Question:	Can the timer be programed to operate for longer than a week? I have a new lawn and I'm going away for two weeks
Answer:	Once you set your program - it will last as long as the batteries last. Get some extra-strength batteries and you should be ok for two weeks.
Question:	Can this be programmed to spray every five minutes for the duration of one minute
Answer:	the directions you can set the water duration from 1 to 240 minutes. You can set the water frequency as every 6 hours, 12 hours, or from 1 to 7 days. Not sure if this will help you or not. I like the timer. We have them set up all over the property.
Question:	Can each port be programmed with independent frequencies
Answer:	On the TWO-PORT, each can be set independently. The Digital 2-Outlet Hose Timer also features a rain delay function designed to help conserve water by delaying watering time (for BOTH Ports) by 24, 48, or 72 hours. Programs can also be manually bypassed to allow for use of the faucet without interrupting the timed watering.

Answer:	SG, in an effort to avoid sales-y language coming from one of the two brands in question, we'll stick to the overall differences between the two controllers (and leave it to other customers to talk about their own experiences with the B-hyve):- B-hyve can be installed in indoor or outdoor settings, as opposed to Rachio being indoor-only- B-hyve comes in 6- and 12-station models, while Rachio comes in 8- and 16-station models - B-hyve is fully programmable from both the app and at the timer with buttons/screen to make any manual adjustments needed, while Rachio is programmed solely from the app with no controls/screen at the actual timer- Orbit’s B-hyve models typically retail at $100 and $120, while Rachio’s models typically retail at $200 and $250

Answer:	Looked on the Orbit web site, discussion board - lots posted there about this subject: seems there is lots of frustration about Orbit not providing an ETA for google home/assistant compatibility. AND, again, according to Orbit's posts - they are not sure if google home compatibility will be a software upgrade or if WE WILL HAVE TO BUY A NEW 2ND GENERATION UNIT.
Question:	How does this compare to Rachio
Answer:	This is a definite yes. You can can control one or several plugs with several devices with smart phones using the Meross app or echo devices with “Alexa commands” or google home control with “ok google commands.” The Meross app allows you to name or rename each device you control. It’s all pretty flexible.

Answer:	Yes, The timer has 3/4 inch hose thread. If you were going to use it on the end of a pipe, there are adapters to get from hose to pipe and vice versa. As far as I know, Orbit does not have the adapters, but Home Depot, Lowes or most any hardware store sells them.

Answer:	They last quite long, as the unit itself died before the batteries did! In our salt air environment, we just replaced the unit after about 10 months. Good product!

Answer:	The frequency is set by the number of days...so 1 is every day, 2 is every two days, and so on. You can also set every 6 hours or 12 hours. And you have start times as well.
Question:	Would someone kindly explain why this Orbit with a brass connector gets lower ratings than what looks to be the same timer with a plastic connector
Answer:	I personally prefer brass connectors, plastic have the potential to crack or ruin the connecting threads if they are not properly aligned; my personal experience.

Question:	Does this have a time log? Cause im testing it to water now about a min no water still comes out or is my device broken? Should water come out readily
Answer:	I'm not real sure I understand the question; however check these items.....1st make sure the batteries are good. Then to make sure the water flows properly put the dial to "Auto" and press 'water now". Wait about 5 seconds and water should flow out, if not make sure your faucet handle is on. Then if water doesn't come out your device is broken. Note: This is only for a test. Once this cycle finishes, your normal programmed cycle will resume. Good Luck!!!
Question:	is it supposed to just connect to hose and work after set up? Mine doesnt stop any water flow no matter the setting
Answer:	Yes. Once connected to the faucet then a hose on the out flow and you have the batteries in and settings configured it should only allow water flow once the string is reached and opens the valve. It should not flow freely through the valve unless the strings allow it. Hope this helps

Question:	can this controller replace the 1260bi controller
Answer:	Not sure why Amazon is having me answer for this particular controller. I have the Rain Bird indoor controller. I think the key things you have to ask yourself are - 1 whether your old controller is an outdoor controller and if so, is this new Rain Bird controller and outdoor one. You don’t want to mount an indoor controller outside 2 - how many zones do you have in your system and does this new Rain Bird controller have the capacity to water all your zones. For example, my yard has 7 zones and my controller can manage up to 8 zones. I think if you can handle these questions, you should be good to go. Going from controller brand to another brand really doesn’t matter. My old controller was a Hunter and I went with a Rain Bird when I needed a new controller.

Answer:	This is a 12 zone model. It can be used for 12 "zones." If you need 16, you'll need a different solution.

Answer:	Yes, this is outlined in manual. Download the pdf manual from rain bird and all questions will be answered.
Question:	Does the rainbird wireless rain sensor work with this unit
Answer:	Yes, I have the Rain Bird WRT-RFC and I wired my sensor to this unit. You will need a separate transformer ( I got mine from Home Depot for around $14.00) It is the Rain Bird UT1 transformer. You will cut off the end connector and splice the wires from the transformer to the WRT rain sensor (red to red; black to black) the remaining wires ( 1 green, 1 white will go into the sensor input on the controller after pulling out the yellow clip. Do all of this with the unit and separate transformer unplugged. It will work like a charm.

Answer:	I can assure you there is no rating available as to high limit of ambient temperature at which this timer might fail.Considering cold water is running through it when valve is open, that should be a positive factor.Otherwise, you guess is as good as mine.
Question:	Can this be used on a gravity feed system? I have a 2,000 gallon free-standing tank (not connected to city water
Answer:	No. It needs 20 psi to work. One foot of head equals 0.4 psi so your water tank would need to be setting on a 50-foot tower or hill to provide 20 psi.
Question:	Can you tell me how to turn off only the right outlet
Answer:	What I do is make sure there is no 'Time" nor 'Minutes" set on the side that I don't want the unit to use. You might need a small piece of wire to insert into the TINY re-set hole on the right side of the unit. Pushing this will clear the memory and functions. Or what I do is just take the batteries out for a few minutes and set new time and duration on the line I want to use.
Question:	Can this unit be set for twice a day (12 hours apart)- everyday and then the other side be used for manual watering
Answer:	It is easy to set for one side automatic and one side manual. The issue comes when it is left in the sun. Any prolonged sun exposure ruins the components and housing very fast.

Question:	How do you remove the moisture under the lcd screen? it makes it impossible to read the screen
Answer:	Regret you can not remove the screen-the unit is defective as there should not be any moisture under the screen-it is supposed to be factory sealed. I would contact the manufacturer and ask for a replacement. They sent me a new one when I had this problem on an earlier model.
Question:	Can this be set on an every 2 hour cycle
Answer:	Each zone has 4 cycles it can be set for. So if you wanted to water every 2 hours then you would have to use multiple zones. Using 3 zones with each cycle 2 hours apart would get you to 1 day off watering. If you wanted to use the same watering equipment downstream then you would have to combine the zones with 2 y splitters used in reverse. That should get you there.
Question:	Is this compatible with google hub
Answer:	This unit is not compatible with google hub at this time.
Question:	What is the gpm/gph output rating on this timer? (One zone or all
Answer:	You can run all four at the same time but the output will not be able to have enough flow or psi to even power one sprinkler. Use one port at a time and stagger the times to allow each zone to completely finish it's cycle. It also depends on the psi of the home. Most homes are operating from City Water at a minimum of 35 psi. According to tech support at Melnor they need to operate on at least 20 psi (this will not really give you the reach you may be looking for) and less than 80 psi. It does have good flow at the higher psi but no info is available on gal/min.

Answer:	The timer itself has only bluetooth. The hub bridges the timer with your wifi connection. Distance should be within 50 feet if possible.

You set the current time, the start time, how long to water, and how often. So for example, our watering days are Sunday and Wednesday. I can tell it to water every 7 days, which takes care of one of those days. I *can't* tell it to water every Sunday and Wednesday.

Answer:	The valve opens at the programmed time......even when there's no water at all. However, if the water source is a rain barrel, only gravity will be pushing water out.

Answer:	Two AA batteries. I had only problems with these. The valves fail to open rendering the timer useless. I lost many plants from these timers not working.

Answer:	These are very good timers with somewhat normal watering time capabilities, but I am afraid not with sensitive enough options to offer the timing you require. Not sure if any full electric timer can do what you want it to do, but definitely no battery operated timer can do what you want.

Answer:	The short black tube is for clamping the small black tube off. Fold the small black tube in half and stick it into the larger tube to clamp off water flow.
Question:	What is the "end clamp"; how is it used? It's in the kit but there is no info anywhere on it. After a week, I still have no answer from Raindrip
Answer:	Closes off ends of 1/2" or 5/8" poly hose. It is used for the end of the line. Slide tubing inside one hole, bend end of tubing and stick into other hole. Works as an end cap like kinking a garden hose to stop flow.
Question:	Is it safe to leave the outdoor faucet on all the time when connected to this system
Answer:	As long as your faucet is not dripping and temperatures are well above freezing, there shouldn't be an issue. Screw things together tightly. I love the system for my hanging baskets, and my faucet is on all the time with a twice daily watering schedule when it is hot out.
Question:	How well do these installations fare after a few northern US winters
Answer:	I use these every year in Boston and always seem to forget to bring the timers in for the winter from my roof deck. Over the last 6 years, every time I’ve left the timers out they’ve been broken by spring. The one time I remembered to bring one inside it was fine though. The tubing and drippers are just fine throughout the winter, much better than other tubing I’ve used which bursts. Most of my original tubing is still kicking after 6 winters.

Water on specific days of the week, or every few days, depending on your plant’s needs. Avoid wasting water when it rains with the handy rain delay to pause the watering schedule for up to 7 days; the previous settings will automatically resume when the delay it’s over. Need to wash the car or spray off the walkway? Manual mode allows you to turn on the water whenever you need it. Each zone works like a separate timer, so the garden can be watered every morning while the lawn sprinkler comes on every few days. Ensure you always have a leak-free seal with additional filter washers. Melnor has included 3 extra filter washers so you can easily replace them if they become lost or worn. Answer:	Leaving the water pressure on your faucet will not effect the timer or your pipes that is how it is designed.

Answer:	Whoops, my original answer is wrong. You can set water days. Every 1, 2, 3, etc. When in day select mode, one press past Saturday is the daily frequency.
