Question:	How deep of a hole can this make
Answer:	The auger bit is 36" (3 feet) and you can dig the full length of the bit, but you may find that the depth is slightly shallower than the 3 ft until you fully remove the dirt. If you are digging to that full depth, it is important to routinely pull the auger up to clear the dirt from the hole as you dig. If you find that you need more depth- you might want to consider adding an extension to the shaft. The Earthquake 12" and 18" extensions are available on Amazon and will fit this product.

Question:	Will this work on the southland earth auger
Answer:	This auger is designed for use with Earthquake branded units. The connection fittings may not work with that brand.
Question:	Is there and adapter so i use this auger with a 1/2 inch chuck, 60volt drill
Answer:	You could take a 1/2 drive drill bit sized for 7/8" OD and cut it above the cutting flutes to leave a round shaft & then slide it into the auger attach point & drill thru it at the attachment location...but remember that a drill bit is hardened steel and will likely take a cobalt bit to cut. It's also doubtful that the 1/2 shaft would be able to withstand a serious load without shearing...likewise it's doubtful that a battery operated drill would have the torque needed for work in hard soil. Buy yourself a cheap powerhead and save the frustration.
Question:	I see it says its 36" long. Will it cut to a 36" depth or should I buy an extension
Answer:	36" is from the tip to the point of connection to the auger drive shaft. If you want a 36" deep hole then imagine kneeling while operating the unit. I would recommend an extension.

Question:	Can it penetrate roots up to a certain diameter
Answer:	It can cut small roots but I haven't had it encounter larger roots. Most of the ones I had were 1/4 " across or smaller. I had gravelly soil and it worked great for me the times I used it.
Question:	what is the diameter size hole that this digs
Answer:	In the description: Blade size: 6". It will dig a 6" diameter round hole as you turn it while pushing down. When the auger fills, you pull it up and dump it, start again. It works quite well unless you have ground full of large rocks.
Question:	how do you extend the auger coupler
Answer:	I dug a 30' shallow well with the auger. You ideally would use stainless steel 3/4 inch couplers and 10' galvanized pipe additions. Don't use too many couplers as you might break the pipe or coupler as you bring it up to empty it. I broke one and had to replace the pipe once in my 30' digging. Hope that assures you. It looks like there are a couple of ways to go, as stated by others.
Question:	Does this only cut 6" diameter holes? Seems like that wouldn't be enough for a 4"x4" fence post where 10" diameter holes are the norm
Answer:	The hole ends up about 8". You can get 8" and 10" blades. I have dug many, many holes for 4X4 posts 3' deep including putting quikrete in some I have never known the need for 10" diameter holes for fences.

Answer:	I found an extension on Amazon but didn't buy it, instead I made one out of a simple piece of 3/4" pipe by just drilling 2 holes at the top of the pipe and 2 holes at the bottom of the pile so I could connect one end to the engine and the other end to the bit. It was very simple and easy to do.

Answer:	I don't think this is what you need. this makes a 6 inch diameter hole you would have to dig 6 holes together to get your 3 foot diameter and that's not easy to do.

Answer:	I believe mine is yes. As far as i know, first gen models required the chuck on your drill to be removed to attach it to the plate. Mine does not require that.

Answer:	I just burned up a 20v dewalt drill halfway through hole #2. I am upgrading to the 20V brushless hammer drill. Hopefully it won't catch fire like the last one did.

Answer:	It sure will fit your nills. Most hand augers fit on the clam as it has the same diameter as your handle. I have an 8" finbore and it cuts like butter with my Milwaukee fuel. Happy fishing

Answer:	They are used for placing seed into beds,pots etc. The round one is called a dibbler. You make small holes by hand for seed. The other one like a scoop is for holding the seed. I don't know why they came with this auger.

Answer:	Hooty_Hoo, The instructions say not to use pre-mixed fuels from service stations. However it says use synthetic 2 cycle oil and 90 octane. 87 octane worked fine in mine. Stihl sells sealed pre-measured containers of 2 cycle oil. I buy mine by the 6 pack. I use a ratio rite due to the mixture calling for 30-1. My other equipment uses 50-1. No matter what your equipment is, do what it says and your equipment will last for many years. If you don't have a ratio rite measuring container, buy one. They come in handy for other uses too. The money that you invest now preparing for the use of your equipment will save you from future grief. 6 pack of oil (more than needed)-$10.00. Fuel container-$8.00. 1 gal of gas-$2.30. Ratio Rite-$$Doesn't matter, you need one. Keep your gas fresh and mixed. You have a nice machine so protect it. All of my equipment runs as it should because I don't take chances. You'll be money ahead in the long run. Mix your own fuel. Know what you have. Hope this helps.

Answer:	My 6" bit was measured 24 inches plus the part that sticks out from under the motor is about 30" total.
