Answer:	The writing surface is Masonite painted with black chalk paint. Although this is called a "chalkboard," it is really meant for liquid chalk markers. Regular chalk does not stick well and after you do get it on it on by grinding over and over your lines it leaves ghosting marks. So this is a great value for restaurants and businesses but not for kids. Slate is double the price and hard to find, but well worth the money.

Answer:	Hi, I just put a couple magnets on the board to test it and it works great. I don't have magnetic letters, but other types work well. As far as safety with toddlers, if they pushed it over and it fell on them, they might get injured. The A frame is not flimsy, it does have some weight to it. I hope that helps.

Answer:	Haven’t tried chalk markers. I’d guess they would b fine. It depends on how you use the tags though. Do you want them to be permanent or do you need to be able to erase? I use them as tags for gifts and labels for things in my house, so just use metallic sharpie markers. I love these tags!

Answer:	Actual chalk I’m not sure they worked great for chalk paste. There fell like real chalkboard so I would think so.

Answer:	Yes they work fine. I wouldn't leave the writing on long, but if it is for a short time the liquid markers work great. :-)

Answer:	Yes it can, but if you remove it you're left with thin metal sheets front and back separated by a thick piece of cardboard.
Question:	Do you have to make holes to mount it
Answer:	I rest mine on an easel, and that works fine for me. I don't want it mounted on the wall and I want to be able to move it about as needed -- so the easel is the perfect solution.
Question:	I want to hang this vertically, can I remove the pen holder
Answer:	Yes, the pen holder will attach on any side. Ours is hung vertically as well.
