Answer:	I suggest you put a whole house 5 micron sediment filter on your main where it enters the house. Use this F1000s filter as a additional secondary filter for the hot water dispenser. When you replace the filter after six months, check it for brownish metallic color and with a magnet to determine how much iron it holds, and whether this reduces after several filter changes. Be patient: could take over a year.

Answer:	Unfortunately they don't tell us exactly what that does and doesn't filter other then saying it filters particles down to 5 microns. I would reach out to Insinkerator directly to see if they have a recommendation.

Question:	How big are the flags
Answer:	I believe it will work but I think it's only rated for 180 degrees F. And typically hot house water is only run for a few minutes at a time at that temp. If you are using for an engine application you could have consistent temps of 180 -220 F. It will probably work but I would plumb in a bypass in case it fails. You are probably better off with a stainless steel filter for that but you could try it.
