Answer:	I think so, but it's not the best idea to dishwasher fillet knives, due to their thin construction.

Answer:	Might be tough to do ... it took me several hours to put together. The instructions are good, the machine itself is well made for the price point, but its a little tricky to assemble, especially the main center column which has a tension cable that needs to be connected.
