Answer:	Extremely! That's why I bought this, and it has not let me down! The paper is very thick, so the ink does not bleed through. The paper also does not damage the tip of the pen.

Answer:	There is an orange card stock flap on either side which does not provide much support, but in the back there is a cardboard cover that provides some rigidity. Not as perfectly firm as a hardbacked book, but provides enough structure that I can write easily on my lap.

Answer:	The pages are easy to rip out by themselves. They will stay in the binding until you rip them out. The only trouble is that the edge that attaches to the binding won't rip out with the paper.
