User questions & answers
Question: | Shipping dimensions 20x40 12 mil and weight |
Answer: | I think he/she is asking what are the dimensions and weight of the box that the cover is shipped in. I would also like to know the answer. |
Question: | What is this material made of? Is it safe to use in a pond |
Answer: | It will be safe for at least a year. I have had the cover for exactly 13 months and the cover is starting to fall apart and is leaving small blue bubble debris in my pool. If you have fish in the pond, I would be concerned that the debris could harm the fish if they tried to eat it. |
Question: | Is there a warranty on this solar cover |
Answer: | They claim there is but when we had an issue with all of the bubbles falling off and clogging our filter leading a brand new pump to burn out they claimed the bubbles separating from the cover isn’t under warranty! We had the cover 10 months and our pool pump was just about a year old...we had put in a new pool. DO NOT BUY THIS COVER |
Question: | Does any color work better than the other |
Answer: | Hands down clear is the better cover for solar gain. Yhe Department of Energy say the following. "Outdoor pools gain heat from the sun, absorbing 75%–85% of the solar energy striking the pool surface. This is an important contribution to the pool's heating needs. A pool cover will decrease the solar gain contribution to some extent, depending on what type you use. A transparent bubble cover may reduce pool solar energy absorption by 5%–15%. A completely opaque cover will reduce it by 20%–40%. You need to consider this when selecting a pool cover." |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will this blanket handle tropical weather with 27C |
Answer: | I have had my similar cover for only 2 months now during winter use so I can't say that it would hold up or not to hot summers but I assume it would considering how sturdily constructed they are. I am here in NE Florida where the summers are in the 90's, the previous crappy cover that was on the pool lasted 10 years, these are much better covers in my opinion. If you can get the cover with the diamond pattern and in clear, much better, the clear lets the sun heat the water better and the diamond pattern provides more insulation to keep out the cold. My 12x24 clear, diamond pattern cover has been awesome, it has really cut down on the time that my heater runs in the winter months. It is also much thicker than my previous cover and that helps to. |
Question: | Will this actually warm the pool quicker in the spring or just maintain the warmth already in the pool |
Answer: | It will warm you quicker. I get about ten degrees warmer with it on my 10,000g pool |
Question: | What type of warranty does this have |
Answer: | Thank you for you question. This 1600 series crystal clear cover comes with a 3 limited warranty against seam separation and delamination. It also has a 10 year pro-rated warranty, after the first 3 years it becomes pro-rated against seam separation and delamination. Bubble damage is not covered since that is due to high chemical levels in the pool and UV rays. We have product specialists available that know a few tips on our to get the maximum life our of a solar cover. Thank you. |
Question: | The current blanket we have ended up crystallizing. So, what is the the cycle of life of this blanket |
Answer: | The cover is outside year-round in the Atlanta area. I got 18 months out of my 1600 series two full summers. When it started to deteriorate it went quickly - cracking, hand sized pieces coming off, etc. I’m ordering another. Temp goes up 7-8 degrees per day and down 3 degrees at night At the start of the season (March-April here). Extends the season by two months on both ends. I got the 20x40, cut it to shape (sort of a kidney shape), and attached it to a roller. The roller is ok, but sags with the 20’ width. |

User questions & answers
Question: | How does the cover attach to the reel? Do I need to buy straps |
Answer: | The straps came with the reel system...easy to attach! FYI we chose not to attach the reel to our pavers instead my husband mounted each reel base onto a larger white plywood rectangle to stead them. |
Question: | Will this work on a 10 foot wide 60 foot long lap pool |
Answer: | I would think it would. I haven't installed mine yet as I want to attach to a deck. |
Question: | What are the dimensions of this reel assembly |
Answer: | We have ours at our vacation home in FL so I do not know the dimensions. FYI we did not want to drill the base into our brick patio, so my husband cut two boards and we painted them white and secured the wheelbase to them, added stability when unwinding or winding up the cover since we choose not to drill into our pavers. That way also when not in use we can move the entire set up out of the way. The boards we cut were approx. 11' by 20' for stability. |
Question: | Can this be mounted to a deck around an above ground pool or does it have to be mounted to the rim of the pool |
Answer: | It seems to me that you could mount it anywhere. Honestly I would rather have mine on my deck but I don't have deck around the entire pool. The only issue would be length of the aluminum tube. |
- GET OFF THE GRASS - Keep from having to place your cover on your deck or the lawn where it could get dirty, muddy, or punctured from ground debris. Protect your cover with ease knowing it never has to touch the ground again.
- NO MORE REELS - Save space in comparison to a solar cover reel. Simply pull the cover off the pool and lay in the Solar Pocket™ Cover Holder. Covers can be placed back on the pool from the either inside or the outside of the pool for your convenience.
- ALUMINUM TUBING - Keep your solar blanket protected with five aluminum U-shaped tubes that come with pre-drilled holes with an 17” protrusion for the U-hooks to post properly against the pool wall.
- EASY INSTALLATION - Perfect for a new or existing pool, just drill underneath top rails for the 2 ¼” brackets. From the center bracket (for a 24’ round pool/cover), measure 10ft out to each side and mount the brackets. Then mount the intermediate brackets roughly 5’ from the center. Measurements will vary depending on your pool and cover size.
- STEEL SIDED POOLS ONLY - This product is designed for steel pool walls only. Do not use on any soft sided or metal framed pool walls
User questions & answers
Question: | How many saddles come with this |
Answer: | just use little bolts and locking nuts. |
Question: | What is the return policy |
Answer: | No amigo. No le sirve |
Question: | Wouldn't drilling into your top rails void the warranty of the pool manufacturer and/or installers |
Answer: | Cover has holes. Not good for keeping bugs and crass clippings out of any pool. |
Question: | where can I get replacement pins for the hangers |
Answer: | I bought another brand 8' pool and bought this cover in 8'. Harley was right and it doesn't fit. It is about 2' too short so i am going to try this 10' to see if it fits. I will let you know what happens....! |

How To Measure For The Solar Pocket
Solar Pocket consists of five j-hooks that are evenly spread to conveniently hold any solar cover up and off of the ground. Metal brackets hold the j-hooks which hangs freely off of the top rail of a swimming pool. To visualize a good placement of the Solar Pocket, simply lay your solar cover folded on the ground next to your swimming pool.
The Installation Process
Installing and assembling the Sun2Solar Solar Pocket is easy and only requires a few steps! Two bolts go into the pre-drilled holes of the top rail and through the mounting bracket which is then locked into place with two nuts. The Solar Pocket is then placed inside of the mounting bracket and held in place with another bolt and a nut.
Solar Pocket Installed
Once fully assembled, the Solar Pocket is ready to go and can hold any solar cover! You can see the image to the right to see what a fully assembled Solar Pocket should look from the side and front.

User questions & answers
Question: | have a kidney shape pool underground, which one should i get |
Answer: | I have a round, 24 foot wide and 5 foot tall above ground pool. The solar blanket probably warmed our pool up 5° - 7° and kept the water from cooling off too much at night. With an in-ground pool, you probably don't have to worry as much about the nighttime cooling. The cover also reduced bugs and leaves. I've been happy with it. |
Question: | I've never purchased a pool cover before. If my pool is 12 ft (round), do I buy a 12 ft. cover or do I need to purchase a larger cover |
Answer: | The cover is left on the surface of the water. So exact would be ok. However, I have a 24 foot round above ground pool. I buy a 21 foot cover which allows it to ciculat around with the water flow and have room not to catch the ladder. It one gets the exact size they usually cut out for the ladder but don't let it circulate with the water. I found the cut out a bother with the water flow circulation and went with a smaller size which misses the steps. |
Question: | how do you get it on and off the pool |
Answer: | I have tired reels and a couple other things, but the best is a simple Solar Saddle system. They are PBV pipes that attach to the side of the pool. Simply pull the cover over and lay it in the saddles. Here is a link. https://www.amazon.com/Solar-Saddle-Pool-Cover-Holder/dp/B002WKK6QY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1501514553&sr=8-1&keywords=solar+saddle+pool+cover+holder |
Question: | Can anyone confirm that this bubbles on this cover are rounded, as the picture shows? I bought one with flat bubbles and not as good as the round one |
Answer: | Yes rounded bubblesHeats up water really well |
Question: | The description states aluminum tube set, what type of metal is used for the base, casters, screws, bolts and reel? I have a saltwater pool |
Answer: | I have a saltwater pool also. The reel is aluminum. The hardware is steel with chrome plating, the legs are steel with plated chrome plating and rubber and the wheels are steel with painted hubs. So far after owning this 4 years I believe, it’s performed and lasted well. I have had trouble with the Velcro straps though and the plastic grips to attach the solar cover to the Velcro strips on the reel. Very cheesy way to mount. |
Question: | Is this reel adjustable, meaning if I buy a 20 foot, can the pole be 16 feet, without the extra length |
Answer: | Yes. When you put it together there is two sections that slide, one inside the other. Like a curtain rod, you adjust the length you need. So, it supports up to 21 foot in length, you only need 16 foot, you initially adjust it to your need. If you look closely at the photo, you'll see the difference in circumference at the half way mark. |
Question: | Will a 16 mil cover 40 feet long fit and wind up all of the way on this reel? Will it sag In the middle |
Answer: | I have a 16 mil 36 ft long on this reel with no sag. |
Question: | Will the clips to attach to the cover puncture it? Also, I received a baggie with 2 long straps and 2 long cup hooks. What is that |
Answer: | yes the clips do puncture the cover but thats how they attach to the cover, the straps then attach to the reel with a sticky substance and velcro pieces, but the sticky doesnt last long, my husband actually drilled the straps onto the real with screws and that keeps the straps in perfectly. i dont know what hooks your reffering to though.. |
Question: | does this chaulk up after about a years time |
Answer: | Mine was done almost 4 years ago and has not caulked at all. It has worn out on the bottom some so we will probably repaint it next season. It has held its color nicely. We will use the same product again. |
Question: | How long after you use the epoxy primer can you paint |
Answer: | We put the epoxy on one day and painted the next day....a little less than 24 hours dry time. |
Question: | Does this come with the catalyst? Is it Bikini blue or white like can in picture |
Answer: | It comes with everything you need. Mine is a beautiful bikini blue. It's bee on over two years and is holding up great. We're pleased with it. |
Question: | Is this psint good for fiberglass |
Answer: | I would check with the seller. I used it on concrete last fall and it was great. We'll see how it held up in about 5 weeks when we open the pool for the summer. I don't know about fiberglass. |
Question: | Can I use this primer on my concrete floor prior to applying epoxy base coat and top coat? And how long is dry time |
Answer: | If it's a bare concrete floor, then yes. Although, I'm not sure that the "Base Coat" is not already a primer? Check with manufacturer. Drying time to "touch", an hour. But, I always waited overnight before applying a top coat to swimming pools. |
Question: | Does this come with catalyst |
Answer: | Yes it does. |
Question: | Can it be used to prime fiberglass |
Answer: | I only used it on one fiberglass walled pool with a poured concrete floor. The pool was extremely old and stained. After repairs to the fiberglass, I primed the entire pool and top coated it with Olympic Zeron. Saw it five years later and it still looked good. |
Question: | Does this product work |
Answer: | this product is a MUST USE if epoxying pool......worked GREAT for me when i put it down before using XERON |
Question: | what is the proper preparaton techinique to use before applying primer |
Answer: | Clean pool completely! |
Question: | Are there any special considerations for sharp inside corners like a fibre mesh |
Answer: | Not that I am aware of. I am super pleased with our pool after painting. |
Question: | Do I need the primer for new, virgin concrete |
Answer: | Yes you can use it. |
Question: | I purchased the gunite primer do I need to purchase the water base epoxy primer or do they come together? Do you need both of these to prime properly |
Answer: | They don't come together and you don't need both. If pool is porous you need gunite. If smooth just primer. |
Question: | Is this acrylic based pait |
Answer: | Yes, easy clean up latex |
Question: | Does it say if you can use this on metal pools |
Answer: | To the best of my knowledge, No it does not. It is very good paint that needs to be thinned but is meant for concrete pools. |
Question: | Can this be used on fiberglass pools |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | do you have to use primer first |
Answer: | I haven’t used primer, also make sure to apply paint during the right temp, to hot and paint will bubble. Also make sure to let it cure |
Question: | Can I paint over black algae with this and have it kill off the black algae like it's interior counter part would with mold |
Answer: | If you are using this for pool surface which will be under water I DO NOT recommend this paint as it will chip and crack in a matter of weeks. |
Question: | Can I use this to paint a concrete and concrete block indoor shower |
Answer: | Probably, we used ours for our pool and accidentally got some in the concrete and it does NOT come off at all ! Which could be a good and bad thing... |
Question: | Would this work on outdoor wooden steps |
Answer: | No. It’s a very rubbery finish since it’s meant for plaster pools. It would be slippery on outdoor steps. Even though it’s used in pools, it’s more of a slick finish when it dries. Also it’s usually expensive, much cheaper paints and stains available at the local hardware store or online. |
Question: | Can this be painted over a concrete pool that has been previously painted and then acid washed |
Answer: | I believe you can use this over previously painted services. The manufacture advises pressure washing first, fixing any cracks, and washing down with TSP. Clean and dry are the keys. I don't believe acid washing will do anything over previously painted concrete. Normally acid washing is to open the pours in unpainted concrete. |
Question: | Do you have to apply the cool deck coats and then another clear sealer on top of that? What kind of clear sealer do you get |
Answer: | The COO! pool deck BUNDLE comes with one gallon of Triple Crown Cleaner and a half gallon of the SealBack Clear Sealer. SealBack is a water based acrylic sealer that is engineered for sealing the COOL! coating itself. It's water thin, delivering great penetration. We recommend 2 GOOD coats of COOL in the morning hours before temperatures get too hot (use 3/4" nap rollers) , and 2 THIN coats of SealBack during the hottest part of the day(use 1/2" nap rollers)! The SealBack sealer loves to be applied in the bright sunshine for maximum cure. Thank you and reach out to us anytime! (888) 776-2242 . |
Question: | How long does it take for the sealer to dry |
Answer: | Hi. Thanks for your question. In a typical application, the sealer will be dry and open for foot traffic in one hour. However, you should not apply the sealer if rain is in the 24 hour forecast. Hope this helps! We appreciate your interest in our product. |
Question: | Can this be used on a wooden deck |
Answer: | Hi. No. Cool is only for concrete. Thanks for your interest in our product. |
Question: | What type of paint and how much |
Answer: | Add 1 gallon of paint to the product. |
Question: | can i tent the paint different colors? and will it hold to metal roof |
Answer: | Yes, I had a commercial job that required Tinting and did so by purchasing a couple of different colors in quarts to adjust the Primary Base color. I have never used Epoxy Paint on a metal roof, and would not think to use an Epoxy paint if it was rusty, or Galvanised. I used it once on a Commercial Aluminum pool inside of a hotel, but it did require a special primer to be applied first. |
Question: | CAn this be painted on plastic pool steps to cover cracks |
Answer: | it's not made to repair cracks but if they are only surface cracks maybe it would work. |
Question: | Ok for salt water pools |
Answer: | It is an epoxy paint mixed prior to use. If the pool is first washed down with fresh water an allowed ample time to dry before use, I am not aware of any reason it should not do a good job. |
Question: | Does this product replace the plaster step? Will it waterproof concrete |
Answer: | No it will not replace the plaster step. Not sure if it will waterproof concrete. We used it on the sides of the pool. Sides are like regular pool sides. It does waterproof them. We used a different pool paint on the concrete part of our pool |
Question: | I'm got a 24' round above ground pool. it has 16 posts. i remove the ladder at the end of the season. how do i order this and what's the price |
Answer: | We got that railing and you simply count the posts which for is 16 and tell them how many posts you have, you can order a hinged door for when you take the ladder out. |
Question: | I have a 18' x 30' ovel shaped pool How many sctions would be required and are some curved and others stright sections |
Answer: | All come straight but they are vinyl and be bent slightly to accommodate the curved portion of your pool my pool is a 27 round and they worked just fine. |
Question: | Can you use these with an Intex 24x22x52” pool |
Answer: | Yes |
Question: | Is the panel 24" or is 24" the length of the post |
Answer: | We bought this safety fence, the railing itself is 24” tall, and it says you should not have an opening larger than 4”, this allows you to locate it properly. |
Question: | Can this detect motion from a dog that weighs 10 pounds |

In The Swim Patio and Deck Paint
In The Swim Patio and Deck Paint is a water-based acrylic non-slip concrete deck coating. Patio and Deck Paint can be applied to damp surfaces, cutting the time between site preparation and roller painting. First time applications will require a minimum two coats depending on surface porosity. Patio and Deck Paint should be applied with a 1/2" nap roller on smooth surfaces. Use a 3/4" nap roller cover on rougher surfaces. Coverage: 90 - 125 sq ft per gallon on average. If the outside ambient air temperature if above 80°F, wait 4 hours between coats. Curing time: Before foot traffic is 24 - 48 hours depending on the outside ambient air temperature.
Determine Area Size
Determining the square foot of the area you are coating is important. This will help you figure out how many gallons of paint are needed to complete the job. It’s important to take the surface porosity and smoothness into account when deciding how much paint to purchase. Start by measuring the length and width of the area. Once you have those measurements plug them into the formulas below. Divide that number by the coverage square foot of the coating you are wanting to use. That will give you the number of gallons that you should purchase. Remember to look and see if the paint requires a single or multiple coats and if it needs a primer.
Prepare the Surface
When preparing a surface for a coating of any kind it is important to clean the area. Start by sweeping, scraping, and scrubbing the area removing any loose debris. Then hose and scrub the surface with tri-sodium phosphate 10% solution. The solution will degrease and rid the surface of any unwanted contaminants. We suggest on smooth surfaces to do a light acid wash to etch the surface. The etching will allow the paint to adhere to the surface firmly. Hose and scrub the area again with the tri-sodium phosphate 10% solution. Hose completely clean. This will remove additional debris and neutralize the acid. Allow the surface to dry with no puddles or standing water.
First and Second Coats
In The Swim Patio and Deck Paint should be applied to a damp surface with no standing water. Use a 1/2" nap roller on smooth surfaces. Use a 3/4" nap roller on rough surfaces. Roll on the first coat of paint allow a minimum of 4 hours before starting the second coat. After the 4 hour wait you are clear to roll the second coat. Wait 24 - 48 hour before the area can take heavy traffic. Coverage: 90 - 125 sq ft per gallon on average.

Drain Water
Now that you have selected the paint type and know the square footage of the interior, it’s time to drain the pool. Rent or purchase a submersible pump. As soon as the outside ambient air temperature drops below 85° F. Check the local code for where pool water can be drained and start pumping. If the outside ambient air temperature is above 85° F stop draining the pool. At these elevated temperatures, the interior surface can crack and lose its structural integrity. While the pool is draining, remember that you can start to prepare the pool for paint.
Prepare for Paint

User questions & answers
Question: | Will my massey furguson 1742 with a dl125 loader handle this |
Answer: | All I can tell you is that I have one on a Kubota SSV65 skidloader, 65 horsepower. The Kubota handles it quite well, I'm very happy with the grapple. I added a plate to protect the hydraulic hoses in a spot. |
Question: | Will this fit 2017 Mahindra loader without alteration |
Answer: | If you’re bucket is set up with the quick disconnect and plumbed for the hydraulics it should fit? I use it on my 763 bobcat and my L39 kubota tractor. You might need to change out the couplers for the hydraulic connects ? Product works great! well built for the price you can’t go wrong! |
Question: | What grade of steel is used for the 1/2” teeth on this grapple? A |
Answer: | I have used it for everything. IT don't bend. |
Question: | will this go on a kubota quick attach system |
Answer: | Yes. I’m using it on my L47 |

User questions & answers
Question: | Will it work on a John Deere 220R compact tractor without additional devices |
Answer: | It’d probably work but I can’t really answer this question without knowing how your tractor is set up. You will need a hydraulic remote run to the end of your loader. Depending on what size and style of fittings you have on your hydraulic remote lines, you may need to change them to fit the fittings on the grapple. I’m sure you could make it work fairly easily but I think it would be very big for your loader. I have a 4052R with an H180 loader and it is just about right for my machine (maybe just a bit on the grapple being too big side). |
Question: | I have a jd 4044. i am curious what size hydraulic connectors come with the hoses attached? will they fit jd connections |
Answer: | They are the same size as what u have on the rear of the tractor. I love my grapple best price of equipment I ever bought for a tractor, and I have quite a bit of it. |
Question: | Will this fit a jd 4052 tractor H |
Answer: | I have it on a 2018 JD 2032R and I can tell you its heavy duty. I think I should of bought the 60" model. Works and lifts but is straining. |
Question: | Will it fit a John Deere D170 quick attach |
Answer: | Not enought tractor |
