Answer:	The entire plant hanger (macrame hanger and round base) are very light weight. We just received it and have not installed it yet but will probably do so this weekend. My husband purchased a different type of hook to use instead of the one included. I think it may give the weight of the item in the product specs. Answer:	yes you can. if you are using saucer or drip tray to avoid water getting onto hanger or floor, try to make sure you don't over water the plant. i usually set my plants into a tub of water so plant draws water up, then i return plant to hanger, that keeps plant at dirt surface from rotting away from too much water.
