| Answer: | I have the 61721, and it shot 2" brads through 3/4pine paneling and into pressure treated 2x4 no problem. You could easily shoot the brads too deep, i had to adjust the air down to get the heads to be near flush. I have no idea if it's a good idea, or the proper fastener for 5/16 hardwood, but I imagine the nailer is fully capable of shooting the brads with enough force, but who knows ... is an 18ga brad even strong enough to penetrate 5/16 hardwood. Maybe it will go through soft maple, but what about solid hickory? or beech? we don't know what your flooring is. |

| Answer: | For general purpose household use, I use the 3/8 for most jobs. You should measure how thick your cover material is and add how thick your wood is to get the right size. Example: doing cardboard strips over plastic sheet for window coverings, the cardboard is about 1/6" thick, the plastic sheet is 9ml thick, and the window frame is 1" thick. I would use 3/8" staples to get decent penetration or 1/2 - 17/32 if it was outside (due to wind). For my bike seat cover I used 3/8" and it work fine. Hope this helps. |

It definitely takes both hands and some pressure for me--more if I need to get the staples all the way in, reliably; less if I just need them to grab and hold. Overhead, I can do 50, take a long break, then another 50, in a day. If I want a perfect job, maybe 30 staples, and pressing downwards or sideways, not overhead. On the good side, it jams way less than some supposedly "self firing" staplers I have used, and I don't fear nailing myself in the thigh if I get careless and roll onto it (a grounded fear based on a prior bad experience). And it'll hold up to a more powerful user whaling away at it, without going wonky. |

I think that the design is so the top can be held verticle and the bottom will hang straight down so staples can be pressed into a bulletin board etc. That said you could open the stapler, gain access for the foam, bring the bottom up against the bottom of the foam and compress and set a staple. The problem would be if the foam is too thick or fragile the staple may not crimp or even tear-out. If you leave it open and staple foam to a wall it would work but for the size of staple and the density of the wall. |

| Answer: | I don't know where to get a parts list for the stapler. To insert staples, on the back side of the stapler push the spring-loaded tab into the stapler, turn it 1/4 turn counterclockwise, then remove from the stapler. Slide the staples into the slot and reinsert the rod. |
