Question:	I was about to buy the older model and then saw this. I prefer the white color on the old model, but is this lid better? Can anyone compare them
Answer:	I don't know anything about the old model but the lid on this makes it easy to rinse the sprouts. You empty the water from the green bottom, rotate which white sprout tray is on the bottom and pour water in the green top. Very easy and clean. Easy to reuse the water to water plants as well, if you live in drought country like I do.
Question:	What size are these? What's the diameter (how wide across)? and how tall are each of them
Answer:	The diameter is about 6 1/4" across, the whole system is 8 1/2"tall, each tray is about 2" high individually.
Question:	Will this work for broccoli seeds
Answer:	Yes- I have been growing broccoli seeds for two months now. I have this on top of my refrigerator directly across from a window. I have had ZERO issues, and I am no expert! Things to note about broccol seeds: 1. They actually do smell during germination. 2. Their early root system looks like white fuzz! Both these are NORMAL. I only water about 12oz instead of 16oz 2x per day. and although a drain hole or two can occasionally get clogged, it has never been an issue as I simply use a toothpick to clear after I harvest. I am only back into this product screen to buy more trays! Love it. Simple.
Question:	what is the difference in this model verses the 1014 model for
Answer:	The 1014 has a snap on lid without holes like a Tupperware plastic lid. The 1400 doesn't have a lid as such. The top tier is like the 4 spouting tiers with holes around the edge and holds about 2 cups of water which it slowly drains into the tiers below. When adding water to the 1014 the sprouting seeds in the top tier are disturbed and moved around unless you pour very slowly and carefully. For that reason, most people probably didn't sprout in the top tier and just used it like the 1400 with only 3 tiers.

Answer:	Soak broccoli seeds for 4 hours in clean water. (Eg reverse osmosis water) Allow seeds to breathe and germinate in the glass jars. Rinse the seeds morning and night until you see ready to harvest Sprouts. (Generally 3 to 5 days depending upon the seeds growing pattern)

Answer:	I didn’t see any lids for regular mouth mason jars.

Answer:	3" is the measurement of the inside edge of a wide mouth jar or it will measure just shy of 3". If that is what you are measuring you've got a standard wide mouth and it should work.

Where do you keep your jar while in the process of sprouting? Tired of other kinds (plastic, ring with screen and mesh strainer) and other systems (like the stacking ones or even cheesecloth? Tired of using sprouting kit which needs drip tray and stand?

Step 1: Add seeds and water

Place seeds in your wide-mouth jar, and cover them with warm water.

The mount of seeds and water depend on your jar size, for example, 1 to 2 tablespoons of seeds cover with 2 inches of water.

Step 2: Soak overnight

Question:	Will this fit regarlar and wide mouth
Answer:	It fits only wide mouth. If you re-read the title, it says "... Use Wide Mouth ...". You didn't ask, but I want you to know these are great sprouting lids. They are not cheap, but they are definitely quality. We bought them to replace our plastic ones which may leach chemicals into the sprouts. We are extremely satisfied and use them regularly.
Question:	What size / brand mason jars fit with these lids
Answer:	Our lids fit any brand of wide mouth mason jar. They do NOT fit regular mouth mason jars of any brand. Please let me know if we can help you with anything else.
Question:	Do you provide instructions for sprouting
Answer:	As an experienced sprouter, I would add to what Josh said by saying the ideal temperature for sprouting is around 70 degrees. Also, you should keep the jars in a place where there is no light. I simply put a cardboard box over the jars (I do numerous kinds of seeds at a time. The exception would be if you are sprouting alfalfa seeds. 1 to 2 days before harvesting them you can put them in the sunlight to increase the chlorophyll--which is very good for your body on several accounts. I use a grow lamp on mine because the sun doesn't shine much where I live. From my experience I would say rinsing should be done a minimum of twice daily. I do mine 3 times daily--as close to 8 hours apart as I can. Mung Bean and Lentils are the easiest and quickest to sprout. I also do alfalfa and broccoli--which has been scientifically shown to fight cancer cells. If you want to save some money, I would buy T& Co.'s stainless steel rings without the screen. They come 6 to a set and are only $24.99. I buy the nylon screen that is used in screen doors at the local hardware and cut it into 6" squares to put over the jar opening. You can reuse them also. My 6" squares cost me about 10 cents a piece.
Question:	Where are these made
Answer:	I begrudgingly made the move to manufacture in China after looking exhaustively for US-based manufacturers. Most of them here said that "this kind of product has been off-shored for many years now." I did find a few that would be willing to do it but they wanted several thousand for tooling and 25,000+ unit minimum order quantities. Unfortunately I wasn't in a position to take out a small mortgage on a completely new product with an unproven market just so I could sit on a decade's supply of product--that would be stupid so I didn't do it. That said, let me put this another way: The only reason this product is available is because Chinese manufacturers are willing to accept lower minimum order quantities and tooling costs than American manufacturers, literally by an entire order of magnitude. Everyone loves the idea of having things made in America but no one wants to pay the 10x higher price, and as a manufacturer of a new hobby product I'm not in a position to front 10x more money either. Sad but true.

Thick, Strong, and Easy to Drain

1. Add Seed To Jar

Add seeds to your glass jar. Place the straining screen on the top of the jar with its dome facing down. Screw on with the stamped Trellis + Co. ring.

2. Soak Seeds

Soak seeds in water for 8 - 10 hours. We suggest leaving them overnight and rinsing them out first thing in the morning.

3. Rinse Seeds Daily

Rinse seeds twice a day by pouring water through the sprout lid and swishing the seed. Drain the excess water into the sink.

After each rinse fully invert the jar with the lid still on. Allow the lid portion of the jar to rest on the drain stand.

4. Ready In 3-4 Days

Most sprouts are ready for eating after 3-4 days.

How to sprout?

1.Please choose the seeds which are specifically for sprouting. Soak them in water.

2.After soaking, pick out the bad seeds and put the good seeds in the grid tray evenly. Don't stack them.

3.Add water into the container tray. The water can't come up to the grid tray. Don't submerge seeds in water, otherwise it will rot. To avoid smell, please change water for 1~2 times every day.

4.Cover it with lid. If there's no lid, cover it with paper or cotton gauze. To keep the seeds wet, please spay some water for 2~4 times every day.

5.When the buds grow up to 1cm height, remove the lid. Spray some water for 3~5 time every day.

6.The seeds germination time varies from 3 to10 days. Before harvested, put them in sunlight for 2~3 hrs to increase chlorophyll.

Answer:	Only extremely large seeds will work as the holes are enormous. You could sprout beans or peas successfully or sunflower seeds? Not much works as they all fall though. Personally, I would save your money and get the mason jar toppers or something with a tray with significantly smaller holes.

I would look for a 1 gallon glass pickle jar which would work very well and you might even get it for free. The main thing is to rinse the seeds twice daily to prevent them from fermenting.
