| Answer: | Hey Jen, I use these cabinets to hold only DVD's (and/or Blu-Rays). Here's what I can tell you for sure: I'm able to hold 35 standard DVD cases (not Blu Rays) on each of the main shelves, and can get a maximum of 4 such shelves in the main unit, which makes a total of 140. I can get 16 standard DVD cases on each of the side shelves, and I can get a maximum of 8 of those. So 16 x 8 = 128. When you all all this together, you get 140 + 128 = 268 standard sized DVD cases, I'm not sure where they're getting 298, but maybe they're using what are called "slimcases" to store DVDs. Anyway, if you're looking to store regular size DVD movies that you'd buy from the store, you can fit 268 maximum. Still pretty close!Hope this is helpful,Tom |
