Answer:	The description says they are latex-free. We have a teacher who is allergic to latex and can't be near where it's in the air (like if someone pops a balloon or uses a latex eraser) and she's had no problems with these in her class so the description is correct.

Answer:	Unfortunately, no. I purchased these when they were on sale for $3.39 (for 8 dozen). I work with students in high school, and go through about a dozen each day. When I go to sharpen these, every 6-8 pencils comes out of the sharpener with broken lead, and needs to be resharpened. When using them with the students, the lead breaks more often, and I need to keep more available so no one needs to get up to go sharpen another one. Answer:	The gold lead holders have a rotating component that allows them to be labeled as holding refills of whichever variety you prefer. I like to have a 4H handy. The mechanical pencils can be refilled with any type of lead so long as it fits the appropriate size.

Answer:	The brass ones are loaded with new lead from they writing point. Push the button at the top and load it from the writing point. I have not had to replace the silver and black ones yet.

They are very smooth, not hard at all！The success you have as far as painting with them will depend on your paper of course,and these pencils fill in nicely for different color choices and workability. You can use them wet or dry as both work well. Another thing is they don't change color when activated with water. What you put down is what you will get. Answer:	We bought them for a 4 year old learning how to write his letters. He was using a similar pencil in pre-school. They work great in my opinion. Fat enough that he can grasp it tightly, but not so big that he looks like he's writing with a log. I bought several packs to so we have some at his house and some at ours for him (and the younger one when he gets there) to use!

As the numbers increase to the right, they are accompanied with a 'B' designation and become increasingly softer. As the numbers go to the left, they are assigned an H designation and become increasingly harder.

Answer:	Same as any mechanical pencil. If you plan on using the eraser you should keep it capped. Uncapped, it turns into a blunt, dirty mess from constantly pressing on it to advance the lead, and when you come to erase something that mess transfers directly to your paper. If the cap annoys you, keep a separate eraser next to you and use that instead. There are three small ones in this kit that work very well.
