to the touch. 25 watt bulbs use, well, 25 watt, and are hot to the touch. I feel these are much safer. Bear in mind that these have the brightness of a regular 40 watt bulb, but they are dimmable.

Answer:	Not that I know of. You lose water from it heating, so I assume it does not. You definitely want to unplug during warmer seasons
