(Compost is not necessary but it will certainly help wildflowers thrive.) Broadcast your seeds in the area and tamp the seeds down to get good seed to soil contact. A good rule of thumb is to plant seeds twice the diameter of the seed. Most of the seeds are very small so they will not need to be buried. Keep moist during germination.
