Answer:	They are a matte finish. Very nice.

Answer:	No. I don't believe this model comes apart to clean. I believe it is held together by a very sturdy rivet. I take care of it like I would any carbon or stainless steel cooking utensil. I use soap and water and a plant based oil for cleaning.

Answer:	The blades are (from the joint to the tip) 3 1/4”. The total length including the handles is 8 1/4”.

Answer:	Rather than scissors I might suggest using these blades, they cut like the proverbial hot knife through butter with very heavy belt-thickness leather. The company has two versions of their baldes, one for abrasive things like sheetrock and this one that I prefer which is for clean cutting things like leather and cardboard etc. : Tajima LCB-30RB Precision Craft Endura 3/8-Inch Razor Blades, 10-Pack. I use them in these: HAUTMEC Innovative Dual Use Mechanism Box Utility Cutter .... and I also very much like this: Gerber EAB Lite Pocket Knife 31-000345 with a different Tajima blade for it . I think for leather work these might be much better than scissors. I just used the HAUTMEC with the Tajima blade this afternoon on heavy belt-thickness vegetable tanned leather to make some stacked-and-glued-togehter leather polishing wheels for my bench grinder. I will use them with polishing compound to get that final edge when sharpening knives. It cut so easily, all the way through the thick leather with little effort. Didn't even need to go over the cut a second time to finish the cut. Just one effortless pass and it was done. Loved it.

Answer:	Technically, every sharpened steel anything (scissors, knives, chisels, etc.) is porous which means moisture can accumulate in those pores and begin to rust the item if left too long. It's just good practice to wash these things and dry them by hand to ensure you get the most life out of them even if they wouldn't rust right away being thrown into the dishwasher.

Answer:	I wouldn't chance it. It may affect the alignment of the blades. Plus, the "bolt" side of the screw doesn't have any flat sides (as your average hexagonal bolt does) to grip on to while tightening the screw. It seems to be permanent hardware.

Answer:	spring hasn't come out of mine. seems like a nice sturdy pair of shears. a little more weight to it than I was expecting

Answer:	Handles are 4.5" Blades 2" total overall length 7". I have fairly large hand and they are very comfortable! I can honesty say these are top quality snips and are perfect for gardening.

Answer:	I'm holding them now and the blades extend 2 inches(probably actually 2.2 inches ) from the body of the trimmer. the blades are sharpened at an angle on the outside of the 3/4 inch "tip" for ease of pruning. Nice.
Question:	Does the lock mechanism ever slip out of position &/or interfere with blade closure or pinch skin? Read it could happen on some models like this
Answer:	The lock mechanism is made out of hard plastic and fits snuggly in a rectangular bracket. It sits firmly in position when in the locked position. When unlocked the mechanism slides downward and remains in a firmly stable position. I have not had any experience with interference with blade opening or closure nor have I had any issues with pinching of skin.
