User questions & answers
Question: | How many packets are included for |
Answer: | Hi Joshua. YES! This is 25 lbs of 100% black oil sunflower seeds. You won't be disappointed. Wagner's is a really good brand and Amazon is the best with prime membership. Sincerely, Diane E. |
Question: | How many pounds/ounces of seeds is this? I’m looking to fill 25ml glass jars for wedding favors |
Answer: | Hello I am a backyard birder and would go thru one bag every 2 weeks. I believe that they put expiration dates on their products. I have been purchasing these Sunflower seed from Amazon and they have always been fresh. They always have an expiration date on their bags. I purchase other seeds from this manufacturer. I order the Nyjer seeds from them and currently have a bag with an expiration date of 9/20/19. Seeds should always be kept in cool places. I have approximately 53 goldfinches, a lot of morning doves, Baltimotr Orioles hummingbirds etc. I have never had any problems with any seeds I purchased from this manufacturer |
Question: | Could I fit the larger seeds through a jar opening that is 1/2 inch |
Answer: | The only answer that makes sense to me is this: The shipping weight is in metric units where a metric pound is 500 grams. The "Wagner" weight is in imperial units. where an imperial pound is approx. 450 grams. So a metric shipping weight of 18 pounds (where a pound is 500 grams) is the equivalent of approx. 20 lbs in imperial units (where a pound is approx. 450 grams. Thus the metric shipping weight can be less than the imperial "Wagner" weight. |
Question: | Does "Intended for the current and the following growing season." mean |
Answer: | Don't know why it's now more per-pound in the larger bag. Doesn't make sense. When I bought it, the 40-pound bag cost less than it does now, maybe around $35 (don't remember the exact price). It's sounds like either Wagner's thinks consumers are dumb or that the company has just mispriced it. If the pricing continues as is, I'd just buy two 25-pound bags. That's a dollar a pound, instead of $1.125 a pound, and the 25-pound bags are easier to handle, too. Assuming you have Prime, shipping is free. I'd also check the price at your local Lowe's, Home Depot or similar -- sometimes they have better deals than Amazon. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will these grow under a tree? I have a circle drive with a tree in the center and I'm looking for flowers to easily spread around it |

Question: | Will these grow in partial or full shade |
Answer: | I wouldn't plant in full shade but partial should be fine as long as they get a few hours of sun a day. |
Question: | can i still plant this year (New Jersey) for flowering next spring? or should i wait till spring to plant |

Question: | What are the 16 perennial seeds included |
Answer: | I do not know, the seeds never sprouted, we got no flowers from 30,000 seeds. Sorry |
Product features
Purchase Fresh Seeds
Start with purchasing our fresh mix of Perennial flower seed. The mixture is pure flower seed and contains no filler matter.
Sow In Black Dirt
Always use a nutrient rich black dirt to give the seeds a boost in growth. DO NOT sow your seed in mulch, sandy soils, clay based soils, or rocky soils.
Water Daily
Water the seeds and seedlings daily with a light water setting so that the soil doesn't dry out. Continue to water the small plants daily.
Watch Them Grow
The seeds will take at least 1 - 2 weeks to sprout. After they start to grow, the plants will later flower in the second year. So be patient!
Rich Fluffy Black Dirt
If you can't work your hands through it freely, then the soil will likely stunt growth and won't lead to very great results.
Mulch
Do not plant seeds in mulch. Seeds need soil to grow. Mature plants can be surrounded by mulch, but seeds will not grow in it.
Sandy Soils
Sandy soils have virtually no nutrients. Your seeds will fail to germinate or their growth will be almost non-existent.
Hard Rocky Soil
Many Perennials need to establish deep roots to return the following year. Hard, rocky soils prevent your flowers from establishing deep roots.

Question: | Are for any seasona |

If you cannot find it in your email box, you may also access it via Buyer/ Seller Messages in Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/message#!/inbox Should you encounter any problems, you may contact us directly. 1. go to this product listing, click "Tiberius Claudius" (seller name), then 2. click the big yellow "Ask a question" button to reach us. Thank you. Regards, Pat Dragon Acupuncture |
Question: | Have to chop or mow down at end of season |
Answer: | You put it in one ear and then after a week you put it in the other ear - that way your ear has time to breathe without the seeds on it in between. I found better luck in my right ear (probably because it was easier for me to do that one), so I would put it in there every other week and nothing in my left ear. If you have someone to do it for you, that may be easier. Also, you'll get an ebook with the seed positions per item to correct, but this was what I found worked the best: Mouth, Stomach, Spleen, Endocrine, Subcortex, and Shen Men |
Question: | Will these grow well in the northeast? we're in rhode island |
Answer: | I thought the same thing because I was under All Messages, but I had to go to the right and click on Buyer/Seller Messages and it was in there. The first group of messages are the "Important messages". Here's how you get to the ebook if not in your email: Log in to Amazon Go to Your Account>Message center>Under All Messages, click on Buyer/Seller Messages Open Message from Tiberius Claudius |
Question: | how do I learn where these flowers are indigenous to? I am in Colorado and want to plant native |
Answer: | Hi RaynaS, I think you are referring to the large color ear chart. This chart is in both Chinese and English. If you look closely, the English label is below each Chinese label. In addition to the chart, we will send you an eBook, in English, upon purchase to help you use the ear seeds. Thank you. Regards, Pat Dragon Acupuncture |

User questions & answers
Question: | How many seeds are in each packet of seeds |
Answer: | Spring and fall are usually the best time to plant. |
Question: | Hi! i would like to know if i can use the flowers of calendula to make an infusion (drink it as tea)? i am not sure about this variety |
Answer: | I'm assuming you are talking about a 2-3ft diameter pot, which would be fine. I would also get a paint stick (you can get them from the dollar store or from your local hardward shop-and they're cheap.) or any kind of stick to add support to the plant. I am also going to assume that you are going to grow some kind of bonsai version of the wisteria which would be fine too. Please note that once the plant is about 2- 3ft tall you are going to start finding an even bigger pot for it i would settle for a 4ft diameter pot as a permanent home and just add fertilizer once in a while. This is a hanging plant so remember it needs to do that, hang and that's why the support is important. Soil should remain moist, but never flood-like. Keep in direct sunlight for optimal health once plant is where you want it in height-then switch to indirect light if you so wish. Hope this helps. Sorry for the late response! |
Question: | Are these organic |
Answer: | Here are some planting and cultural tips.Plant immediately upon arrival and water well. Water everyday for the first 5 days. Water as needed after this, You want the soil to be slightly moist but NOT SOGGY. Plant in well drained soil with high organic matter. Plant in a partly shaded area (Morning sun with afternoon shade is best). After they have been growing in the ground for about a month you can start to fertilize them with a very light fertilizer regimen. I recommend Vitamin B1 mixed with seaweed kelp and also some fish emulsion. Use this fertilizer mix once every 2 weeks. These are organic fertilizers and are very gentle on your seedlings. Some other advantages of these organic fertilizers are that they do not harm the environment and it is difficult to over fertilize using these amendments. I do not recommend fertilizing in late summer or fall. Once established they are very low maintenance. |
Question: | Are these all full sun |
Answer: | Mine bloomed the same year I planted. I’m back on this product listing to buy two more because it did so well. |

When & Where to Plant Lavender
When & Where to Plant Lavender
Light: Lavender needs full sun and well-drained soil to grow best. In hot summer climates, afternoon shade may help them thrive.
Soil: Lavender grows best in low to moderately-fertile soils, so don't amend the soil with organic matter before planting. Lavender performs best in neutral to slightly alkaline soils. Add lime to raise the soil pH to around 7.0 - we recommend performing a simple soil test for best results.
Spacing: Depending on the variety, space plants 1 to 3 feet apart.
Planting Time: In areas colder than Zone 6 (Zone 6-1), we recommend planting in spring or early summer. In areas warmer than zone 6 (7-10), we recommend planting in early fall so the roots can get established during the cool, moist winter weather.
How To Plant Lavender: Step-By-Step Instructions
How to grow lavender: step-by-step instructions
1. Start with plants that have established strong root systems.
2. Prepare a seeding hole whose depth is twice that of the root bulb of the lavender plant, and the twist is twice that. When planting multiple plants, you can modify the soil at each planting hole, or modify the entire bed before planting. In the container, prepare a well-draining soil mixture by mixing gravel or sand with the soil.
3. If the root system is close to the pot wall, the root system can be "roughened" to encourage outward growth.
4. Plant your lavender with the roots of the root soil. Backfill soil around the plant and press hard on the surrounding area.
5. Compress the soil with water and remove air pockets. In the next few weeks, if the overall conditions of the plants and the garden are very short of water, water the lavender. Remember that lavender grows on fast-draining soil and does not like standing water, which can cause root rot

Question: | Has it been chemically treated? I'm not going to say why but we all know why |
Answer: | The seeds I bought for friends and believe that they are perennials. Winterizing the yard I usually will cut all perennials to the base, 2-3" above ground level. This is after the plant is brown, allowing the energy to go back into the plant itself. I hope this helps. My friends who planted the seeds are very happy. |
