Answer:	That should not be a problem. Mine also were slightly overlapping and have used them quite a bit.

Answer:	You should be able to get replacement parts through Seymour Midwest. However many of their tools come with a limited lifetime warranty which I believe this one to fall under.. This PHD is so heavy duty I cannot fathom the idea of issue with the blades.

Answer:	I don't know if you broke the handles using these things are heavy,I don't know if you can get replacement handles are not .

Answer:	It is somewhat of an X shaft design, but not in the same way that the Fiskars ones are. It is designed more with a lever action similar to bolt cutters. In this design the handles don’t need to be spread as far open as traditional post hole diggers to grab ahold of the dirt and it grabs the dirt with more holding force and therefore is less likely to drop the dirt as you are lifting it out of the hole.

Answer:	I have never had a handle break so I do not know if you can get a handle replacement and my oldest unit is 15 years old

Question:	Can it penetrate roots up to a certain diameter
Answer:	It can cut small roots but I haven't had it encounter larger roots. Most of the ones I had were 1/4 " across or smaller. I had gravelly soil and it worked great for me the times I used it.

Answer:	In the description: Blade size: 6". It will dig a 6" diameter round hole as you turn it while pushing down. When the auger fills, you pull it up and dump it, start again. It works quite well unless you have ground full of large rocks.
Question:	how do you extend the auger coupler
Answer:	I dug a 30' shallow well with the auger. You ideally would use stainless steel 3/4 inch couplers and 10' galvanized pipe additions. Don't use too many couplers as you might break the pipe or coupler as you bring it up to empty it. I broke one and had to replace the pipe once in my 30' digging. Hope that assures you. It looks like there are a couple of ways to go, as stated by others.
Question:	Does this only cut 6" diameter holes? Seems like that wouldn't be enough for a 4"x4" fence post where 10" diameter holes are the norm
Answer:	The hole ends up about 8". You can get 8" and 10" blades. I have dug many, many holes for 4X4 posts 3' deep including putting quikrete in some I have never known the need for 10" diameter holes for fences.

Answer:	I measured my auger and from tip to handle is approximately 43 inches. I used my auger to dig holes 18 inches deep - it worked marvelously. Undoubtedly, as the auger handle gets closer and closer to the ground, the ability to actually turn the handle diminishes, but I am confident that had I wanted to dig a two foot hole, I could have done so. I have used standard post hole diggers, and what I like about this auger is that one gets a hole that is almost a perfect circle - a little more than 6 inches

Answer:	Yes, we do have an auger head for drilling into thin rock layer or hard materials available on the website. This auger head can drill thru occasional rock type materials such as Florida soft to medium limestone.

Answer:	The auger head cylinder is approximately 4 1/8” in diameter. The two blades are flared out 1/2” each or more to minimize friction with well wall, therefore require less torque to turn the auger head. The minimum diameter of the hole is approximately 5 1/2”, but after cleaning the hole up and down, the hole enlarge to approximately 6” depending on soil type.

Answer:	I live on the coast and have sandy soil. This auger works great, I'll never use post hole diggers again.

Answer:	There is a bolt on each side. The blades have three position holes. Loosen the bolt and move to a different hole.
Question:	Are you supposed to turn this thing clockwise or counter-clockwise? My soil is rocky and I'm really struggling with it
Answer:	We always dug clockwise, but when we had to get through rocky spots we would turn counter-clockwise intermittently to loosen up the rocks to help break through. You will most likely need a breaker bar and a clamshell digger in conjunction with this auger to get your holes dug. We had all three pieces of equipment to use in our most difficult holes.
Question:	Is the cutting bit on the end threaded to accept extensions of threaded pipe to dig deeper holes
Answer:	Yes, I was digging a well. Usually about 18-22 feet is our water table (the shallow one). It digs extremely well, but the gumbo clay gets stuck. You have to pull the bit out and clean it on each effort. Talk about crossfit training. I will go back to my old way of adding water through the pipe to hydro evacuate the dirt rather than using this tool. It would be great for post hole digging.

Answer:	You are literally asking to fit a square peg into a round hole. The diameter of the hole will be 3.5 inches. To small for a 4x4 post but you could probably waller out the hole a bit and make it fit.

Answer:	I think they were making a point: auger bits that are only tack welded are easy to break in hard ground. "Ours" (the seller/manufacturer's) is bead welded, and thus stronger. Makes sense if you read it this way..... it could have been written more clearly, of course.

Question:	It says 1500 W but amp is 10.9 amp at 120 V. should teh amp be 12.5 or wattage be 1200? What is the correct spec
Answer:	I believe it is 12.5 amps. I know the motor is very powerful as I had no problems going through hard clay. I dug holes the full length of the auger or about 30 inches and did not have a problem Just remember to let the auger work by applying light downward pressure. Too much force and you will bind up the auger blade.
Question:	should I get the 1500W or 1200w model, I don't understand the difference, the 1200w seems to have handle that you can brace on leg
Answer:	The more power the better. Mine is 1200 and it doing just fine, however, it would be better to have some reserved power.
