I have a rather large head so it didn’t cover all of my jet black hair. But it was very comfortable and it’s length hid the size difference. I definitely recommend only styling the hair down and with warm water and not using heat tools on it . But the quality really isn’t bad. For a synthetic wig it looked quite natural and didn’t have that synthetic wig shine . It made a great addition to my cosplay costume.

If your backpack isn't filled to capacity on the inside, a narrow water bottle (think regular sized Swell bottle) would be able to fit in the outside side pocket. Since I pack a lot in my bag, I place my water bottle inside the bag and reserve the outside side pockets for smaller things like mints.
