Answer:	Pinching as hard as I can with arthritic fingers, I would say maximum about 3/4 inch. (I measured the open space with a ruler.) I was able to open a second clip only a little more than half an inch. Someone stronger might get them to open more, but then I am not sure how effective the clamps would be. Sorry can't be more helpful.

Answer:	There are ridges on the inside and the ball is approx. 1/2". The magnets are crap. Colors vary and the clips I got are 3" long not 1.5" as stated in the description.

Answer:	Really nice quality Iron Carabiner D Shape Buckle. I'm using them for a paracord lanyard, and it's beneficial that they don't have a pin and/or gate in the arm. These are just smooth finished, and fit pretty good. The biners themselves look nice, and include a ring for each one. The vendor even tossed in a lanyard as a freebie, which was an unexpected and nice touch.

Answer:	I use the Carabiner D Shape Buckle in the kitchen, some tools that I like to hang on hooks have holes that are too small to allow them hang flat, but with a carabiner attached they do fine. Too easy to lose one of a set of beater attachments for my hand mixer in the kitchen tool drawer, but not if I hook them together first :). I carry one attached to the basket on my garden tractor where I can hang an extra dust mask, my foldable cane, or a bag for gathering produce from the garden. These are small carabiners. I like to keep larger ones on hand too. I won't be climbing mountains with them so this version is fine for my needs, sturdy and well made.
