Question:	Wheels in one pic are bolted together with 4 bolts and nuts, but the pic of the "whole" do not show the bolts. are they 2 or 1 piece wheels
Answer:	If I remember correctly they are 1 piece wheels, but I was never successful in getting it assembled.....
Question:	Does this have plastic gears? I have read a lot about these and ones with plastic gears wear out quickly
Answer:	No! The drive and the lever that sets the opening are metal. The covering over the metal is plastic to protect it from the elements. If I were allowed to take a picture and attach it, I would, it is NOT plastic. Most of the wear and tear parts are metal with the exception of the hopper, inflatable wheels, and the little fan that distributes the product from the hopper. The drive which determines how fast the little fan moves to distribute the product rotates based on the speed you are going. This is hooked to the same metal bar that rotates the wheels and then to the part that rotates the fan. I’m sure that I’m not using all the proper names because I’m not a mechanic, but hopefully this all is a non-techie view. The machine operates exceptionally well, and I can easily compare it to the ones costing $250 dollars. The mechanisms are all built the same with the exception of the hopper and the fan which distributes the production; in the $250 spreader these are metal. However, both still only spread 4’. If you spend more $400, you can get a spreader with an axial; this doesn’t have one! The wheels on this are big and far better than the $250 one I had! Hope this helps!

Answer:	We have a John Deere 320 and it works great.
Question:	how does this spreader work with grass seeds? I saw only fertilizer mentioned. Need to reseed 2-3 acres
Answer:	I used in 15 acres with fertilizer and worked very good . Spayed in a width of around 15 ft. I suppose that it will work similar for seeds but I have not tried for that

Answer:	I have used this 4 or 5 times and didn't notice any damage or strain. I am assuming you are asking because the augar stick would be spinning backwards. The spreader works very well and is very stable because the tub sits lower then most others and is perpendicular with the axle not parralel over the wheels

Answer:	I am not sure what these guys are talking about, but I was completely satisfied with this spreader. It is sturdy and not cheaply made. If you assemble it correctly, you will not have a problem. Agri Fab is a US company and their mfg plant is in Ill. Dont believe the fake news!

Question:	Does the gear box have to be lubed annually if its enclosed
Answer:	There was no grease or oil on mine out of the box. First thing I did after assembly was follow the lubrication instructions in the manual.
Question:	Will this work with sand
Answer:	I've only used it for salt. If the sand is coarse it should work without running out through the gate. If the sand is too fine I think it will leak by no matter how tightly you close the feed gate.
Question:	What is the height of the handles off the ground? i'm 6'4" and most spreaders are too short for me
Answer:	The overall height would be 33.63" for this spreader.
Question:	Is there a chart to set Agway spreader settings to match the settings on Scott's fertilizer bags
Answer:	There is no chart. The manual says that for light applications, set the opening to 3, medium 4, heavy 5. That really doesnt tell you S***. My solution is fairly simple. Set your Scotts, or whatever you are using, to the setting recommended on the bag. Measure the width of the opening. If the length of the opening is anywhere close to the opening on your walk behind, set your agri fab to the same width. That should give you very close to the setting you need for your agri fab

Answer:	This is just a guess but I'd say 6 feet on each side so 12 feet total. This is the spreader that all other spreaders should try and be. This is by far the best spreader I have had ever.

Answer:	It will fit on a normal lawn mower. It’s not really designed for a large tractor with a drawbar. You might have a inch wide opening at most. Thing really works great!!
Question:	Would this unit be good for in the winter spreading rock salt
Answer:	Check out the website www.daytonnursey.com. The site tells you the best time to apply granular lime and the Scott’s drop spreader setting. Also, it tells you not to apply fertilizer within 2 weeks of applying the granular lime. I would even wait 4 weeks before applying any fertilizer. In addition, I would water in the granular lime after applying it to avoid the possibility of burning the grass in hot weather. Finally, I’ve never used (it wasn’t available) granular lime, only powdered lime and that drop spreader setting is either 6 or less. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Could not find anything about using powdered lime in the manual, it did comment on using granular material, to avoid towing spreader with flow plate closed, the rotating agitator could work the material into powder, compacting it at the bottom of the hopper. I use mine for fertilizer and it works great.

Answer:	I have not used this for salt. However, it does a good job as a fertilizer spreader, and does not throw material back on the operator. The assembly instructions were probably written by a Chinese first grader, but if you take your time and think, it is not too difficult to assemble. The instructions do not tell you to grease the gears before you assemble, but I would HIGHLY recommend you do so prior to assembly.
